Acts 11
1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
૧હવે જે પ્રેરિતો તથા ભાઈઓ યહૂદિયામાં હતા તેઓએ સાંભળ્યું કે, વિદેશીઓએ પણ ઈશ્વરનાં વચનનો અંગીકાર કર્યો છે.
2 When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
૨જ્યારે પિતર યરુશાલેમ પાછો આવ્યો, ત્યારે સુન્નતીઓએ તેની ટીકા કરતા કહ્યું કે,
3 saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”
૩‘તેં બેસુન્નતીઓના ઘરમાં જઈને તેઓની સાથે ભોજન કર્યું.’
4 But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,
૪ત્યારે પિતરે તેઓને તે વાતનો વિગતવાર ખુલાસો કરતા કહ્યું કે,
5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
૫‘હું જોપ્પા શહેરમાં પ્રાર્થના કરતો હતો, તે વખતે મને મૂર્છા આવી; અને મેં દર્શનમાં જાણે કે એક મોટી ચાદર તેના ચાર ખૂણાથી લટકાવેલુ હોય તેવું એક વાસણ સ્વર્ગમાંથી ઊતરતું જોયું; તે મારી પાસે આવ્યું.’
6 When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.
૬તેના પર એકીટસે જોઈને મેં ધ્યાન આપ્યું, તો મેં તેમાં પૃથ્વી પરનાં ચોપગા પ્રાણીઓ, રાની પશુઓ, પેટે ચાલનારાં પ્રાણીઓ તથા આકાશનાં પક્ષીઓ જોયાં.
7 I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’
૭વળી મેં એક વાણીને મને એમ કહેતી સાંભળી કે, પિતર, ઊઠ, મારીને ખા.
8 But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
૮પણ મેં કહ્યું, પ્રભુ, એમ નહિ; કેમ કે કોઈ પણ નાપાક અથવા અશુદ્ધ ખોરાકનો આહાર મેં કર્યો નથી.
9 But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’
૯પણ તેના ઉત્તરમાં સ્વર્ગમાંથી બીજી વાર વાણી થઈ કે, ઈશ્વરે જેને શુદ્ધ કર્યું છે, તેને તું અશુદ્ધ ન ગણ.
10 This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
૧૦એમ ત્રણ વાર થયું; પછી તે બધાને સ્વર્ગમાં પાછા ખેંચી લેવામાં આવ્યાં.
11 Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
૧૧અને જુઓ, તે જ સમયે કાઈસારિયાથી મારી પાસે મોકલેલા ત્રણ માણસો, જે ઘરમાં અમે હતા તેની આગળ આવી ઊભા રહ્યા.
12 The Spirit told me to go with them without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.
૧૨આત્માએ મને કહ્યું કે, કંઈ પણ ભેદ રાખ્યા વિના તેઓની સાથે જા. આ છ ભાઈઓ પણ મારી સાથે આવ્યા; અને અમે તે વ્યક્તિના ઘરમાં ગયા;
13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
૧૩ત્યારે તેણે અમને ખબર આપી કે, મેં મારા ઘરમાં એક સ્વર્ગદૂતને ઊભેલો જોયો, તેણે મને કહ્યું કે, જોપ્પામાં માણસ મોકલી સિમોન જેમનું બીજું નામ પિતર છે, તેને બોલાવ;
14 who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
૧૪તે તને એવી વાતો કહેશે કે તેથી તું તથા તારાં ઘરનાં સર્વ વ્યક્તિઓ ઉદ્ધાર પામશો.
15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
૧૫હું જેમ પ્રવચન કરવા લાગ્યો કે તરત જેમ પ્રથમ આપણા પર પવિત્ર આત્માએ આચ્છાદન કર્યું હતું, તેમ તેઓ પર પણ પવિત્ર આત્મા ઊતર્યો.
16 I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’
૧૬ત્યારે પ્રભુની એ કહેલી વાત મને યાદ આવી કે, યોહાને પાણીથી બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું ખરું, પણ તમે પવિત્ર આત્માથી બાપ્તિસ્મા પામશો.
