Acts 21
1 When we had departed from them and had set sail, we came with a straight course to Cos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.
Y fue que como navegamos habiéndonos arrancado de ellos, vinimos camino derecho a Coos, y el día siguiente a Rodas, y de allí a Patara.
2 Having found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we went aboard and set sail.
Y hallando una nave que pasaba a Fenicia, nos embarcamos, y partimos.
3 When we had come in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left hand, we sailed to Syria and landed at Tyre, for the ship was there to unload her cargo.
Y como comenzó a mostrársenos Chipre, dejándola a mano izquierda, navegamos a Siria, y vinimos a Tiro; porque la nave había de descargar allí su carga.
4 Having found disciples, we stayed there seven days. These said to Paul through the Spirit that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
Y nos quedamos allí siete días, habiendo hallado discípulos, los cuales decían a Pablo por el Espíritu, que no subiese a Jerusalem.
5 When those days were over, we departed and went on our journey. They all, with wives and children, brought us on our way until we were out of the city. Kneeling down on the beach, we prayed.
Y cumplidos aquellos días, nos partimos, acompañándonos todos con sus mujeres e hijos hasta fuera de la ciudad; y puestos de rodillas en la ribera, oramos.
6 After saying goodbye to each other, we went on board the ship, and they returned home again.
Y abrazándonos los unos a los otros, subimos en la nave, y ellos se volvieron a sus casas.
7 When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais. We greeted the brothers and stayed with them one day.
Y nosotros, cumplida la navegación, vinimos de Tiro a Tolemaida, y habiendo saludado a los hermanos, nos quedamos con ellos un día.
8 On the next day, we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea. We entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.
Y al otro día, partidos Pablo y los que con él estábamos, vinimos a Cesarea; y entrando en casa de Felipe el evangelista, el cual era uno de los siete, posamos con él.
9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
Y éste tenía cuatro hijas vírgenes que profetizaban.
10 As we stayed there some days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
Y quedándonos allí por muchos días, descendió de Judea un profeta llamado Agabo.
11 Coming to us and taking Paul’s belt, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘So the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt, and will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”
El cual como vino a nosotros, tomó el ceñidor de Pablo, y atándose los pies y las manos, dijo: Esto dice el Espíritu Santo: Al varón, cuyo es este ceñidor, así le atarán los Judíos en Jerusalem, y le entregarán en manos de los Gentiles.
12 When we heard these things, both we and the people of that place begged him not to go up to Jerusalem.
Lo cual como oímos, le rogamos nosotros, y los de aquel lugar, que no subiese a Jerusalem.
13 Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Entonces Pablo respondió: ¿Qué hacéis llorando, y quebrantándome el corazón? porque yo estoy presto no solo a ser atado, mas aun a morir en Jerusalem por el nombre del Señor Jesús.
14 When he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The Lord’s will be done.”
Y como no le pudimos persuadir, cesamos de instarle, diciendo: Hágase la voluntad del Señor.
15 After these days we took up our baggage and went up to Jerusalem.
Y después de estos días, apercibidos, subimos a Jerusalem.
16 Some of the disciples from Caesarea also went with us, bringing one Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we would stay.
Y vinieron también con nosotros de Cesarea algunos de los discípulos, trayendo consigo a un Mnasón de Chipre, discípulo antiguo con el cual posásemos.
17 When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly.
Y como llegamos a Jerusalem, los hermanos nos recibieron de buena voluntad.
18 The day following, Paul went in with us to James; and all the elders were present.
Y el día siguiente Pablo entró con nosotros a Santiago, y todos los ancianos se juntaron.
19 When he had greeted them, he reported one by one the things which God had worked among the Gentiles through his ministry.
Y habiéndolos saludado, les contó por menudo lo que Dios había hecho entre los Gentiles por su ministerio.
20 They, when they heard it, glorified God. They said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law.
Y ellos como lo oyeron, glorificaron al Señor; y le dijeron: Ya ves, hermano, cuantos millares de Judíos hay que han creído; y todos son celadores de la ley:
21 They have been informed about you, that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children and not to walk after the customs.
Y han oído decir de ti, que enseñas a apartarse de Moisés a todos los Judíos que están entre los Gentiles, diciendo, que no han de circuncidar a sus hijos, ni andar según las costumbres.
22 What then? The assembly must certainly meet, for they will hear that you have come.
¿Qué, pues, se ha de hacer? En todo caso la multitud ha de juntarse; porque oirán que has venido.
