2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him, we ask you
Wir bitten euch aber, Brüder, in Betreff der Ankunft unseres Herrn Jesus Christus und unserer Sammlung zu ihm:
2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come.
daß ihr euch nicht so leicht den Kopf verrücken oder verwirren lasset, weder durch einen Geist noch durch ein Wort noch durch einen Brief unter unserem Namen, als sei der Tag des Herrn da.
3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction.
Niemand soll euch auf irgend eine Weise betrügen: denn es muß durchaus der Abfall zuerst kommen und der Mensch der Sünde geoffenbart werden, der Sohn des Verderbens,
4 He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.
der Widersacher, der sich erhebt über alles was Gott heißt und Heiligtum, so daß er sich in den Tempel Gottes setzt, sich selbst als Gott ausstellend.
5 Don’t you remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?
Denket ihr nicht mehr daran, daß ich euch das gesagt habe, wie ich noch bei euch war?
6 Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.
Und nun wisset ihr doch, was den Moment seiner Offenbarung zurückhält.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.
Denn das Geheimnis des Frevels ist schon im Werke; nur muß der zuvor aus dem Wege geschafft werden, welcher es bis jetzt noch zurückhält;
8 Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;
dann wird der Frevler offenbar werden, den der Herr Jesus hinwegraffen wird mit dem Hauche seines Mundes, den er vernichten wird mit den Strahlen seiner Erscheinung;
9 even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
dessen ganzes Auftreten nichts ist, als wie es der Satan vermag, lauter Macht, Zeichen und Wunder der Lüge,
10 and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
lauter Trug der Ungerechtigkeit für die Verlorenen, darum daß sie die Liebe der Wahrheit nicht angenommen haben zu ihrer Rettung.
11 Because of this, God sends them a powerful delusion, that they should believe a lie,
und darum schickt ihnen Gott die Kraft des Truges, daß sie der Lüge glauben;
12 that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
damit sie alle gerichtet werden, die nicht geglaubt haben der Wahrheit, sondern ihr Wohlgefallen gehabt haben an der Ungerechtigkeit.
13 But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth,
Wir aber sind Gott allezeit zu Dank verpflichtet euretwegen, vor dem Herrn geliebte Brüder, weil euch Gott von Anfang an erwählt hat zum Heil durch Heiligung des Geistes und Glauben an die Wahrheit,
14 to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
wozu er euch berufen hat durch unser Evangelium, zum Erwerb der Herrlichkeit unseres Herrn Jesus Christus.
15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word or by letter.
So stehet nun fest, Brüder, und haltet an der Ueberlieferung unserer Lehren, die ihr empfangen habt, sei es mündlich oder brieflich, von uns.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, (aiōnios g166)
Er aber unser Herr Jesus Christus und Gott unser Vater, der uns geliebt hat, und uns verliehen hat ewigen Trost und gute Hoffnung in Gnade, (aiōnios g166)
17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.
ermuntere eure Herzen und befestige sie in allem guten Werk und Wort.
