Acts 15
1 Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you can’t be saved.”
E alguns que tinham descido da Judeia ensinavam aos irmãos, [dizendo]: Se vós não vos circuncidardes conforme o costume de Moisés, não podeis ser salvos.
2 Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord and discussion with them, they appointed Paul, Barnabas, and some others of them to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.
Então, havendo não pequena resistência e confronto de Paulo e Barnabé contra eles, ordenaram que Paulo, Barnabé e alguns outros deles subissem aos apóstolos e aos anciãos a Jerusalém sobre esta questão.
3 They, being sent on their way by the assembly, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles. They caused great joy to all the brothers.
Então sendo eles preparados para a viagem e despedidos pela igreja, passaram pela Fenícia e Samaria, contando [sobre] a conversão dos gentios; e davam grande alegria a todos os irmãos.
4 When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly and the apostles and the elders, and they reported everything that God had done with them.
E tendo chegado a Jerusalém, eles foram recebidos pela igreja, e pelos apóstolos e anciãos; e lhes anunciaram quão grandes coisas Deus tinha feito com eles;
5 But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”
Mas [que] alguns do grupo dos fariseus que tinham crido, levantaram-se, dizendo que era necessário circuncidá-los, e mandar [-lhes] que guardem a Lei de Moisés.
6 The apostles and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter.
E os apóstolos e anciãos se reuniram para dar atenção a este assunto.
7 When there had been much discussion, Peter rose up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that a good while ago God made a choice among you that by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News and believe.
E havendo muita discussão, Pedro se levantou, e lhes disse: Homens irmãos, vós sabeis que há muito tempo Deus [meu] escolheu entre nós, para que por minha boca os gentios ouvissem a palavra do Evangelho, e cressem.
8 God, who knows the heart, testified about them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just like he did to us.
E Deus, que conhece os corações, deu-lhes testemunho, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, assim como também a nós.
9 He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.
E nenhuma diferença fez entre nós e eles, purificando seus corações pela fé.
10 Now therefore why do you tempt God, that you should put a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Então agora, por que tentais a Deus, pondo um jugo sobre o pescoço dos discípulos; que nem nossos pais, nem nós podemos levar?
11 But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are.”
Mas cremos que, pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, nós somos salvos, assim como também eles.
12 All the multitude kept silence, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul reporting what signs and wonders God had done among the nations through them.
E toda a multidão se calou; e ouviram a Barnabé e a Paulo, que contavam quão grandes sinais e milagres Deus tinha feito por meio deles entre os gentios.
13 After they were silent, James answered, “Brothers, listen to me.
E tendo estes se calado, Tiago respondeu, dizendo: Homens irmãos, ouvi-me:
14 Simeon has reported how God first visited the nations to take out of them a people for his name.
Simão informou como primeiro Deus visitou aos gentios, para tomar [deles] um povo para seu nome.
15 This agrees with the words of the prophets. As it is written,
E com isso concordam as palavras dos profetas, como está escrito:
16 ‘After these things I will return. I will again build the tabernacle of David, which has fallen. I will again build its ruins. I will set it up
Depois disto eu voltarei, e reconstruirei o tabernáculo de Davi, que caído está; e reconstruirei [de] suas ruínas, e voltarei a levantá-lo;
17 that the rest of men may seek after the Lord: all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who does all these things.’
Para que o resto da humanidade busque ao Senhor, e todos os gentios sobre os quais meu nome é invocado, diz o Senhor, que faz todas estas coisas,
conhecidas desde a antiguidade. (aiōn g165)
19 Therefore my judgment is that we don’t trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to God,
Portanto eu julgo que aqueles que dos gentios se convertem a Deus não devem ser perturbados.
20 but that we write to them that they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.
Mas [que] lhes escrevamos para que se abstenham das contaminações dos ídolos, e do pecado sexual, e da [carne] sufocada, e do sangue.
21 For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
Porque Moisés, desde as gerações antigas, tem em cada cidade quem o pregue nas sinagogas, sendo lido todo sábado.
22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers.
Então pareceu bem aos apóstolos, e aos anciãos, com toda a igreja, eleger deles [alguns] homens, para serem enviados com Paulo e Barnabé a Antioquia: Judas, que tinha por sobrenome Barsabás; e a Silas, homens líderes entre os irmãos.
23 They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.
E escreveram por meio deles o seguinte: Os apóstolos e os anciãos, e os irmãos – para os irmãos dentre os gentios, que [estão] em Antioquia, Síria e Cilícia; saudações.
24 Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law,’ to whom we gave no commandment;
Dado que ouvimos que alguns dos que saíram de nós vos perturbaram com palavras, [e] causaram incômodo a vossas almas, aos quais não mandamos;
25 it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
Pareceu-nos bem, reunidos em concordância, escolher [alguns] homens, e enviá-los até vós, com nossos amados Barnabé e Paulo.
26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Homens que têm arriscado suas vidas pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.
Então enviamos a Judas e a Silas, os quais [vos] dirão as mesmas coisas pessoalmente.
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things:
Porque pareceu bem ao Espírito Santo e a nós, de nenhuma carga a mais vos impor, a não ser estas coisas necessárias:
29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”
Que vos abstenhais das coisas sacrificadas aos ídolos, do sangue, da [carne] sufocada, e do pecado sexual; das quais, se vos guardardes, fareis bem. Que o bem vos suceda.
30 So, when they were sent off, they came to Antioch. Having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.
Sendo, pois, eles despedidos, vieram a Antioquia, e reunindo a multidão, entregaram a carta.
31 When they had read it, they rejoiced over the encouragement.
E ao lerem, alegraram-se pela consolação.
32 Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers with many words and strengthened them.
E então Judas e Silas, sendo também profetas, com muitas palavras exortaram e firmaram aos irmãos.
33 After they had spent some time there, they were dismissed in peace from the brothers to the apostles.
E ficando [ali] por algum tempo, permitiram que voltassem em paz dos irmãos para os apóstolos.
35 But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
E Paulo e Barnabé ficaram em Antioquia, ensinando e evangelizando, com também muitos outros, a palavra do Senhor.
36 After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.”
E depois de alguns dias, Paulo disse a Barnabé: Voltemos a visitar a nossos irmãos em cada cidade onde tenhamos anunciado a palavra do Senhor, [para ver] como estão.
37 Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.
E Barnabé aconselhou para que tomassem consigo a João, chamado Marcos.
38 But Paul didn’t think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and didn’t go with them to do the work.
Mas Paulo achou adequado que não tomassem consigo a aquele que desde a Panfília tinha se separado deles, e não tinha ido com eles para [aquela] obra.
39 Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus,
Houve então [entre eles] tal discórdia, que eles se separaram um do outro; e Barnabé, tomando consigo a Marcos, navegou para o Chipre.
40 but Paul chose Silas and went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of God.
Mas Paulo, escolhendo a Silas, partiu-se, enviado pelos irmãos para a graça de Deus.
41 He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the assemblies.
E ele passou pela Síria e Cilícia, firmando as igrejas.