23 Therefore do what we tell you. We have four men who have taken a vow.
Haz, pues, esto que te decimos: Tenemos cuatro varones que tienen voto sobre sí:
24 Take them and purify yourself with them, and pay their expenses for them, that they may shave their heads. Then all will know that there is no truth in the things that they have been informed about you, but that you yourself also walk keeping the law.
Tomando a estos, santifícate con ellos, y gasta con ellos para que raigan sus cabezas; y que entiendan todos que no hay nada de lo que de ti han oído decir; sino que tú mismo andas también según orden, y guardas la ley.
25 But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written our decision that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from food offered to idols, from blood, from strangled things, and from sexual immorality.”
Empero en cuanto a los que de los Gentiles han creído, nosotros hemos escrito; y determinamos, que no guarden nada de esto: solamente que se abstengan de lo que fuere sacrificado a los ídolos, y de sangre, y de estrangulado, y de fornicación.
26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purified himself and went with them into the temple, declaring the fulfillment of the days of purification, until the offering was offered for every one of them.
Entonces Pablo, tomó a aquellos varones, y el día siguiente santificado con ellos, entró en el templo, anunciando ser cumplidos los días de la santificación, hasta ser ofrecida ofrenda por cada uno de ellos.
27 When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the multitude and laid hands on him,
Y como se acababan los siete días, unos Judíos de Asia, como le vieron en el templo, alborotaron todo el pueblo, y le echaron mano,
28 crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place. Moreover, he also brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”
Dando voces, y diciendo: Varones Israelitas ayudád: éste es el hombre que por todas partes enseña a todos contra el pueblo, y contra la ley, y contra este lugar; y aun además de esto ha metido los Gentiles en el templo, y ha contaminado este santo lugar.
29 For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian, with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
(Porque habían visto antes a Trófimo Efesio en la ciudad con él, el cual pensaban que Pablo había metido en el templo.)
30 All the city was moved and the people ran together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple. Immediately the doors were shut.
Así que toda la ciudad se alborotó, y se hizo un concurso de pueblo; y tomando a Pablo le llevaban arrastrando fuera del templo, y luego las puertas fueron cerradas.
31 As they were trying to kill him, news came up to the commanding officer of the regiment that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
Y procurando ellos de matarle, fue dado aviso al tribuno de la compañía, que toda Jerusalem estaba alborotada.
32 Immediately he took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. They, when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, stopped beating Paul.
El cual luego tomando soldados y centuriones, corrió a ellos. Y ellos como vieron al tribuno y a los soldados, cesaron de golpear a Pablo.
33 Then the commanding officer came near, arrested him, commanded him to be bound with two chains, and inquired who he was and what he had done.
Entonces llegando el tribuno, le prendió, y le mandó atar con dos cadenas; y le preguntó quién era, y que había hecho.
34 Some shouted one thing and some another, among the crowd. When he couldn’t find out the truth because of the noise, he commanded him to be brought into the barracks.
Y unos gritaban una cosa, y otros, otra, de entre la multitud; y como no podía entender nada de cierto a causa del alboroto, le mandó llevar a la fortaleza.
35 When he came to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd;
Y cuando llegó a las gradas, aconteció que fue llevado acuestas por los soldados a causa de la violencia del pueblo.
36 for the multitude of the people followed after, crying out, “Away with him!”
Porque la multitud de pueblo venía detrás gritando: Afuera con él.
37 As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he asked the commanding officer, “May I speak to you?” He said, “Do you know Greek?
Y como iban a meter a Pablo en la fortaleza, dijo al tribuno: ¿Me será lícito hablar contigo? Y él dijo: ¿Sabes tú Griego?
38 Aren’t you then the Egyptian who before these days stirred up to sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?”
¿No eres tú aquel Egipcio que levantaste una sedición antes de estos días, y sacaste al desierto cuatro mil hombres salteadores?
39 But Paul said, “I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city. I beg you, allow me to speak to the people.”
Entonces Pablo le dijo: Yo de cierto soy hombre Judío, ciudadano de Tarso, ciudad no oscura de Cilicia: empero ruégote que me permitas que hable al pueblo.
40 When he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the stairs, beckoned with his hand to the people. When there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, saying,
Y como él se lo permitió, Pablo estando en pie en las gradas, hizo señal con la mano al pueblo; y hecho grande silencio, les habló en lengua Hebrea, diciendo:
