Jeremiah 44

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

౧ఐగుప్తు లోని మిగ్దోలు, తహపనేసు, నొపు, పత్రోసు నగరాల్లో నివాసమున్న యూదా ప్రజలందరిని గూర్చి యిర్మీయా వద్దకు వచ్చిన దేవుని వాక్యం ఇది.

2 “Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah. Behold, today they are a desolation, and no man dwells in them,

౨“సేనల ప్రభువూ, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడూ అయిన యెహోవా ఇలా చెప్తున్నాడు. నేను యెరూషలేము పైకీ మిగిలిన యూదా దేశపు పట్టణాల పైకీ పంపిన విపత్తులన్నిటినీ మీరు చూశారు. చూడండి, అవి శిథిలాలై పడి ఉన్నాయి. అక్కడ ఎవరూ నివసించడం లేదు.

3 because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, to serve other gods that they didn’t know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.

౩మీకుగానీ మీ పితరులకిగానీ తెలియని దేవుళ్ళకి సాంబ్రాణి వేసి పూజించి నాకు కోపం పుట్టించారు కాబట్టి అలా జరిగింది.

4 However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, “Oh, don’t do this abominable thing that I hate.”

౪అందుకని నేను నా సేవకులైన ప్రవక్తలందర్నీ పదే పదే పంపిస్తూ వచ్చాను. నేను అసహ్యించుకునే ఈ నీచమైన పనులు చేయవద్దు అని చెప్పేందుకు వాళ్ళని పంపాను.

5 But they didn’t listen and didn’t incline their ear. They didn’t turn from their wickedness, to stop burning incense to other gods.

౫కానీ వాళ్ళు వినలేదు. ఇతర దేవుళ్ళకి ధూపం వేయడం గానీ, దుర్మార్గపు పనులను చేయడం గానీ మానుకోలేదు. నా మాటపై శ్రద్ధ పెట్టలేదు.

6 Therefore my wrath and my anger was poured out, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is today.’

౬కాబట్టి నా దగ్గర నుండి తీవ్రమైన కోపం, ఉగ్రత ప్రవహించింది. అది అగ్నిలా యూదా పట్టణాలనూ, యెరూషలేము రహదారులనూ తగులబెట్టింది. కాబట్టి అవి ఇప్పుడు చూస్తున్నట్టుగా నాశనమై శిథిలాలుగా పడి ఉన్నాయి.”

7 “Therefore now Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Why do you commit great evil against your own souls, to cut off from yourselves man and woman, infant and nursing child out of the middle of Judah, to leave yourselves no one remaining,

౭కాబట్టి ఇప్పుడు సేనల ప్రభువూ, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడూ అయిన యెహోవా ఇలా చెప్తున్నాడు. “మీకు విరోధంగా మీరే ఎందుకిలా దుర్మార్గం చేస్తూ ఉన్నారు? స్త్రీలూ, పురుషులూ, పిల్లలూ, పసికందులూ ఇలా ఎవరూ యూదా దేశంలో ఉండకుండా నిర్మూలం అయ్యేలా, మీలో ఎవరూ మిగలకుండా మీరే ఎందుకు చేసుకుంటున్నారు?

8 in that you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to live, that you may be cut off, and that you may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

౮మీ దుర్మార్గత చేత మీరు మీ చేతులతో చేసే పనులతో నాకు అభ్యంతరకరంగా నేరం చేస్తున్నారు. మీరు నివాసం ఉండబోతున్న ఐగుప్తు దేశపు దేవుళ్ళకి ధూపం వేస్తూ నన్ను ఉల్లంఘిస్తున్నారు. మీరు నాశనం కావడానికీ భూమి పైన ఉన్న అన్ని దేశాల్లో మీరు నవ్వుల పాలు కావడానికీ, ఒక శాప వచనంగా ఉండటానికీ మీరు అక్కడికి వెళ్తున్నారు.

9 Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

౯మీ పితరులు చేసిన దుర్మార్గాన్నీ, మీ యూదా రాజులూ, వాళ్ళ భార్యలూ చేసిన దుర్మార్గాన్నీ మరచిపోయారా? యూదా దేశంలోనూ, యెరూషలేము వీధుల్లోనూ మీరూ, మీ భార్యలూ చేసిన దుర్మార్గాన్ని మరచిపోయారా?

10 They are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.’

౧౦ఈ రోజు వరకూ వాళ్ళు అణకువతో ఉండలేదు. వాళ్ళ ముందూ వాళ్ళ పితరుల ముందూ నేను ఉంచిన ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్నిగానీ ఆజ్ఞలనుగానీ వాళ్ళు గౌరవించలేదు. వాటి ప్రకారం జీవించలేదు.”

11 “Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.

