Acts 3
1 Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Pierre et Jean montaient un jour au Temple pour la prière de la neuvième heure;
2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.
or, il y avait un homme estropié de naissance que, tous les jours, on apportait et on déposait à la porte du Temple dite «La Belle», pour demander l'aumône à ceux qui entraient.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
Voyant Pierre et Jean qui allaient pénétrer dans le Temple, il s'adressa à eux pour recevoir une aumône.
4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”
Pierre arrêta sur lui son regard, ainsi que Jean: «Regarde-nous, lui dit-il.»
5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Lui les fixait attentivement, s'attendant à recevoir quelque chose.
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
Mais Pierre continua: «Je n'ai ni argent ni or, mais ce que j'ai, je te le donne; au nom de Jésus-Christ de Nazareth, marche!»
7 He took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.
En même temps il lui prenait la main droite et le levait; immédiatement ses pieds et ses chevilles devinrent fermes;
8 Leaping up, he stood and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.
d'un saut il se mit debout; il marchait! et il entra avec eux dans le Temple, marchant, sautant et louant Dieu.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.
Tout le peuple le vit marcher et louer Dieu,
10 They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
chacun le reconnaissait; c'était bien lui, l'homme qui demandait l'aumône assis à «La Belle Porte» du Temple; complète était la stupéfaction comme l'enthousiasme de ce qui lui était arrivé.
11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
Cet homme ne quittant pas Pierre et Jean, c'est vers eux, au portique dit de Salomon, qu'accourut tout le peuple, confondu de surprise.
12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?
Voyant cela, Pierre s'adressa ainsi à la foule: «Hommes d'Israël, Pourquoi vous étonnez-vous de ce qui vient de se passer? Pourquoi nous regardez-vous avec cette insistance, comme si c'était nous, par nos propres forces ou par notre piété, qui avions fait, marcher cet homme?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
Le Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères a glorifié son serviteur Jésus que vous, vous avez livré et que vous avez renié devant Pilate, et cela, quand lui, il voulait le relâcher!
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
Oui, vous avez renié le Saint et le Juste, et vous avez demandé la grâce d'un meurtrier,
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
vous avez tué l'auteur de la vie, que Dieu a ressuscité d'entre les morts, et nous, nous sommes ses témoins.
16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
C'est par la foi en son nom que ce nom a guéri l'homme que vous voyez et connaissez; la foi qui agit par lui a donné à cet homme, et en votre présence à tous, une guérison complète.»
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
«Je sais d'ailleurs, frères, que vous avez fait tout cela dans votre ignorance et vos magistrats aussi.
18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
Dieu a accompli de cette manière ce qu'il avait prédit d'avance par la bouche de tous les prophètes, savoir que son Christ devait souffrir.
19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
Repentez-vous donc et convertissez-vous pour que vos péchés soient effacés et alors pourront venir de la part du Seigneur des temps de rafraîchissement,
20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,
et il vous enverra celui qu'il vous a destiné, Jésus-Christ,
21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets. (aiōn g165)
que le ciel doit recevoir jusqu'à l'époque du rétablissement universel dont Dieu a parlé autrefois par la bouche de ses saints prophètes.» (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.
«D'une part, Moïse a dit: «Le Seigneur notre Dieu vous suscitera d'entre vos frères un prophète semblable à moi, vous l'écouterez dans tout ce qu'il vous dira,
23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
et quiconque n'écoutera pas ce prophète, sera exterminé du milieu du peuple.»
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, also told of these days.
D'autre part, tous les prophètes, depuis Samuel et ses successeurs, ont parlé et ont annoncé ces jours-là.
25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘All the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.’
Vous êtes les fils des prophètes et les héritiers de l'alliance que Dieu, a conclue avec nos pères, disant à Abraham: «Toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité.»
26 God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.”
Pour vous, les premiers, Dieu a suscité son serviteur et l'a envoyé vous bénir en détournant chacun de vous de ses iniquités.»
