Hebrews 2

1 Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.

Por lo cual es menester que tanto con más diligencia estemos atentos a las cosas que hemos oído, porque no nos escurramos.

2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

Porque si la palabra dicha por el ministerio de los ángeles fue firme, y toda transgresión y desobediencia recibió justa paga de su galardón,

3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,

¿Cómo escaparemos nosotros, si tuviéremos en poco una salud tan grande? la cual habiendo primero comenzado a ser publicada por el Señor, ha sido confirmada hasta nosotros por los que le oyeron a él mismo:

4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

Testificando juntamente con ellos Dios con señales, y maravillas, y con diversos milagros, y dones del Espíritu Santo, repartiéndolos según su voluntad.

5 For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.

Porque no sujetó a los ángeles el mundo venidero, del cual hablamos.

6 But one has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?

Testificó empero uno en cierto lugar, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre que te acuerdas de él, o el hijo del hombre que le visitas?

7 You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.

Hicístele un poco menor que los ángeles, coronástele de gloria y de honra, y pusístele sobre las obras de tus manos.

8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t yet see all things subjected to him.

Todas las cosas sujetaste debajo de sus pies. Porque en cuanto le sujetó todas las cosas, nada dejó que no sea sujeto a él. Mas ahora no vemos todavía que todas las cosas le sean sujetas.

9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.

Empero vemos a aquel mismo Jesús, que fue hecho un poco menor que los ángeles por pasión de muerte, coronado de gloria y de honra, para que por la gracia de Dios gustase la muerte por todos.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Porque convenía, que aquel por cuya causa son todas las cosas, y por el cual son todas las cosas, habiendo de llevar muchos hijos a la gloria, hiciese consumado al príncipe de la salud de ellos por medio de padecimientos.

11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,

Porque el que santifica y los que son santificados de uno son todos; por cuya causa no se avergüenza de llamarlos hermanos,

12 saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the congregation I will sing your praise.”

Diciendo: Anunciaré tu nombre a mis hermanos, en medio de la iglesia salmearte he.

13 Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”

Y otra vez: Yo confiaré en él. Y otra vez: He aquí yo, y los hijos que me dio Dios.

14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Así que por cuanto los hijos participan de la carne y de la sangre, también él de la misma manera participó de las mismas cosas; para que por medio de la muerte redujese a la impotencia al que tenía la potencia de la muerte, es a saber, al diablo;

15 and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Y librar a los que por el temor de la muerte estaban por toda la vida sujetos a servidumbre.

16 For most certainly, he doesn’t give help to angels, but he gives help to the offspring of Abraham.

Que ciertamente no toma a los ángeles, mas toma a la simiente de Abraham.

17 Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

Por lo cual fue necesario que en todo semejase a sus hermanos, para que fuese un sumo sacerdote misericordioso y fiel en lo perteneciente a Dios, a fin de expiar los pecados del pueblo.

18 For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

Porque en cuanto él mismo padeció, siendo tentado, es poderoso para también socorrer a los que son tentados.
