Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came by Haggai the prophet, to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
En el año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, en el primer día del mes, fue palabra de Jehová por mano del profeta Aggeo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá; y a Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, diciendo:
2 “This is what Yahweh of Armies says: These people say, ‘The time hasn’t yet come, the time for Yahweh’s house to be built.’”
Jehová de los ejércitos habla así, diciendo: Este pueblo dice: No es aun venido el tiempo, el tiempo de la casa de Jehová para edificarse.
3 Then Yahweh’s word came by Haggai the prophet, saying,
Fue pues palabra de Jehová por mano del profeta Aggeo, diciendo:
4 “Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies waste?
¿Tenéis vosotros tiempo, vosotros, para morar en vuestras casas dobladas, y esta casa será desierta?
5 Now therefore this is what Yahweh of Armies says: ‘Consider your ways.
Pues así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Pensád bien sobre vuestros caminos:
6 You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you don’t have enough. You drink, but you aren’t filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes in it.’
Sembráis mucho, y encerráis poco: coméis, y no os hartáis: bebéis, y no os embriagáis: os vestís, y no os calentáis; y el que anda a jornal, recibe su jornal en trapo horadado.
7 “This is what Yahweh of Armies says: ‘Consider your ways.
Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Pensád bien sobre vuestros caminos.
8 Go up to the mountain, bring wood, and build the house. I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified,” says Yahweh.
Subíd al monte, y traed madera, y edificád la casa; y pondré en ella mi voluntad, y honrarme he con ella, dijo Jehová.
9 “You looked for much, and, behold, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says Yahweh of Armies, “Because of my house that lies waste, while each of you is busy with his own house.
Miraréis a mucho, y hallaréis poco; y encerraréis en casa, y yo lo soplaré. ¿Por qué? dijo Jehová de los ejércitos. Por cuanto mi casa está desierta, y cada uno de vosotros corre a su casa.
10 Therefore for your sake the heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit.
Por esto se detuvo la lluvia de los cielos sobre vosotros, y la tierra detuvo sus frutos.
11 I called for a drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on that which the ground produces, on men, on livestock, and on all the labor of the hands.”
Y llamé a la sequedad sobre esta tierra, y sobre los montes, y sobre el trigo, y sobre el vino, y sobre el aceite, y sobre todo lo que la tierra produce; y sobre los hombres, y sobre las bestias, y sobre todo trabajo de manos.
12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed Yahweh their God’s voice, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God had sent him; and the people feared Yahweh.
Y oyó Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, y todo el demás pueblo la voz de Jehová su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Aggeo, como le había enviado Jehová el Dios de ellos; y temió el pueblo delante de Jehová.
13 Then Haggai, Yahweh’s messenger, spoke Yahweh’s message to the people, saying, “I am with you,” says Yahweh.
Y habló Aggeo embajador de Jehová en la embajada de Jehová al pueblo, diciendo: Yo con vosotros, dijo Jehová.
14 Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of Yahweh of Armies, their God,
Y despertó Jehová el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y el espíritu de Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, y el espíritu de todo el resto del pueblo, y vinieron, e hicieron obra en la casa de Jehová de los ejércitos su Dios,
15 in the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
En el día veinte y cuatro del mes sexto, en el segundo año del rey Darío.
