Isaiah 49
1 Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.
૧હે ટાપુઓ, તમે મારું સાંભળો! હે દૂરના લોકો, તમે ધ્યાન આપો. યહોવાહે જન્મથી મને નામ લઈને, જ્યારે હું મારી માના ગર્ભમાં હતો ત્યારથી બોલાવ્યો છે.
2 He has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. He has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.
૨તેમણે મારું મુખ તીક્ષ્ણ તલવાર જેવું બનાવ્યું છે; તેમણે મને પોતાના હાથની છાયામાં સંતાડ્યો છે; તેમણે મને ઘસીને ચમકતા બાણ સમાન કર્યો છે; તેમના ભાથામાં મને સંતાડી રાખ્યો છે.
3 He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”
૩તેમણે મને કહ્યું, “ઇઝરાયલ, તું મારો સેવક છે; જેના દ્વારા હું મારી મહિમા બતાવીશ.”
4 But I said, “I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength in vain for nothing; yet surely the justice due to me is with Yahweh, and my reward with my God.”
૪મેં વિચાર્યું કે મેં નિરર્થક મહેનત કરી છે, મેં મારું સામર્થ્ય વ્યર્થ ખરચી નાખ્યું છે, તો પણ મારો ઇનસાફ યહોવાહની પાસે છે અને મારો બદલો મારા ઈશ્વર પાસે છે.
5 Now Yahweh, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him, and to gather Israel to him, for I am honorable in Yahweh’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.
૫હવે યહોવાહ જેમણે મને ગર્ભસ્થાનથી પોતાનો સેવક થવા માટે ઘડ્યો છે, તે કહે છે, યાકૂબને મારી પાસે પાછો ફેરવી લાવ અને ઇઝરાયલને મારી પાસે એકત્ર કર. યહોવાહની દૃષ્ટિમાં હું માન પામેલો છું અને ઈશ્વર મારું સામર્થ્ય થયા છે.
6 Indeed, he says, “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”
૬તે કહે છે, “તું યાકૂબનાં કુળોને પુનઃસ્થાપિત કરવા તથા ઇઝરાયલના શેષ બચેલાઓને પાછા લાવવા માટે મારો સેવક થાય એ થોડું કહેવાય. હું તને વિદેશીઓ માટે પ્રકાશરૂપ બનાવીશ, જેથી પૃથ્વીના છેડા સુધી તું ઉદ્ધાર પહોંચાડનાર થશે.”
7 Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”
૭ઇઝરાયલનો ઉદ્ધાર કરનાર, તેઓના પવિત્ર યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે, જેને લોકો ધિક્કારે છે, રાજ્યો દ્વારા તિરસ્કાર પામેલ, શાસકોના ગુલામ: “રાજાઓ તને જોશે અને ઊભા થશે અને સરદારો તને જોઈને પ્રણામ કરશે, કારણ કે યહોવાહ વિશ્વાસુ છે, ઇઝરાયલનાં પવિત્ર, જેમણે તને પસંદ કર્યો છે.
8 Yahweh says, “I have answered you in an acceptable time. I have helped you in a day of salvation. I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage,
૮યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે: એક સમયે હું મારી કૃપા બતાવીશ અને તને ઉત્તર આપીશ તથા ઉદ્ધારને દિવસે હું તને સહાય કરીશ; હું તારું રક્ષણ કરીશ અને તને લોકોને માટે કરારરૂપ કરીશ, જેથી તું દેશને ફરીથી બાંધે અને નિર્જન ભૂમિનો વારસો વહેંચી આપે.
9 saying to those who are bound, ‘Come out!’; to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves!’ “They shall feed along the paths, and their pasture shall be on all treeless heights.
૯તું બંદીવાનોને કહેશે, ‘બહાર આવો;’ જેઓ અંધકારમાં છે તેઓને કહેશે, ‘પ્રકાશમાં આવો.’ તેઓ રસ્તાઓ પર અને સર્વ ઢોળાવ પર ચરનારાં ઘેટાં જેવા મુક્ત થશે.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them, for he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them by springs of water.
૧૦તેઓને ભૂખ કે તરસ લાગશે નહિ; અને તેઓને લૂ તથા તાપ લાગશે નહિ, કેમ કે જે તેઓ ઉપર દયા કરે છે, તે તેઓને દોરી જશે; પાણીના ઝરાઓની પાસે તેઓને લઈ જશે.
11 I will make all my mountains a road, and my highways shall be exalted.
૧૧મારા સર્વ પર્વતો પર હું માર્ગો બનાવીશ અને મારા રાજમાર્ગોને સપાટ કરીશ.”
12 Behold, these shall come from afar, and behold, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Sinim.”
૧૨જુઓ, તેઓ દૂરથી આવશે, થોડા ઉત્તરથી તથા પશ્ચિમથી; તથા અન્ય સીનીમ દેશમાંથી આવશે.
13 Sing, heavens, and be joyful, earth! Break out into singing, mountains! For Yahweh has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.
