Acts 2
1 Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
૧પચાસમાનો દિવસ આવ્યો, તે સમયે તેઓ સર્વ એક સ્થળે એકત્ર થયા હતા.
2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
૨ત્યારે સ્વર્ગમાંથી એકાએક ભારે આંધીના ઘુઘવાટ જેવો અવાજ આવ્યો, અને તેઓ જ્યાં બેઠા હતા તે આખું ઘર ગાજી ઊઠયું.
3 Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.
૩અગ્નિના જેવી છૂટી પડતી જીભો તેઓને દેખાઈ, અને તેઓમાંના દરેક ઉપર બેઠી.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
૪તેઓ સર્વ પવિત્ર આત્માથી ભરપૂર થયા, અને આત્માએ જેમ તેઓને બોલવાની શક્તિ આપી તેમ તેઓ અન્ય ભાષાઓમાં બોલવા લાગ્યા.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
૫હવે આકાશની નીચેના દરેક દેશમાંથી ધાર્મિક યહૂદીઓ યરુશાલેમમાં રહેતા હતા.
6 When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
૬તે અવાજ સંભળાયો ત્યારે ઘણાં લોકો ભેગા થયા, અને ચકિત થઈ ગયા, કેમ કે તેઓમાંના દરેકે પોતપોતાની ભાષામાં તેઓને બોલતા સાંભળ્યાં.
7 They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?
૭તેઓ સઘળા વિસ્મિત થયા અને નવાઈ પામીને એકબીજાને કહેવા લાગ્યા કે, જુઓ, શું આ તમામ બોલનારા ગાલીલના નથી?
8 How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
૮તો કેમ તેઓને આપણે આપણી માતૃભાષામાં બોલતાં સાંભળીએ છીએ?
9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
૯પાર્થીઓ, માદીઓ, એલામીઓ, મેસોપોટેમિયાના, યહૂદિયાના, કપાદોકિયાના, પોન્તસના, આસિયાના,
10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
૧૦ફ્રુગિયાના, પામ્ફૂલિયાના, મિસરના તથા કુરેની પાસેના લિબિયાના પ્રાંતોમાંના રહેવાસીઓ તથા રોમન પ્રવાસીઓ, યહૂદીઓ તથા નવા થયેલા યહૂદીઓ,
11 Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”
૧૧ક્રીતીઓ તથા આરબો, તેઓને આપણી પોતાની ભાષાઓમાં ઈશ્વરનાં પરાક્રમી કામો વિષે બોલતાં સાંભળીએ છીએ.
12 They were all amazed and were perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
૧૨તેઓ સર્વ વિસ્મિત થયા અને ગૂંચવણમાં પડીને એકબીજાને કહેવા લાગ્યા કે, “આ શું હશે?”
13 Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”
૧૩પણ બીજાઓએ ઠઠ્ઠામશ્કરી કરતાં કહ્યું કે, “એ માણસોએ નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ પીધો છે.”
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, “You men of Judea and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
૧૪ત્યારે પિતરે અગિયારની સાથે ઊભા થઈ ઊંચે સ્વરે તેઓને કહ્યું કે, “યહૂદિયાના માણસો તથા યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓ, તમે સર્વ જાણી લો અને મારી વાતોને કાન દો.”
15 For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.
૧૫આ માણસો પીધેલા છે એમ તમે ધારો છો, પણ એમ નથી; કેમ કે હજી તો સવારના નવ થયા છે.
16 But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
૧૬પણ એ તો યોએલ પ્રબોધકે જે કહ્યું હતું તે જ છે; એટલે કે,
17 ‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
૧૭ઈશ્વર કહે છે કે, “છેલ્લાં દિવસોમાં એમ થશે કે, હું મારો પવિત્ર આત્મા સર્વ માણસો પર રેડી દઈશ; અને તમારા દીકરા તથા તમારી દીકરીઓ પ્રબોધ કરશે, તમારા જુવાનોને સંદર્શનો થશે, અને તમારા વૃદ્ધોને સ્વપ્નો આવશે;
18 Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.