౧౧కాబట్టి సేనల ప్రభువూ, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడూ అయిన యెహోవా ఇలా చెప్తున్నాడు. “చూడండి, మీ పైకి అపాయాన్ని తీసుకురావడానికీ, యూదా దేశాన్నంతా నాశనం చేయడానికీ నేను నా ముఖాన్ని మీకు వ్యతిరేకంగా తిప్పుకుంటున్నాను.

12 I will take the remnant of Judah that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to live there, and they will all be consumed. They will fall in the land of Egypt. They will be consumed by the sword and by the famine. They will die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine. They will be an object of horror, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach.

౧౨యూదా ప్రజలలో మిగిలిన వాళ్ళలో ఐగుప్తు దేశానికి వెళ్ళాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్న వాళ్ళని నేనే తీసుకు వెళ్తాను. వాళ్ళంతా ఐగుప్తులో నాశనం కావడానికే ఇలా చేస్తాను. వాళ్ళు అక్కడ కత్తి మూలంగానూ, కరువు మూలంగానూ కూలిపోతారు. వాళ్ళు చనిపోయి శాపానికీ, దూషణకూ, అవమానానికీ, భయానికీ సామెతగా ఉంటారు.

13 For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;

౧౩యెరూషలేములో నివసించే వాళ్ళని కత్తితో, కరువుతో, వ్యాధులతో నేను ఎలా శిక్షించానో అలాగే ఐగుప్తులో నివసించే వాళ్ళను కూడా శిక్షిస్తాను.

14 so that none of the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will escape or be left to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there; for no one will return except those who will escape.’”

౧౪ఐగుప్తులో నివాసముండటానికి వెళ్ళిన మిగిలిన యూదా ప్రజల్లో ఎవరూ కాందిశీకుల్లా తిరిగి యూదా దేశానికి రావాలని ఎంత కోరుకున్నా రాలేరు. అక్కడ నుండి తప్పించుకుని పారిపోయిన ఏ కొద్దిమందో తప్ప ఎవరూ తిరిగి రారు.”

15 Then all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

౧౫అప్పుడు తమ భార్యలు ఇతర దేవుళ్ళకు సాంబ్రాణి ధూపం వేస్తారని తెలిసిన పురుషులందరూ, అక్కడ సమూహంలో ఉన్న ఆడవాళ్ళందరూ, ఐగుప్తు దేశంలో పత్రోసులో నివాసముండే ప్రజలందరూ యిర్మీయాకు జవాబిచ్చారు.

16 “As for the word that you have spoken to us in Yahweh’s name, we will not listen to you.

౧౬వాళ్ళిలా అన్నారు. “యెహోవా పేరు మీద నువ్వు చెప్పిన మాట మేం వినం.

17 But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

౧౭మేం చేస్తామని చెప్పిన పనులను మేం తప్పకుండా చేస్తాం. యూదా దేశంలోనూ, యెరూషలేము వీధులలోనూ మేమూ, మా రాజులూ, మా పితరులూ, మా నాయకులూ చేసినట్టే ఆకాశ రాణికి ధూపం వేస్తాం, ఆమెకు పానీయ నైవేద్యాలు సమర్పిస్తాం. అప్పుడే ఎలాంటి ఆపదా కలగకుండా మాకు సమృద్ధిగా ఆహారం దొరుకుతుంది. మేం అభివృద్ధి చెందుతాం.

18 But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”

౧౮మేం ఆకాశరాణికి ధూపం వేయకుండా, ఆమెకు పానీయ నైవేద్యాలు అర్పించకుండా ఉన్నప్పుడు పేదరికంతో బాధ పడ్డాం. కత్తి మూలంగానూ, కరువు మూలంగానూ నశించిపోతున్నాం.”

19 The women said, “When we burned incense to the queen of the sky and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?”

౧౯అక్కడి స్త్రీలు “మేం మా భర్తలకు తెలియకుండానే ఆకాశ రాణికి ధూపం వేస్తూ, ఆమెకు పానీయ నైవేద్యాలు అర్పిస్తూ ఉన్నామా ఏమిటి?” అన్నారు.

20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people—to the men and to the women, even to all the people who had given him an answer, saying,

౨౦అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా ఆ ప్రజలందరితో, ఆ స్త్రీ పురుషులందరితో, తనకు జవాబు చెప్పిన వాళ్ళందరితో ఇలా అన్నాడు. వాళ్ళకి ఇలా ప్రకటన చేశాడు.

21 “The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, didn’t Yahweh remember them, and didn’t it come into his mind?

౨౧“మీరూ, మీ పితరులూ, మీ రాజులూ, మీ నాయకులూ, మీ ప్రజలందరూ యూదా పట్టణాల్లోనూ, యెరూషలేము వీధులలోనూ మీరు వేసిన ధూపం యెహోవా మర్చిపోయాడు అనుకుంటున్నారా? ఆయన దాన్ని జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకుంటున్నాడు. ఆయన ఆలోచనల్లో ఇది మెదులుతూనే ఉంది.