17 If then God gave to them the same gift as us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”
૧૭માટે જ્યારે આપણે પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત પર વિશ્વાસ કર્યો ત્યારે આપણને જેવું દાન મળ્યું તેવું જ દાન ઈશ્વરે તેઓને પણ આપ્યું, તો હું કોણ કે, ઈશ્વરને અટકાવું?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”
૧૮આ વાતો સાંભળીને તેઓ ચૂપ રહ્યા, અને ઈશ્વરને મહિમા આપતા કહ્યું કે, ઈશ્વરે બિનયહૂદીઓને પણ પશ્ચાતાપ કરવાનું મન આપ્યું છે કે તેઓ જીવન પામે.
19 They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
૧૯સ્તેફનના સંબંધમાં થયેલી સતાવણીથી જેઓ વિખેરાઈ ગયા હતા તેઓ ફિનીકિયા, સાયપ્રસ તથા અંત્યોખ સુધી ગયા, પણ તેઓએ યહૂદીઓ સિવાય કોઈને પ્રભુની વાત પ્રગટ કરી ન હતી.
20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
૨૦પણ તેઓમાંના કેટલાક સાયપ્રસના તથા કુરેનીના માણસો હતા, તેઓએ અંત્યોખ આવીને ગ્રીક લોકોને પણ પ્રભુ ઈસુ વિષેની સુવાર્તા કહી સંભળાવી.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
૨૧પ્રભુનો હાથ તેઓની સાથે હતો, અને ઘણાં લોકો વિશ્વાસ કરીને પ્રભુ તરફ વળ્યા.
22 The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,
૨૨તેઓ વિષેના સમાચાર યરુશાલેમના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયના કાને આવ્યા, ત્યારે તેઓએ બાર્નાબાસને અંત્યોખ સુધી મોકલ્યો;
23 who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
૨૩તે ત્યાં આવ્યો, ત્યારે ઈશ્વરની કૃપા જોઈને તે આનંદ પામ્યો; અને તેણે તેઓ સર્વને દ્દ્રઢ હૃદયથી પ્રભુને વળગી રહેવાનો બોધ કર્યો;
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
૨૪કેમ કે તે સારો માણસ હતો, અને પવિત્ર આત્માથી તથા વિશ્વાસથી ભરપૂર હતો; અને ઘણાં લોક પ્રભુના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયમાં જોડાયાં.
25 Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
૨૫પછી બાર્નાબાસ શાઉલની શોધ કરવા સારુ તાર્સસ ગયો;
26 When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
૨૬અને તે મળ્યો ત્યારે બાર્નાબાસ તેને અંત્યોખમાં લાવ્યો. તેઓએ એક આખું વર્ષ વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયની સાથે રહીને ઘણાં લોકોને બોધ કર્યો; શિષ્યો પ્રથમ અંત્યોખમાં ખ્રિસ્તી કહેવાયા.
27 Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
૨૭હવે એ દિવસોમાં કેટલાક પ્રબોધકો યરુશાલેમથી અંત્યોખ આવ્યા.
28 One of them named Agabus stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.
૨૮તેઓમાંના આગાબસ નામે એક જણે ઊભા થઈને આત્માની પ્રેરણાથી સૂચવ્યું કે, આખી દુનિયામાં મોટો દુકાળ સર્જાશે; અને કલોડિયસના રાજ્યકાળમાં તેમ જ થયું.
29 As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;
૨૯ત્યારે શિષ્યોએ ઠરાવ કર્યો કે, આપણામાંના દરેક માણસે પોતપોતાની શક્તિ પ્રમાણે યહૂદિયામાં રહેનાર ભાઈઓને કંઈ મદદ મોકલવી.
30 which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
૩૦તેઓએ તેમ કર્યું, અને બાર્નાબાસ તથા શાઉલની મારફતે વડીલો પર નાણાં મોકલ્યાં.