૧૮વળી તે સમયોમાં હું મારા સેવકો પર તથા મારી સેવિકાઓ પર મારો આત્મા રેડી દઈશ; અને તેઓ પ્રબોધ કરશે;
19 I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.
૧૯વળી હું ઉપર આકાશમાં આશ્ચર્યકર્મો તથા નીચે પૃથ્વી પર ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો બતાવીશ; લોહી, અગ્નિ તથા ધુમાડાના ગોટેગોટા;
20 The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
૨૦પ્રભુનો તે મહાન તથા પ્રસિદ્ધ દિવસ આવ્યા અગાઉ સૂર્ય અંધકારરૂપ અને ચંદ્ર લોહીરૂપ થઈ જશે;
21 It will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
૨૧તે સમયે એમ થશે કે જે કોઈ પ્રભુને નામે પ્રાર્થના કરશે તે ઉદ્ધાર પામશે.”
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know,
૨૨ઓ ઇઝરાયલી માણસો, તમે આ વાતો સાંભળો. ઈસુ નાઝારી, જેમની મારફતે પ્રભુએ તમારામાં જે પરાક્રમી કામો, આશ્ચર્યકર્મો તથા ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો કરાવ્યાં, જે વિષે તમે પોતે પણ જાણો છો, તેઓ વડે તે ઈશ્વરને પસંદ પડેલા માણસ તરીકે તમારી આગળ સાબિત થયા તે છતાં,
23 him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;
૨૩ઈશ્વરના સંકલ્પ તથા પૂર્વજ્ઞાન પ્રમાણે તેમને પરસ્વાધીન કરાયા, તેમને પકડીને દુષ્ટોની હસ્તક વધસ્તંભે જડાવીને મારી નખાયા.
24 whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
૨૪ઈશ્વરે તેમને મરણની વેદનાથી અલિપ્ત રાખી ઉઠાડ્યાં; કેમ કે તેઓ મૃત્યુના બંધનમાં રહે તે અસંભવ હતું.
25 For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
૨૫કેમ કે દાઉદ તેમના વિષે કહે છે કે, મેં પોતાની સંમુખ પ્રભુને નિત્ય જોયા; તે મારે જમણે હાથે છે, તેથી મને ખસેડવામાં આવે નહિ.
26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope,
૨૬એથી મારું હૃદય મગ્ન થયું, અને મારી જીભે હર્ષ કર્યો; વળી મારો મનુષ્યદેહ પણ આશામાં રહેશે;
27 because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Hadēs g86)
૨૭કેમ કે તમે મારા આત્માને હાદેસમાં રહેવા દેશો નહિ, વળી તમે તમારા પવિત્રને કોહવાણ પણ જોવા દેશો નહિ. (Hadēs g86)
28 You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
૨૮તમે મને જીવનના માર્ગ જણાવ્યાં છે; તમારા મુખના દર્શનથી તમે મને આનંદથી ભરપૂર કરશો.
29 “Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
૨૯ભાઈઓ, આપણા પૂર્વજ દાઉદ વિષે હું તમને ખુલ્લી રીતે કહી શકું છું કે, તે મરણ પામ્યો છે, અને દફનાવાયો પણ છે, અને તેની કબર આજ સુધી અહીં આપણે ત્યાં છે.
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
૩૦તે પ્રબોધક હતો, અને જાણતો હતો કે ઈશ્વરે સમ ખાઈને તેને કહ્યું છે કે, તારા સંતાનમાંના એકને હું તારા રાજ્યાસન પર બેસાડીશ;
31 he foreseeing this, spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn’t left in Hades, and his flesh didn’t see decay. (Hadēs g86)
૩૧એવું અગાઉથી જાણીને તેણે ખ્રિસ્તનાં પુનરુત્થાન વિષે કહ્યું કે, તેમને હાદેસમાં રહેવા દેવામાં આવ્યા નહિ, અને તેમના દેહને સડી જવા દીધો નહીં. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.
