Hebrews 12
1 Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us,
അതുകൊണ്ടു സാക്ഷികളുടെ ഇത്ര വലിയൊരു സമൂഹം നമ്മുടെ ചുറ്റിലുമുള്ളതിനാൽ നമ്മുടെ മുന്നേറ്റത്തെ തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന സർവതും, വിശേഷാൽ നമ്മെ ക്ഷണനേരംകൊണ്ട് കുടുക്കിലാക്കുന്ന പാപങ്ങൾ, അതിജീവിച്ച് സ്ഥിരോത്സാഹത്തോടെ നമ്മുടെമുമ്പിലുള്ള ഓട്ടം ഓടാം.
2 looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭകനും അതിന് പരിപൂർണത വരുത്തുന്നയാളുമായ യേശുവിൽ ദൃഷ്ടി ഉറപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് നാം ഇതു ചെയ്യേണ്ടത്. തന്റെ മുമ്പിലെ ആനന്ദമോർത്ത്, അവിടന്ന് അപമാനം അവഗണിച്ച് ക്രൂശിനെ സഹിക്കുകയും ദൈവസിംഹാസനത്തിന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്ത് ഉപവിഷ്ടനാകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
3 For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.
നിങ്ങൾ ജീവിതത്തിൽ പരിക്ഷീണിതരും മനസ്സു തളർന്നവരും ആകാതിരിക്കാൻ അവിടന്ന് പാപികളിൽനിന്നു സഹിച്ച ഇതുപോലെയുള്ള എല്ലാ വ്യഥകളും ചിന്തിക്കുക.
4 You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin.
പാപത്തോടുള്ള പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ രക്തം ചൊരിയുന്നതുവരെ നിങ്ങൾ ചെറുത്തുനിന്നിട്ടില്ല.
5 You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, “My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;
“എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, കർത്താവിന്റെ ശിക്ഷണം നിസ്സാരമായി കരുതരുത്, അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ ശാസിക്കുമ്പോൾ ധൈര്യം വെടിയരുത്.
6 for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and chastises every son whom he receives.”
കർത്താവ് താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, താൻ പുത്രനായി സ്വീകരിച്ച സകലരെയും ശിക്ഷിച്ചു നന്നാക്കുന്നു,” എന്നിങ്ങനെ, ഒരു പിതാവ് പുത്രനോട് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളോടു സംവദിക്കുന്ന പ്രബോധനം നിങ്ങൾ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞോ?
7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline?
ദൈവം തന്റെ മക്കളോട് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളോടു പെരുമാറുന്നു; ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഈ ശിക്ഷ സഹിക്കുക. സ്വപിതാവ് ശിക്ഷിക്കാത്ത മകൻ ആരുണ്ട്?
8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not children.
എല്ലാവർക്കും ലഭിക്കുന്ന ശിക്ഷ നിങ്ങൾക്കും ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തം മക്കളല്ല; ജാരസന്തതികളാണ്.
9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
നമ്മുടെ ലൗകികപിതാക്കന്മാർ നമുക്ക് ബാല്യത്തിൽ ശിക്ഷ നൽകിയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ അവരെ നാം ബഹുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ നമ്മുടെ ആത്മാക്കളുടെ പിതാവിനു നാം എത്രയധികം കീഴടങ്ങി ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്!
10 For they indeed for a few days disciplined us as seemed good to them, but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.
അവർ തങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉത്തമമെന്നു തോന്നിയ വിധത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നു നമ്മെ അൽപ്പകാലത്തേക്ക് ശിക്ഷയ്ക്കു വിധേയരാക്കിയത്; ദൈവമോ, നമ്മുടെ പ്രയോജനത്തിനായി—നാം അവിടത്തെ വിശുദ്ധിയിൽ പങ്കാളികൾ ആകേണ്ടതിന്—നമുക്ക് ബാലശിക്ഷ നൽകുന്നു.
11 All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
ഏതുതരം ശിക്ഷയും തൽക്കാലത്തേക്ക് ആനന്ദകരമല്ല, ദുഃഖകരമാണെന്ന് തോന്നും. ഇതിലൂടെ പരിശീലനം സിദ്ധിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് നീതിപൂർവമായ ഒരു സമാധാനഫലം പിന്നീടു ലഭിക്കും.
12 Therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees,
അതുകൊണ്ട് തളർന്ന കൈകളും ദുർബലമായ കാൽമുട്ടുകളും ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുക.
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
അങ്ങനെ, മുടന്തുള്ള കാലിന് ഉളുക്കുകൂടി വരാതെ സൗഖ്യമാകേണ്ടതിനു “നിങ്ങളുടെ പാദങ്ങൾക്കു പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുക.”
14 Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord,
സകലമനുഷ്യരോടും സമാധാനം ആചരിച്ച് വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കാൻ പരിശ്രമിക്കുക; വിശുദ്ധിയില്ലാതെ ആരും കർത്താവിനെ കാണുകയില്ല.
