John 10
1 “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
૧હું તમને નિશ્ચે કહું છું કે, ‘જે દરવાજામાંથી ઘેટાંના વાડામાં પ્રવેશતો નથી, પણ બીજે કોઈ રસ્તેથી પ્રવેશે છે, તે ચોર તથા લૂંટારો છે.
2 But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
૨પણ દરવાજામાંથી જે પ્રવેશે છે, તે ઘેટાંપાળક છે.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
૩દ્વારપાળ તેને સારુ દ્વાર ઉઘાડે છે; અને ઘેટાં તેનો અવાજ સાંભળે છે; અને તે પોતાનાં ઘેટાંને નામ લઈને બોલાવે છે અને તેઓને બહાર દોરીને લઈ જાય છે.
4 Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
૪જયારે તે પોતાનાં સર્વ ઘેટાંને બહાર લાવે છે, ત્યારે તે તેઓની આગળ ચાલે છે અને ઘેટાં તેની પાછળ પાછળ ચાલે છે; કેમ કે તેઓ તેનો અવાજ ઓળખે છે.
5 They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”
૫તેઓ અજાણ્યાની પાછળ ચાલશે નહિ, પણ તેની પાસેથી નાસી જશે; કેમ કે તેઓ અજાણ્યાનો અવાજ ઓળખતા નથી.’”
6 Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
૬ઈસુએ તેઓને દૃષ્ટાંતમાં કહ્યું, પણ જે વાતો તેમણે તેઓને કહી તે તેઓ સમજ્યા નહિ.
7 Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.
૭તેથી ઈસુએ ફરીથી તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ‘હું તમને નિશ્ચે કહું છું કે, ઘેટાંનું પ્રવેશદ્વાર હું છું.
8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
૮જેટલાં મારી અગાઉ આવ્યા, તેઓ સર્વ ચોર તથા લૂંટારા છે; પણ ઘેટાંએ તેઓનું સાંભળ્યું નહિ.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture.
૯પ્રવેશદ્વાર હું છું, મારા દ્વારા જે કોઈ પ્રવેશે, તે ઉદ્ધાર પામશે, તે અંદર આવશે અને બહાર જશે અને તેને ચરવાનું મળશે.
10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
૧૦ચોરી કરવા, મારી નાખવા તથા નાશ કરવા સિવાય બીજાકોઈ મતલબથી ચોર આવતો નથી. પણ હું તો તેઓને જીવન મળે અને તે પુષ્કળ મળે, માટે હું આવ્યો છું.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
૧૧ઉત્તમ ઘેટાંપાળક હું છું; ઉત્તમ ઘેટાંપાળક ઘેટાંને સારુ પોતાનો જીવ આપે છે.
12 He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them.
૧૨જે નોકર છે અને ઘેટાંપાળક નથી, એટલે જે પોતે ઘેટાંનો માલિક નથી, તે વરુને આવતું જોઈને ઘેટાંને મૂકીને નાસી જાય છે; પછી વરુ તેઓને પકડીને વિખેરી નાખે છે.
13 The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand and doesn’t care for the sheep.
૧૩તે નાસી જાય છે, કેમ કે તે નોકર છે અને ઘેટાંની તેને કંઈ ચિંતા નથી.
14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;
૧૪ઉત્તમ ઘેટાંપાળક હું છું અને પોતાનાં ઘેટાંને ઓળખું છું અને મારા પોતાનાં ઘેટાં મને ઓળખે છે.
15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
૧૫જેમ પિતા મને ઓળખે છે અને હું પિતાને ઓળખું છું તેમ મારાં પોતાનાં મને ઓળખે છે; અને ઘેટાંને સારુ હું મારો જીવ આપું છું.
16 I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
૧૬મારાં બીજાં ઘેટાં પણ છે, તેઓ આ વાડામાંના નથી; તેઓને પણ મારે લાવવાની જરૂર છે અને તેઓ મારો અવાજ સાંભળશે; અને એક ટોળું, એક ઘેટાંપાળક થશે.
17 Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
૧૭પિતા મારા પર પ્રેમ કરે છે, કારણ કે હું મારો જીવ આપું છું કે હું તે પાછો લઉં.
18 No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”
૧૮કોઈ મારી પાસેથી તે લેતો નથી, પણ હું મારી પોતાની જાતે તે આપું છું; તે આપવાનો મને અધિકાર છે અને પાછો લેવાનો પણ મને અધિકાર છે; તે આજ્ઞા મને મારા પિતા તરફથી મળી છે.’”
19 Therefore a division arose again among the Jews because of these words.
૧૯આ વાતોને લીધે યહૂદીઓમાં ફરીથી ભાગલા પડ્યા.
20 Many of them said, “He has a demon and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”
૨૦તેઓમાંના ઘણાંએ કહ્યું કે, ‘તેને દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગેલું છે અને તે પાગલ છે; તમે તેનું કેમ સાંભળો છો?’”
21 Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?”
૨૧બીજાઓએ કહ્યું કે, ‘દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગેલા માણસની તે વાતો નથી. શું ભૂત અંધજનોની આંખો ઉઘાડી શકે છે?’”
22 It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.
૨૨હવે યરુશાલેમમાં અર્પણ કરવાનું પર્વ હતું; અને તે શિયાળાનો સમય હતો.
23 It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
૨૩ઈસુ ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સુલેમાનની પરસાળમાં ફરતા હતા.
24 The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
૨૪ત્યારે યહૂદીઓએ તેમની આસપાસ ફરી વળીને તેમને કહ્યું, ‘તમે ક્યાં સુધી અમને સંદેહમાં રાખશો? જો તમે ખ્રિસ્ત હો તો તે અમને સ્પષ્ટ કહો.’”
25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.
૨૫ઈસુએ તેઓને ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે, ‘મેં તો તમને કહ્યું, પણ તમે વિશ્વાસ કરતા નથી. મારા પિતાને નામે જે કામો હું કરું છું, તેઓ મારા વિષે સાક્ષી આપે છે.
26 But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.
૨૬તોપણ તમે વિશ્વાસ કરતા નથી, કેમ કે તમે મારાં ઘેટાં નથી.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
૨૭મારાં ઘેટાં મારો અવાજ સાંભળે છે, હું તેઓને ઓળખું છું અને તેઓ મારી પાછળ આવે છે.
29 My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
૨૯મારા પિતા, જેમણે મને તેઓને આપ્યાં છે, તે સહુથી મહાન છે; અને પિતાના હાથમાંથી કોઈ તેઓને છીનવી લેવા સમર્થ નથી.
30 I and the Father are one.”
૩૦હું તથા પિતા એક છીએ.’”
31 Therefore the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
૩૧ત્યારે યહૂદીઓએ તેમને મારવાને ફરીથી પથ્થર હાથમાં લીધા.
32 Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
૩૨ઈસુએ તેઓને ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે, ‘મેં પિતા તરફથી તમને ઘણાં સારાં કામો બતાવ્યાં છે, તેઓમાંના કયા કામને લીધે મને પથ્થર મારો છો?’”
33 The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
૩૩યહૂદીઓએ તેમને ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે, ‘કોઈ સારા કામને લીધે અમે તમને પથ્થર મારતા નથી, પણ દુર્ભાષણને કારણે; અને તમે માણસ હોવા છતાં પોતાને ઈશ્વર ઠરાવો છો, તેને કારણે.’”
34 Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?
૩૪ઈસુએ તેઓને ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “હું કહું છું કે, ‘તમે દેવો છો’ એ શું તમારા નિયમશાસ્ત્રમાં લખેલું નથી?
35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),
૩૫જેઓની પાસે ઈશ્વરનું વચન આવ્યું, તેઓને જો તેમણે દેવો કહ્યાં તેથી શાસ્ત્રવચનનો ભંગ થતો નથી,
36 do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
૩૬તો જેને પિતાએ પવિત્ર કરીને દુનિયામાં મોકલ્યા, તેમણે કહ્યું કે, હું ઈશ્વરનો દીકરો છું; તો શું તમે તેમને એમ કહો છો કે તમે દુર્ભાષણ કરો છો?
37 If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.
૩૭જો હું મારા પિતાનાં કામ કરતો નથી, તો મારા પર વિશ્વાસ ન કરો.
38 But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
૩૮પણ જો હું કરું છું, તો જોકે તમે મારા પર વિશ્વાસ ન કરો, તોપણ તે કામો પર વિશ્વાસ કરો; જેથી તમે જાણો અને સમજો કે, પિતા મારામાં છે અને હું પિતામાં છું.’”
39 They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.
૩૯ત્યારે તેઓએ ફરીથી તેમને પકડવાનો પ્રયત્ન કર્યો, પણ ઈસુ તેઓના હાથમાંથી સરકી ગયા.
40 He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and he stayed there.
૪૦પછી ઈસુ યર્દન નદીને સામે કિનારે, જ્યાં પહેલાં યોહાન બાપ્તિસ્મા આપતો હતો, તે સ્થળે પાછા ગયા, અને ત્યાં રહ્યા.
41 Many came to him. They said, “John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true.”
૪૧ઘણાં લોકો તેમની પાસે આવ્યા; તેઓએ કહ્યું, ‘યોહાને કંઈ ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો કર્યા ન હતા તે સાચું; પણ યોહાને એમને વિષે જે જે કહ્યું, તે બધું સત્ય હતું.’”
42 Many believed in him there.
૪૨ઘણાં લોકોએ તેમના પર વિશ્વાસ કર્યો.
