Acts 27
1 When it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.
E, como se determinou que haviamos de navegar para a Italia, entregaram Paulo, e alguns outros presos, a um centurião por nome Julio, da cohorte augusta.
2 Embarking in a ship of Adramyttium, which was about to sail to places on the coast of Asia, we put to sea, Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica being with us.
E, embarcando nós em um navio adramytino, partimos navegando pelos logares da Asia, estando comnosco Aristarcho, macedonio, de Thessalonica.
3 The next day, we touched at Sidon. Julius treated Paul kindly and gave him permission to go to his friends and refresh himself.
E chegámos no dia seguinte a Sidon, e Julio, tratando Paulo humanamente, lhe permittiu ir ver os amigos, para que cuidassem d'elle.
4 Putting to sea from there, we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
E, partindo d'ali, fomos navegando abaixo de Chypre, porquanto os ventos eram contrarios.
5 When we had sailed across the sea which is off Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
E, tendo atravessado o mar, ao longo da Cilicia e Pamphylia, chegámos a Myrra, na Lycia.
6 There the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing for Italy, and he put us on board.
E, achando ali o centurião um navio de Alexandria, que navegava para a Italia, nos fez embarcar n'elle.
7 When we had sailed slowly many days, and had come with difficulty opposite Cnidus, the wind not allowing us further, we sailed under the lee of Crete, opposite Salmone.
E, indo já por muitos dias navegando vagarosamente, e havendo chegado apenas defronte de Cnido, não nos permittindo o vento ir mais adiante, navegámos abaixo de Creta, junto de Salmone.
8 With difficulty sailing along it we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.
E, costeando-a difficilmente, chegámos a um certo logar chamado Bons Portos, perto do qual estava a cidade de Lasca.
9 When much time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous because the Fast had now already gone by, Paul admonished them
E, passado muito tempo, e sendo já perigosa a navegação, porquanto já tambem o jejum tinha passado, Paulo os admoestava,
10 and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”
Dizendo-lhes: Varões, vejo que a navegação ha de ser incommoda, e com muito damno, não só para o navio e carga, mas tambem para as nossas vidas.
11 But the centurion gave more heed to the master and to the owner of the ship than to those things which were spoken by Paul.
Porém o centurião cria mais no piloto e no mestre, do que no que dizia Paulo.
12 Because the haven was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised going to sea from there, if by any means they could reach Phoenix and winter there, which is a port of Crete, looking southwest and northwest.
E, não sendo aquelle porto commodo para invernar, os mais d'elles foram de parecer que se partisse d'ali para ver se podiam chegar a Phenix, que é um ponto de Creta que olha para a banda do vento da Africa e do Coro, e invernar ali.
13 When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, they weighed anchor and sailed along Crete, close to shore.
E, soprando o sul brandamente, lhes pareceu terem já o que desejavam, e, fazendo-se de vela, foram de muito perto costeando Creta.
14 But before long, a stormy wind beat down from shore, which is called Euroclydon.
Porém não muito depois deu n'ella um pé de vento, chamado euro-aquilão.
15 When the ship was caught and couldn’t face the wind, we gave way to it and were driven along.
E, sendo o navio arrebatado por elle, e não podendo navegar contra o vento, dando de mão a tudo, nos deixámos ir á tôa
16 Running under the lee of a small island called Clauda, we were able, with difficulty, to secure the boat.
E, correndo abaixo de uma pequena ilha chamada Clauda, apenas podémos ganhar o batel,
17 After they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis sand bars, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along.
Levado para cima o qual, usaram de todos os remedios, cingindo o navio; e, temendo darem á costa na Syrte, amainadas as vélas, assim foram á tôa.
18 As we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began to throw things overboard.
E, andando nós agitados por uma vehemente tempestade, no dia seguinte alliviaram o navio.
19 On the third day, they threw out the ship’s tackle with their own hands.
E ao terceiro dia nós mesmos, com as nossas proprias mãos, lançámos ao mar a armação do navio
20 When neither sun nor stars shone on us for many days, and no small storm pressed on us, all hope that we would be saved was now taken away.
E, não apparecendo, havia já muitos dias, nem sol nem estrellas, e opprimindo-nos uma não pequena tempestade, fugiu-nos toda a esperança de nos salvarmos.
21 When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them and said, “Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete and have gotten this injury and loss.
E, havendo já muito que se não comia, então Paulo, pondo-se em pé no meio d'elles, disse: Fôra na verdade razoavel, ó varões, ter-me ouvido a mim e não partir de Creta, e evitar assim este incommodo e esta perdição.
22 Now I exhort you to cheer up, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
Porém agora vos admoesto a que tenhaes bom animo, porque não se perderá a vida de nenhum de vós, mas sómente o navio.
23 For there stood by me this night an angel, belonging to the God whose I am and whom I serve,
Porque esta mesma noite o anjo de Deus, de quem eu sou, e a quem sirvo, esteve comigo,
24 saying, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. Behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’
Dizendo: Paulo, não temas: importa que sejas apresentado a Cesar, e eis que Deus te deu todos quantos navegam comtigo.
25 Therefore, sirs, cheer up! For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me.
Portanto, ó varões, tende bom animo; porque creio em Deus, que ha de acontecer assim como a mim me foi dito.
26 But we must run aground on a certain island.”
Porém é necessario irmos dar n'uma ilha.
27 But when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven back and forth in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors surmised that they were drawing near to some land.
E, quando chegou a decima quarta noite, sendo impellidos de uma e outra banda no mar Adriatico, lá pela meia noite suspeitaram os marinheiros de que estavam proximos d'alguma terra.
28 They took soundings and found twenty fathoms. After a little while, they took soundings again, and found fifteen fathoms.
E, lançando o prumo, acharam vinte braças; e, passando um pouco mais adiante, tornando a lançar o prumo, acharam quinze braças.
29 Fearing that we would run aground on rocky ground, they let go four anchors from the stern, and wished for daylight.
E, temendo ir dar em alguns rochedos, lançaram da pôpa quatro ancoras, desejando que viesse o dia.
30 As the sailors were trying to flee out of the ship and had lowered the boat into the sea, pretending that they would lay out anchors from the bow,
Procurando, porém, os marinheiros fugir do navio, e deitando o batel ao mar, como que querendo lançar as ancoras pela prôa,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, “Unless these stay in the ship, you can’t be saved.”
Disse Paulo ao centurião e aos soldados: Se estes não ficarem no navio, não podereis salvar-vos.
32 Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the boat and let it fall off.
Então os soldados cortaram os cabos do batel, e o deixaram cair.
33 While the day was coming on, Paul begged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you wait and continue fasting, having taken nothing.
E entretanto que o dia vinha, Paulo exhortava a todos a que comessem alguma coisa, dizendo: É já hoje o decimo quarto dia que esperaes, e permaneceis sem comer, não havendo provado nada.
34 Therefore I beg you to take some food, for this is for your safety; for not a hair will perish from any of your heads.”
Portanto, exhorto-vos a que comaes alguma coisa, pois importa para a vossa saude; porque nem um cabello da cabeça de qualquer de vós cairá.
35 When he had said this and had taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all; then he broke it and began to eat.
E, havendo dito isto, tomando o pão, deu graças a Deus na presença de todos; e, partindo-o, começou a comer.
36 Then they all cheered up, and they also took food.
E, tendo já todos bom animo, pozeram-se tambem a comer.
37 In all, we were two hundred seventy-six souls on the ship.
E eramos por todos no navio duzentas e setenta e seis almas.
38 When they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, throwing out the wheat into the sea.
E, refeitos já da comida, alliviaram o navio, lançando o trigo ao mar.
39 When it was day, they didn’t recognize the land, but they noticed a certain bay with a beach, and they decided to try to drive the ship onto it.
E, sendo já dia, não conheceram a terra; porém enxergaram uma enseada que tinha praia, e consultaram-se sobre se deveriam encalhar n'ella o navio.
40 Casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time untying the rudder ropes. Hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.
E, levantando as ancoras, deixaram-n'o ir ao mar, largando tambem as amarras do leme; e, alçando a véla maior ao vento, dirigiram-se para a praia.
41 But coming to a place where two seas met, they ran the vessel aground. The bow struck and remained immovable, but the stern began to break up by the violence of the waves.
Dando, porém, em logar de dois mares, encalharam ali o navio; e, fixa a prôa, ficou immovel, porém a pôpa abria-se com a força das ondas.
42 The soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, so that none of them would swim out and escape.
Então o conselho dos soldados foi que matassem os presos para que nenhum fugisse, escapando a nado.
43 But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, stopped them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should throw themselves overboard first to go toward the land;
Porém o centurião, querendo salvar a Paulo, lhes estorvou este intento; e mandou que os que podessem nadar se lançassem primeiro ao mar, e se salvassem em terra;
44 and the rest should follow, some on planks and some on other things from the ship. So they all escaped safely to the land.
E os demais, uns em taboas e outros em coisas do navio. E assim aconteceu que todos se salvaram em terra.