22 Thus Yahweh could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your doings and because of the abominations which you have committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation, an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is today.

౨౨ఆయన మీ దుర్మార్గపు పనులనూ, మీరు జరిగించిన అసహ్య కార్యాలనూ చూసి సహించలేక పోయాడు. అందుకే మీ భూమి ఎడారి అయింది. భీకరమైన ప్రాంతంగా, ఒక శాపంగా అయింది. అందుకే ఈ రోజు వరకూ అక్కడ ఎవరూ నివాసమేర్పరచుకోలేదు.

23 Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed Yahweh’s voice, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil has happened to you, as it is today.”

౨౩మీరు ధూపం వేసి యెహోవాకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పాపం చేశారు. ఆయన మాట వినకుండా ఆయన ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్నీ, ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలనూ, ఆయన నిబంధన నియమాలనూ పాటించలేదు. అందుకే ఈ రోజు మీకీ దురవస్థ కలిగింది.”

24 Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, including all the women, “Hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt!

౨౪తర్వాత యిర్మీయా అక్కడి ప్రజలనందరికీ, స్త్రీలందరికీ ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “ఐగుప్తులో ఉన్న యూదా ప్రజలారా, యెహోవా మాట వినండి.

25 Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, “We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her.” “‘Establish then your vows, and perform your vows.’

౨౫సేనల ప్రభువూ, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడూ అయిన యెహోవా ఇలా చెప్తున్నాడు. ‘మీరూ, మీ భార్యలూ, ఇద్దరూ కలసి మీ నోటితో చెప్పారు.’ అలా చెప్పిన దాన్ని చేతులతో చేసి చూపించారు. ఆకాశ రాణికి ధూపం వేస్తామనీ, ఆమెకు పూజ చేస్తామనీ మీరు ఒట్టు పెట్టుకున్నారు. ఇప్పుడు మీ ఒట్టును నెరవేర్చండి. దానిని జరిగించండి.

26 “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: ‘Behold, I have sworn by my great name,’ says Yahweh, ‘that my name will no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “As the Lord Yahweh lives.”

౨౬అయితే ఐగుప్తులో నివసించే యూదా ప్రజలందరూ యెహోవా మాట వినండి. ఆయన ఇలా అంటున్నాడు. చూడండి. నేను నా ఘన నామంపై ప్రమాణం చేసి చెప్తున్నాను. ఐగుప్తులో ఉన్న యూదులంతా ఇప్పుడు ‘యెహోవా జీవం తోడు’ అంటూ ఉంటారు. అయితే ఐగుప్తులో ఉన్న యూదుల్లో ఎవ్వరూ ఇక మీదట నా పేరును తమ నోటితో పలకరు.

27 Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until they are all gone.

౨౭నేను వాళ్ళ క్షేమం కోసం కాకుండా వాళ్ళ వినాశనం కోసమే వాళ్ళని కనిపెట్టుకుని ఉన్నాను. ఐగుప్తులోని యూదులంతా కత్తి మూలంగానో కరువు మూలంగానో చనిపోతారు. వాళ్ళలో ఒక్కడు కూడా మిగలడు. వారు ఖడ్గం వల్ల గానీ కరువు వల్ల గానీ క్షీణించిపోతారు. ఐగుప్తు దేశంలో ఉన్న యూదా వారంతా ఎవరూ మిగలకుండా అంతమై పోతారు.

28 Those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah few in number. All the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.

౨౮కత్తిని తప్పించుకున్న కొద్దిమంది ఐగుప్తు నుండి యూదా దేశానికి తిరిగి వస్తారు. కాబట్టి యూదాలో మిగిలిన వాళ్లకు ఎవరి మాట నిజమైనదో, నాదో, వారిదో అప్పడు తెలుసుకుంటారు.

29 “‘This will be the sign to you,’ says Yahweh, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil.’

౨౯ఇది యెహోవా చేస్తున్న ప్రకటన. ‘నా మాట మీకు విరోధంగా మీ పైకి ఘోర విపత్తును తీసుకు వస్తుంది. దానికి ఇది మీకు ఒక సూచనగా ఉంటుంది.’

30 Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, just as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and sought his life.’”

౩౦యెహోవా ఇలా చెప్తున్నాడు. ‘సిద్కియా ప్రాణాన్ని తీయాలని వెదికిన అతని శత్రువు నెబుకద్నెజరు చేతికి సిద్కియాను అప్పగించినట్టే ఐగుప్తు రాజైన ఫరో హోఫ్రాను అతని శత్రువులకీ, అతని ప్రాణం తీయాలని చూసేవాళ్లకీ అప్పగించబోతున్నాను.’”
