Galatians 5
1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Cristo realmente nos hizo libres: entonces mantén tu condición libre y que nadie te vuelva a poner el yugo de la esclavitud.
2 Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.
Mira, yo Pablo te digo, que si te sometes a la circuncisión, Cristo no te servirá de nada.
3 Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
doy testimonio otra vez a todo hombre que se somete a la circuncisión, que tendrá que guardar toda la ley.
4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
Eres desligado de Cristo, tú que te justificas por la ley; están alejados de la gracia de Cristo, se han separado del amor de Dios.
5 For we through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
Pues nosotros por el Espíritu esperamos por la Fe la esperanza de la justicia;
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.
Porque en Cristo Jesús, tener circuncisión o no tener la circuncisión tampoco tiene ningún beneficio; pero sólo la fe trabajando a través del amor.
7 You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?
Estabas yendo bien; ¿Quién fue la causa de que no prestes atención a lo que es verdad?
8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
No fue cosa de Dios, que los ha llamado.
9 A little yeast grows through the whole lump.
Un poco de levadura hace un cambio en toda la masa.
10 I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.
Estoy seguro acerca de ustedes en el Señor, que no serás de otra opinión; pero el que los molesta tendrá su castigo, sea quien sea.
11 But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.
Pero yo, hermanos, si todavía estuviera predicando la circuncisión; los judíos no me perseguirían, ya que en ese caso el mensaje de la cruz de Cristo, no los ofendería.
12 I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.
Mi deseo es que aquellos que te causan problemas se castraran a sí mismos.
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
Porque ustedes, hermanos, se marcaron para ser libres; solo no hagas uso de tu condición libre para darle a la carne su oportunidad, sino que a través del amor sean siervos unos de otros.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Porque toda la ley se completa en una sola palabra, incluso en esto: Ten amor por tu prójimo como por ti mismo.
15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another.
Pero si se muerden y se comen unos a otros tengan cuidado de no ser causa de destrucción el uno para el otro.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Pero yo digo: Continúen en el Espíritu, y no caerán bajo el dominio de los malos deseos de la carne.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
Porque la carne tiene deseos contra el Espíritu, y el Espíritu contra la carne; porque estos son opuestos el uno al otro; para que no hagas las cosas que tienes que hacer.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Pero si eres guiado por el Espíritu, no estás bajo la ley.
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,
Ahora las obras de la carne son claras, que son éstas: adulterio, fornicación, inmundicias, lascivias,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
Adoración de imágenes, brujería, odio, pleitos, deseo por lo que otro tiene, sentimientos de ira, intentos para vencer a los demás, las divisiones, las enseñanzas falsas,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
La envidia, borracheras y los banquetes incontrolables, y cosas por el estilo: de lo cual les digo claramente, como lo hice en el pasado, que los que hacen tales cosas no tendrán parte. en el reino de Dios.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,
Pero el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, actos amables, bondad, fe,
23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
humildad, control sobre los deseos: contra tales no hay ley.
24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
Y los que son de Cristo han dado muerte en la cruz a la carne con sus pasiones y sus malos deseos.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.
Si estamos viviendo por el Espíritu, por el Espíritu, seamos guiados.
26 Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
No nos llenemos de gloria propia, enojándonos unos a otros, envidiándonos los unos a los otros.