૩૨એ ઈસુને ઈશ્વરે સજીવન કર્યા છે, અને તે વિષે અમે સર્વ સાક્ષી છીએ.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you now see and hear.
૩૩માટે ઈશ્વરને જમણે હાથે તેમને ઉપર લઈ લેવામાં આવ્યા, અને આશાવચન અનુસાર ઈશ્વરપિતા પાસેથી પવિત્ર આત્મા પામીને, આ જે તમે જુઓ છો તથા સાંભળો છો, તેમ તેમણે આપણને પવિત્ર આત્મા આપ્યાં છે.
34 For David didn’t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by my right hand
૩૪કેમ કે દાઉદ તો સ્વર્ગમાં ચઢ્યો નહોતો; પણ તે પોતે કહે છે,
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’
૩૫પ્રભુએ મારા પ્રભુને કહ્યું કે, તારા શત્રુઓને હું તારું પાયાસન કરું ત્યાં લગી તું મારે જમણે હાથે બેસ.
36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
૩૬એ માટે ઇઝરાયલના તમામ લોકોએ નિશ્ચે જાણવું કે, જે ઈસુને તમે વધસ્તંભ પર મારી નાખ્યા, તેમને ઈશ્વરે પ્રભુ તથા ખ્રિસ્ત બનાવ્યા છે.
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
૩૭હવે આ સાંભળીને તેઓનાં મન વીંધાઈ ગયા, અને તેઓએ પિતરને તથા બીજા પ્રેરિતોને કહ્યું કે, ભાઈઓ, અમે શું કરીએ?
38 Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
૩૮ત્યારે પિતરે તેઓને કહ્યું કે, પસ્તાવો કરો, અને તમારાં પાપોની માફીને માટે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને નામે તમારામાંના પ્રત્યેક બાપ્તિસ્મા પામો, અને તમને પવિત્ર આત્માનું દાન પ્રાપ્ત થશે.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”
૩૯કેમ કે તે આશાવચન તમારે સારુ તથા તમારાં છોકરાંને તથા જેઓ દૂર છે તેઓને સારુ છે, એટલે આપણા ઈશ્વર પ્રભુ જેટલાંને પોતાની પાસે બોલાવશે તે સર્વને સારુ છે.
40 With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
૪૦પિતરે બીજી ઘણી વાતો કહીને સાક્ષી આપી તથા બોધ કર્યો કે, તમે આ જમાનાનાં દુષ્ટ લોકથી બચી જાઓ.
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
૪૧ત્યારે જેઓએ તેની વાત સ્વીકારી તેઓ બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા. અને તે જ દિવસે ત્રણેક હજાર માણસો ઉમેરાયાં.
42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
૪૨તેઓ પ્રેરિતોના બોધમાં, સંગતમાં, રોટલી ભાંગવામાં પ્રભુ ભોજન લેવામાં તથા પ્રાર્થનામાં દૃઢતાથી લાગુ રહ્યાં.
43 Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
૪૩દરેકે આદરયુક્ત ભીતિ અનુભવી; અને પ્રેરિતોથી ઘણાં આશ્ચર્યકર્મો તથા ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો થયા.
44 All who believed were together, and had all things in common.
૪૪તમામ વિશ્વાસીઓ એકઠા રહેતા હતા અને તેઓની બધી મિલકત સહિયારી હતી.
45 They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
૪૫તેઓ પોતાની મિલકત તથા સરસામાન વેચી નાખતા, અને દરેકની અગત્ય પ્રમાણે સર્વને વહેંચી આપતા.
46 Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
૪૬તેઓ નિત્ય ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં એક ચિત્તે હાજર રહેતા તથા ઘરેઘરે રોટલી ભાંગીને ઉમંગથી તથા નિખાલસ મનથી ભોજન કરતા હતા.
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.
૪૭તેઓ ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ કરતા હતા, અને સર્વ લોકો તેમના પર પ્રસન્ન હતા. અને પ્રભુ રોજરોજ ઉદ્ધાર પામનારાઓને તેઓની સંગતમાં ઉમેરતા હતા.
