Acts 26
1 Agrippa said to Paul, “You may speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand, and made his defense.
അഗ്രിപ്പാവു പൌലൊസിനോടു: നിന്റെ കാൎയ്യം പറവാൻ അനുവാദം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസ് കൈനീട്ടി പ്രതിവാദിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, that I am to make my defense before you today concerning all the things that I am accused by the Jews,
അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, യെഹൂദന്മാർ എന്റെ മേൽ ചുമത്തുന്ന എല്ലാ കുറ്റങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു ഇന്നു തിരുമുമ്പാകെ പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാൻ ഇടവന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,
3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently.
വിശേഷാൽ നീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലെ ആചാരങ്ങളും തൎക്കങ്ങളും എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവൻ ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രതിവാദം ക്ഷമയോടേ കേൾക്കേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
4 “Indeed, all the Jews know my way of life from my youth up, which was from the beginning among my own nation and at Jerusalem;
എന്റെ ജാതിക്കാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ആദിമുതൽ ബാല്യംതുടങ്ങിയുള്ള എന്റെ നടപ്പു യെഹൂദന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും അറിയുന്നു.
5 having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
ഞാൻ നമ്മുടെ മാൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽ സൂക്ഷ്മത ഏറിയ മതഭേദപ്രകാരം പരീശനായി ജീവിച്ചു എന്നു അവർ ആദിമുതൽ അറിയുന്നു; അവൎക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയാം.
6 Now I stand here to be judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers,
ദൈവത്താൽ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാൎക്കു ലഭിച്ചതും
7 which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving night and day, hope to attain. Concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, King Agrippa!
നമ്മുടെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ഗോത്രങ്ങളും രാപ്പകൽ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ആരാധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു എത്തിപ്പിടിപ്പാൻ ആശിക്കുന്നതും ആയ വാഗ്ദത്തത്തിലുള്ള പ്രത്യാശഹേതുവായിട്ടത്രേ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ വിസ്താരത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതു. ആ പ്രത്യാശയെച്ചൊല്ലി ആകുന്നു, രാജാവേ, യെഹൂദന്മാർ എന്റെമേൽ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നതു.
8 Why is it judged incredible with you if God does raise the dead?
ദൈവം മരിച്ചവരെ ഉയിൎപ്പിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമല്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നുന്നതു എന്തു?
9 “I myself most certainly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
നസറായനായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി പലതും പ്രവൎത്തിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാനും വിചാരിച്ചു സത്യം.
10 I also did this in Jerusalem. I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.
അതു ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ചെയ്തിട്ടുമുണ്ടു; മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു അധികാരപത്രം വാങ്ങി വിശുദ്ധന്മാരിൽ പലരെയും തടവിൽ ആക്കി അടെച്ചു; അവരെ നിഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന സമയം ഞാനും സമ്മതം കൊടുത്തു.
11 Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.
ഞാൻ എല്ലാ പള്ളികളിലും അവരെ പലപ്പോഴും ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ദൂഷണം പറവാൻ നിൎബന്ധിക്കയും അവരുടെ നേരെ അത്യന്തം ഭ്രാന്തുപിടിച്ചു അന്യപട്ടണങ്ങളോളവും ചെന്നു അവരെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
12 “Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests,
ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തുവരികയിൽ ഞാൻ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അധികാരത്തോടും ആജ്ഞയോടും കൂടെ ദമസ്കൊസിലേക്കു യാത്രപോകുമ്പോൾ,
13 at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me.
രാജാവേ, നട്ടുച്ചെക്കു ഞാൻ വഴിയിൽവെച്ചു സൂൎയ്യന്റെ പ്രകാശത്തെ കവിഞ്ഞൊരു വെളിച്ചം ആകാശത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നെയും എന്നോടു കൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെയും ചുറ്റി പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
14 When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും നിലത്തു വീണപ്പോൾ: ശൌലേ, ശൌലേ, നീ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? മുള്ളിന്റെ നേരെ ഉതെക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു വിഷമം ആകുന്നു എന്നു എബ്രായഭാഷയിൽ എന്നോടു പറയുന്നൊരു ശബ്ദം ഞാൻ കേട്ടു.
15 “I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
നീ ആരാകുന്നു കൎത്താവേ, എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു കൎത്താവു: നീ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്ന യേശു തന്നേ ഞാൻ;
16 But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will reveal to you;
എങ്കിലും എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിവിൎന്നു നിൽക്ക; നീ എന്നെ കണ്ടതിന്നും ഇനി ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷൻ ആവാനിരിക്കുന്നതിന്നും നിന്നെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനും സാക്ഷിയുമായി നിയമിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.
17 delivering you from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you,
ജനത്തിന്റെയും ജാതികളുടെയും കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും.
18 to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
അവൎക്കു പാപമോചനവും എന്നിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താൽ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവകാശവും ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറപ്പാനും അവരെ ഇരുളിൽനിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്കും സാത്താന്റെ അധികാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കും തിരിപ്പാനും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്നെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,
അതുകൊണ്ടു അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, ഞാൻ സ്വൎഗ്ഗീയദൎശനത്തിന്നു അനുസരണക്കേടു കാണിക്കാതെ
20 but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
ആദ്യം ദമസ്കൊസിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തെങ്ങും ഉള്ളവരോടും പിന്നെ ജാതികളോടും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യമായ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
21 For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me.
ഇതു നിമിത്തം യെഹൂദന്മാർ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ വെച്ചു എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു കൊല്ലുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.
22 Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen,
എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഹായം ലഭിക്കയാൽ ഞാൻ ഇന്നുവരെ നിൽക്കയും ചെറിയവരോടും വലിയവരോടും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു പോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
23 how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.”
ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൽ ആദ്യനായി ജനത്തോടും ജാതികളോടും വെളിച്ചം അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പ്രവാചകന്മാരും മോശെയും ഭാവികാലത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതൊഴികെ വേറെയൊന്നും ഞാൻ പറയുന്നില്ല.
24 As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!”
ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രതിവാദിക്കയിൽ ഫെസ്തൊസ്: പൌലൊസേ, നിനക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു; വിദ്യാബഹുത്വത്താൽ നിനക്കു ഭ്രാന്തു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.
25 But he said, “I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness.
അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്: രാജശ്രീ ഫെസ്തൊസേ, എനിക്കു ഭ്രാന്തില്ല; ഞാൻ സത്യവും സുബോധവുമായ വാക്കത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു.
26 For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner.
രാജാവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവനോടു ഞാൻ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഇതു ഒന്നും മറവായിരിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു എനിക്കു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ടു; അതു ഒരു കോണിൽ നടന്നതല്ല.
27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe.”
അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
28 Agrippa said to Paul, “With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?”
അഗ്രിപ്പാ പൌലൊസിനോടു: ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയായിത്തീരുവാൻ നീ എന്നെ അല്പംകൊണ്ടു സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 Paul said, “I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me today, might become such as I am, except for these bonds.”
അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്: നീ മാത്രമല്ല, ഇന്നു എന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേൾക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാവരും അല്പംകൊണ്ടാകട്ടെ അധികം കൊണ്ടാകട്ടെ ഈ ചങ്ങല ഒഴികെ എന്നെപ്പോലെ ആകേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
30 The king rose up with the governor and Bernice, and those who sat with them.
അപ്പോൾ രാജാവും ദേശാധിപതിയും ബെൎന്നീക്കയും അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നവരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു മാറി നിന്നു:
31 When they had withdrawn, they spoke to one another, saying, “This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.”
ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ മരണത്തിന്നോ ചങ്ങലെക്കോ യോഗ്യമായതു ഒന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
32 Agrippa said to Festus, “This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.”
കൈസരെ അഭയം ചൊല്ലിയിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു അഗ്രിപ്പാവു ഫെസ്തൊസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