૧૩હે આકાશો, ગાઓ અને હે પૃથ્વી, આનંદ કર; હે પર્વતો, તમે જયઘોષ કરવા માંડો! કેમ કે યહોવાહે પોતાના લોકોને દિલાસો આપ્યો છે અને તે પોતાના દુ: ખી લોકો પર દયા કરશે.
14 But Zion said, “Yahweh has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”
૧૪પણ સિયોને કહ્યું, “યહોવાહે મને તજી દીધી છે અને પ્રભુ મને ભૂલી ગયા છે.”
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!
૧૫શું સ્ત્રી પોતાના બાળકને, અરે પોતાના સ્તનપાન કરતા બાળકને ભૂલી જાય, પોતાના પેટના દીકરા પર તે દયા ન કરે? હા, કદાચ તે ભૂલી જાય પરંતુ હું તને ભૂલીશ નહિ.
16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your walls are continually before me.
૧૬જો, મેં તારું નામ મારી હથેળી પર કોતર્યું છે; તારો કોટ નિત્ય મારી સમક્ષ છે.
17 Your children hurry. Your destroyers and those who devastated you will leave you.
૧૭જ્યારે તારો નાશ કરનાર દૂર જાય છે, ત્યારે તારા છોકરાં ઉતાવળથી પાછાં ફરે છે.
18 Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live,” says Yahweh, “you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them, like a bride.
૧૮તારી દૃષ્ટિ ઊંચી કરીને ચારે તરફ જો, તેઓ સર્વ એકઠા થઈને તારી પાસે આવે છે. યહોવાહ કહે છે, “મારા જીવના સમ” તું તે સર્વને આભૂષણની જેમ પહેરશે; કન્યાની જેમ તારી જાતને શણગારશે.
19 “For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now that land will be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
૧૯જો કે તારી ઉજ્જડ તથા વસ્તી વિનાની જગાઓ, તારો પાયમાલ થયેલો દેશ, હવે તારા રહેવાસીઓ માટે તું ખૂબ નાનો હશે અને તને ગળી જનારા દૂર રહેશે.
20 The children of your bereavement will say in your ears, ‘This place is too small for me. Give me a place to live in.’
૨૦તારા વિરહના સમયમાં જન્મેલા બાળકો તારા સાંભળતાં કહેશે, ‘આ જગા અમારે માટે ખૂબ સાંકડી છે, અમારે માટે જગા કર કે અમે રહી શકીએ.’
21 Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who has conceived these for me, since I have been bereaved of my children and am alone, an exile, and wandering back and forth? Who has brought these up? Behold, I was left alone. Where were these?’”
૨૧પછી તું તારા મનમાં કહેશે, ‘મારે માટે આ બાળકોને કોણે જન્મ આપ્યો છે? હું તો નિરાધાર તથા નિઃસંતાન, બંદીવાન તથા છૂટાછેડા પામેલી છું. આ બાળકોને કોણે ઉછેર્યાં છે? જુઓ, હું એકલી રહેતી હતી; આ બાળકો ક્યાંથી આવ્યાં?”
22 The Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and lift up my banner to the peoples. They shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
૨૨પ્રભુ યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે: “જુઓ, હું વિદેશીઓની તરફ મારો હાથ ઊંચો કરીશ; લોકોની તરફ મારી ધ્વજા ઊંચી કરીશ. તેઓ તારા દીકરાઓને તેમના હાથમાં ઊંચકીને અને તારી દીકરીઓને ખભા પર બેસાડીને લાવશે.
23 Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me won’t be disappointed.”
૨૩રાજાઓ તારા વાલી અને તેઓની રાણીઓ તારી સંભાળ રાખનાર થશે; તેઓ તને સાષ્ટાંગ દંડવત પ્રણામ કરશે અને તારા પગની ધૂળ ચાટશે; અને ત્યારે તું જાણશે કે, હું યહોવાહ છું; જેઓ મારી વાટ જુએ છે તેઓ કદી લજવાશે નહિ.”
24 Shall the plunder be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
૨૪શું શૂરવીર પાસેથી લૂંટ છીનવી શકાય અથવા શું જુલમીના હાથમાંથી બંદીવાનોને છોડાવી શકાય?
25 But Yahweh says, “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the plunder retrieved from the fierce, for I will contend with him who contends with you and I will save your children.
૨૫પણ યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે કે: “હા, શૂરવીર પાસેથી બંદીવાનોને લઈ લેવાશે અને લૂંટ છીનવી લેવાશે; કેમ કે હું તારા દુષ્ટોનો વિરોધ કરીશ અને તારાં બાળકોને બચાવીશ.
26 I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they will be drunk on their own blood, as with sweet wine. Then all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
૨૬અને હું તારા પર જુલમ કરનારાઓને તેઓનું પોતાનું જ માંસ ખવડાવીશ; અને જાણે દ્રાક્ષારસ પીધો હોય, તેમ તેઓ પોતાનું જ રક્ત પીને છાકટા થશે; અને ત્યારે સર્વ માનવજાત જાણશે કે હું, યહોવાહ, તારો ઉદ્ધારનાર અને તારો બચાવ કરનાર છું, હું યાકૂબનો સમર્થ ઈશ્વર છું.”