15 looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you and many be defiled by it,
ആരും ദൈവകൃപയിൽ കുറവുള്ളവരാകാതിരിക്കാനും കയ്‌പുള്ള വല്ല വേരും മുളച്ചു വളർന്ന് കലക്കമുണ്ടായി അനേകർ മലിനരാകാതിരിക്കാനും സൂക്ഷിക്കുക.
16 lest there be any sexually immoral person or profane person, like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal.
ആരും വിഷയാസക്തരോ, ഒരു ഊണിനു സ്വന്തം ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞ ഏശാവിനെപ്പോലെ അഭക്തനോ ആകാതെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക.
17 For you know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for a change of mind though he sought it diligently with tears.
പിന്നീട് സ്വപിതാവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം അവകാശമാക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടും അയാൾ പുറന്തള്ളപ്പെട്ടു. കണ്ണുനീരോടെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചെങ്കിലും തനിക്കു കൈവിട്ടുപോയത് തിരികെ നേടാൻ അവസരം ലഭിച്ചില്ല എന്നും നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ.
18 For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm,
സ്പർശിക്കാവുന്നതും ആളിക്കത്തുന്ന തീയുള്ളതുമായ പർവതത്തെയോ ഘോരതമസ്സിനെയോ ഇരുട്ടിനെയോ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റിനെയോ
19 the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them,
കാഹളധ്വനിയെയോ “ഇനി ഒരു വാക്കും ഞങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കരുതേ,” എന്നു കേട്ടവർ കെഞ്ചിയ ശബ്ദഘോഷണത്തെയോ അല്ല നിങ്ങൾ സമീപിക്കുന്നത്.
20 for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”.
“ഒരു മൃഗമാണെങ്കിൽപോലും പർവതത്തെ തൊട്ടാൽ അതിനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞുകൊല്ലണം” എന്ന കൽപ്പന അവർക്ക് അസഹനീയമായിരുന്നു.
21 So fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.”
ആ കാഴ്ച അത്യന്തം ഭയാനകമായിരുന്നതിനാൽ മോശയും “ഞാൻ ഭീതിയാൽ നടുങ്ങുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,
എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത് സീയോൻ പർവതത്തിൽ; ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നഗരമായ സ്വർഗീയജെറുശലേമിൽ ആണ്. അവിടെ സംഖ്യാതീതമായ, ബഹുസഹസ്രം ദൂതന്മാരുടെ സന്തുഷ്ട സമ്മേളനത്തിലേക്കും
23 to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
സ്വർഗത്തിൽ പേരു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള ആദ്യജാതരുടെ സഭയിലേക്കും എല്ലാവരുടെയും ന്യായാധിപതിയായ ദൈവത്തിനും സിദ്ധന്മാരാക്കപ്പെട്ട നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കൾക്കും
24 to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.
പുതിയ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ മധ്യസ്ഥനായ യേശുവിനും ഹാബേലിന്റെ രക്തത്തെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്ന, തളിക്കപ്പെട്ട രക്തത്തിനും സമീപത്തേക്കാണ് നിങ്ങൾ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്.
25 See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,
അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്ന ദൈവത്തെ തിരസ്കരിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. ഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു മുന്നറിയിപ്പു നൽകിയവനെ നിരാകരിച്ചവർ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടില്ലെങ്കിൽ, സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് മുന്നറിയിപ്പരുളിയ ദൈവത്തെ അവഗണിച്ചാൽ രക്ഷപ്പെടാനുള്ള സാധ്യത തീരെ തുച്ഛമല്ലേ?
26 whose voice shook the earth then, but now he has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.”
അന്ന് അവിടത്തെ ശബ്ദം ഭൂമിയെ നടുക്കി. ഇപ്പോഴോ, “ഞാൻ ഇനി ഒരിക്കൽക്കൂടി, ഭൂമിയെമാത്രമല്ല, ആകാശത്തെയും ഇളക്കും” എന്ന് അവിടന്ന് വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
27 This phrase, “Yet once more” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain.
അവിടത്തെ സൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ചഞ്ചലമായതിനെ നിഷ്കാസനംചെയ്ത് അചഞ്ചലമായതിനെ നിലനിർത്തും എന്നാണ് “ഇനി ഒരിക്കൽക്കൂടി” എന്ന വാക്കുകൾകൊണ്ടു വിവക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്.
28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
ആകയാൽ നമുക്ക് അചഞ്ചലമായ ഒരു രാജ്യം ലഭിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്, നാം കൃതജ്ഞതയുള്ളവരായി ദൈവത്തിനു സ്വീകാര്യമാകുമാറ് ഭയഭക്തിയോടുകൂടി അവിടത്തെ ആരാധിക്കാം;
29 for our God is a consuming fire.
“നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം ഭസ്മീകരിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിയല്ലോ.”
