2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

Pablo, apóstol de Jesu Cristo por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo, a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, con todos los santos que están por toda la Acaya.

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gracia a vosotros, y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesu Cristo.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesu Cristo, el Padre de misericordias, y el Dios de toda consolación.

4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

El que nos consuela en todas nuestras tribulaciones; para que podamos nosotros consolar a los que están en cualquiera angustia, con la consolación con que nosotros mismos somos consolados de Dios.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

Porque de la manera que abundan en nosotros las aflicciones de Cristo, así abunda también por Cristo nuestra consolación.

6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

Y si somos atribulados, es por vuestra consolación y salvación, la cual es eficiente en el sufrir las mismas aflicciones que nosotros también padecemos; o si somos consolados, es por vuestra consolación y salvación.

7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort.

Y nuestra esperanza de vosotros es firme, estando ciertos que como sois participantes de las aflicciones, así también lo seréis de la consolación.

8 For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

Porque, hermanos, no queremos que ignoréis acerca de nuestra tribulación que nos fue hecha en Asia, que sobre manera fuimos cargados sobre nuestras fuerzas, de tal manera que aun dudábamos de la vida.

9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

Mas nosotros tuvimos en nosotros mismos sentencia de muerte, para que no confiásemos en nosotros mismos, sino en Dios, que levanta los muertos:

10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,

El cual nos libró de tamaña muerte, y nos libra: en el cual esperamos que aun nos librará;

11 you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

Ayudándonos también vosotros con oración por nosotros, para que por el don alcanzado para nosotros por medio de muchas personas, por muchas también sean dadas gracias por nosotros.

12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

Porque nuestra gloria es esta, es a saber, el testimonio de nuestra conciencia, que en simplicidad y sinceridad de Dios, no en sabiduría carnal, mas en la gracia de Dios, hemos conversado en el mundo, y más con vosotros.

13 For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end—

Porque no os escribimos otras cosas de las que leéis, o también reconocéis; y espero que aun hasta el fin las reconoceréis:

14 as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

Como también en parte nos habéis reconocido que somos vuestra gloria, como también vosotros sois la nuestra, en el día del Señor Jesús.

15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit,

Y en esta confianza quise primero venir a vosotros, porque tuvieseis otro segundo beneficio:

16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

Y pasar por vosotros a Macedonia; y de Macedonia venir otra vez a vosotros, y ser llevado por vosotros a Judea.

17 When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

Así que pretendiendo esto, ¿usé quizá de liviandad? ¿o lo que pienso hacer, piénsolo según la carne, para que haya en mí sí, sí, y no, no?

18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”

Antes como Dios es fiel, nuestra palabra para con vosotros no ha sido sí y no.

19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

Porque el Hijo de Dios, Jesu Cristo, que por nosotros ha sido entre vosotros predicado por mí, y Silvano, y Timoteo, no ha sido sí y no; mas en él ha sido sí.

20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.

Porque todas las promesas de Dios son en él sí, y en él Amén para gloria de Dios por nosotros.

21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,

Y el que nos confirma con vosotros en Cristo, y el que nos ungió, es Dios:

22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

El cual también nos selló, y nos dio las arras del Espíritu en nuestros corazones.

23 But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I didn’t come to Corinth.

Mas yo llamo a Dios por testigo sobre mi alma, de que por perdonaros, no he venido hasta ahora a Corinto:

24 We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

No que nos enseñoreamos de vuestra fe; antes somos ayudadores de vuestro gozo, porque por la fe estáis en pie.
