Acts 3
1 Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Or Pierre et Jean montaient au temple pour la prière de la neuvième heure,
2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.
et l'on transportait un homme qui était boiteux de naissance et que l'on plaçait chaque jour près de la porte du temple dite la Belle, pour demander l'aumône à ceux qui entraient dans le temple.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
Cet homme, ayant vu Pierre et Jean sur le point d'entrer dans le temple, s'adressa à eux pour recevoir une aumône.
4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”
Mais Pierre, après avoir fixé sur lui ses regards, ainsi que Jean, dit: « Regarde-nous. »
5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Et il les regardait attentivement s'attendant à recevoir d'eux quelque chose.
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
Mais Pierre dit: « Je n'ai ni argent ni or, mais ce que j'ai, je te le donne: au nom de Jésus-Christ le Nazoréen, marche! »
7 He took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.
Et l'ayant pris par la main droite, il le fit lever; aussitôt la plante de ses pieds et ses chevilles se consolidèrent,
8 Leaping up, he stood and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.
et il se tenait debout en sautant, et il marchait, et il entra avec eux dans le temple, marchant et sautant, et louant Dieu.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.
Et tout le peuple le vit marcher et louer Dieu,
10 They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
mais ils le reconnurent pour celui qui était assis, pour demander l'aumône, près de la belle porte du temple, et ils furent remplis de stupeur et de surprise à propos de ce qui lui était arrivé.
11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
Or, comme il s'attachait à Pierre et à Jean, le peuple entier accourut vers eux tout stupéfait dans le portique dit de Salomon;
12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?
ce que Pierre ayant vu, il répliqua au peuple: « Israélites, pourquoi vous étonnez-vous au sujet de cet homme? Ou pourquoi nous regardez-vous fixement, comme si, par notre propre puissance ou notre piété, nous l'avions fait marcher?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
Le Dieu d'Abraham, et d'Isaac, et de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères, a glorifié Son serviteur Jésus, que vous, vous avez livré et renié devant Pilate, lorsque celui-ci résolut de le relâcher;
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
mais c'est vous qui avez renié le saint et le juste, et qui avez demandé qu'on vous accordât la grâce d'un meurtrier,
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
tandis que vous avez fait mourir le prince de la vie que Dieu a ressuscité des morts, ce dont nous sommes témoins.
16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Eh bien, c'est par la foi en son nom que son nom a rétabli cet homme que vous voyez et connaissez, et c'est la foi qui vient de lui qui lui a procuré cette complète guérison en présence de vous tous.
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
Et maintenant, frères, je sais que vous avez agi par ignorance, comme aussi vos chefs;
18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
mais Dieu a accompli de la sorte ce qu'il avait prédit par la bouche de tous les prophètes, à savoir que Son Christ devait souffrir.
19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
Repentez-vous donc et convertissez-vous, pour que vos péchés soient effacés, afin qu'arrivent des époques de rafraîchissement de la part du Seigneur,
20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,
et qu'il envoie celui qui vous a été destiné, Christ Jésus
21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets. (aiōn g165)
que le ciel doit retenir jusques aux temps de restauration universelle, dont Dieu a parlé par la bouche de Ses saints prophètes, de toute ancienneté. (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.
D'un côté Moïse a dit: « Le Seigneur Dieu vous suscitera d'entre vos frères un prophète comme moi; vous l'écouterez dans tout ce qu'il pourra vous dire,
23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
mais il arrivera que quiconque n'écoutera pas ce prophète-là sera exterminé du milieu du peuple. »
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, also told of these days.
Et, d'un autre côté, tous les prophètes qui ont parlé, depuis Samuel et ceux qui l'ont suivi, ont aussi annoncé ces jours-là.
25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘All the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.’
Pour vous, vous êtes les fils des prophètes et de l'alliance que Dieu a conclue avec vos pères, en disant à Abraham: « Et dans ta postérité seront bénies toutes les lignées de la terre.
26 God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.”
C'est à vous, d'abord que Dieu, après avoir suscité Son serviteur Jésus, l'a envoyé pour vous bénir en détournant chacun de ses méfaits. »
