Acts 3
1 Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Pierre et Jean montaient ensemble au temple, à l'heure de la prière: c'était la neuvième heure du jour.
2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.
Il y avait à la porte du temple, appelée la Belle Porte, un homme boiteux de naissance qui s'y faisait transporter et poser chaque jour, pour demander l'aumône à ceux qui entraient.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
Cet homme voyant Pierre et Jean qui allaient entrer dans le temple, leur demanda l'aumône.
4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”
Pierre ayant fixé les yeux sur lui, ainsi que Jean, dit: «Regarde-nous.»
5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Il les regarda attentivement, s'attendant à recevoir d'eux quelque chose.
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
Mais Pierre lui dit: «Je n'ai ni argent, ni or; mais ce que j'ai, je te le donne: au nom de Jésus-Christ de Nazareth, lève-toi et marche.»
7 He took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.
Et l'ayant pris par la main droite, il le fit lever. A l'instant, les plantes et les chevilles de ses pieds furent affermies;
8 Leaping up, he stood and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.
il se leva d'un saut, se tint debout, et marcha; puis il entra avec eux dans le temple, marchant, sautant, et louant Dieu.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.
Tout le peuple le vit marcher et louer Dieu.
10 They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
Ils reconnurent que c'était lui qui était assis à la Belle Porte du temple pour demander l'aumône, et ils furent remplis de surprise et d'étonnement de ce qui lui était arrivé.
11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
Comme cet homme ne quittait pas Pierre et Jean, tout le peuple accourut vers eux au portique appelé Portique de Salomon: la foule était en stupéfaction.
12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?
A cette vue, Pierre dit au peuple: «Israélites, pourquoi cet homme est-il pour vous un sujet d'étonnement? pourquoi tenez-vous les yeux fixés sur nous, comme si c'était par notre propre puissance ou par notre piété que nous l'eussions fait marcher?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
Le Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères a glorifié son serviteur Jésus, que vous avez livré et renié devant Pilate, qui penchait pour qu'on le relâchât;
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
mais vous, vous avez renié le Saint et le Juste, et vous avez sollicité la grâce d'un meurtrier.
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
Vous avez fait mourir l'auteur de la vie, que Dieu a ressuscité des morts, comme nous en sommes témoins.
16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
C'est par la foi en son nom que ce nom a affermi l'homme que vous voyez et que vous connaissez, et c'est la foi, dont nous lui sommes redevables, qui a donné à cet impotent cette complète guérison, en présence de vous tous.
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
Je sais bien, frères, que vous avez agi par ignorance, aussi bien que vos magistrats;
18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
mais Dieu a accompli de la sorte ce qu'il avait annoncé par la bouche de tous ses prophètes, que son Oint devait souffrir.
19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
Repentez-vous donc, et vous convertissez, pour que vos péchés soient effacés, afin que les temps de rafraîchissement viennent de la part du Seigneur,
20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,
et qu'il envoie celui dont il a disposé pour vous, Jésus-Christ,
21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets. (aiōn g165)
que le ciel doit recevoir jusqu’à l'époque de la restauration universelle, dont Dieu a parlé de toute ancienneté par la bouche de ses saints prophètes. (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.
Moïse a dit: «Le Seigneur votre Dieu vous suscitera d'entre vos frères un prophète comme moi; vous l’écouterez dans tout ce qu’il vous dira.
23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
Quiconque n'écoutera pas ce prophète sera retranché du milieu du peuple.»
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, also told of these days.
Puis, depuis Samuel et successivement, tous les prophètes qui ont parlé, ont aussi annoncé ces temps-là.
25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘All the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.’
Vous êtes, vous, les fils des prophètes et de l’alliance que Dieu a traitée avec nos pères, en disant à Abraham: «Toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité.»
26 God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.”
C'est à vous, tout d'abord, que Dieu; après avoir suscité son Serviteur, l'a envoyé pour vous bénir, et détourner chacun de vous de ses iniquités.»
