2 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
૧કરિંથમાંના ઈશ્વરના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયને તથા તેની સાથે સમગ્ર અખાયામાંના સર્વ સંતોને, પાઉલ જે ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છાથી ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનો પ્રેરિત છે, તે તથા ભાઈ તિમોથી લખે છે
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
૨ઈશ્વર આપણા પિતા તથા ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત તમને કૃપા તથા શાંતિ થાઓ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
૩આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં ઈશ્વર તથા પિતા, જે દયાના તથા સર્વ દિલાસાના ઈશ્વર છે તેમની સ્તુતિ થાઓ.
4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
૪તેઓ અમારી સર્વ વિપત્તિમાં અમને દિલાસો આપે છે, કે જેથી અમે પોતે ઈશ્વરથી જે દિલાસો પામીએ છીએ, તેને લીધે જેઓ ગમે તેવી વિપત્તિમાં હોય તેઓને અમે દિલાસો આપવાને શક્તિમાન થઈએ.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.
૫કેમ કે જેમ ખ્રિસ્તને કારણે ઘણાં દુઃખ અમારા પર આવે છે, તેમ ખ્રિસ્ત દ્વારા અમને પણ ઘણો દિલાસો મળે છે.
6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.
૬પણ જો અમે વિપત્તિ સહીએ તો તે તમારા દિલાસા તથા ઉદ્ધારને માટે છે; અને જો દિલાસો પામીએ છીએ, તો તે તમારા દિલાસાને માટે છે અને તેથી અમે જે રીતે દુઃખો સહીએ છીએ તેવી સહન કરવાની શક્તિ તમારામાં આવે.
7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort.
૭તમારે વિશે અમારી આશા દૃઢ છે કારણ કે અમને ખબર છે કે જેમ તમે દુઃખોમાં ભાગીદાર, તેમ દિલાસામાં પણ ભાગીદાર થયા છો.
8 For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.
૮કેમ કે ભાઈઓ, અમારી એવી ઇચ્છા નથી કે આસિયામાં જે વિપત્તિ અમને પડી તે વિષે તમે અજાણ્યા રહો, એ વિપત્તિ અમારી સહનશક્તિ બહાર અમને બહુ ભારે લાગી, એટલી હદે કે અમે જીવવાની આશા પણ મૂકી દીધી હતી.
9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,
૯વળી અમને લાગ્યું હતું કે અમારું મરણ થશે, જેથી અમે પોતાના પર નહિ, પણ મૃત્યુ પામેલાંને સજીવન કરનાર ઈશ્વર પર વિશ્વાસ રાખીએ.
10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,
૧૦તેમણે આવાં મરણકારક જોખમથી અમારો બચાવ કર્યો અને કરશે; તેમના પર અમે આશા રાખીએ છે કે તેઓ ફરીથી પણ અમને બચાવશે.
11 you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.
૧૧તમે પ્રાર્થનાથી અમને સહાય કરજો, કે જે કૃપાદાન ઘણાંઓની મારફતે અમને અપાયું, તેને લીધે ઘણાં અમારે માટે આભારસ્તુતિ પણ કરે.
12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
૧૨કેમ કે એ બાબતે અમને અભિમાન છે અને અમારી પ્રેરકબુદ્ધિ એવી સાક્ષી આપે છે કે ભૌતિક જ્ઞાનથી નહિ પણ ઈશ્વરની કૃપાથી અમે દુનિયામાં અને વિશેષ કરીને તમારા સંબંધમાં ઈશ્વરની દ્રષ્ટિએ પવિત્રતાથી તથા શુદ્ધ મનથી વર્ત્યા.
13 For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end—
૧૩પણ તમે જે વાંચો છો અને માનો છો, તેનાથી વિપરીત અમે તમને બીજી વાતો લખતા નથી; અને આશા રાખું છું, કે તેમ અંત સુધી માનશો.
14 as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
૧૪જે રીતે તમે અમને સ્વીકાર્યાં, કે પ્રભુ ઈસુના પુનરાગમના જેમ તમે અમારા માટે, તેમ અમે તમારા માટે અભિમાનનું કારણ છીએ, તેવી આશા હું રાખું છું.
15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit,
૧૫અને પહેલાં, એવી આશાથી હું તમારી પાસે આવવાને ઇચ્છતો હતો કે તમને બમણી કૃપા મળે;
16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.
૧૬તમારી પાસે થઈને મકદોનિયા જવાને અને ફરી મકદોનિયાથી તમારી પાસે આવવાને, અને તમારાથી યહૂદિયા તરફ વિદાય થવાને હું ઇચ્છતો હતો.
17 When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”
૧૭તો શું એવું ઇચ્છવામાં શું હું ઢચુપચુ કરતો હતો? અથવા જે ઇરાદો હું રાખું છું તે શું માનવીય ધોરણો પ્રમાણે રાખું છું, એવું કે મારું બોલવું હા ની ‘હા’ અને ના ની ‘ના’ હોય?
18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”
૧૮પણ જેમ ઈશ્વર વિશ્વાસુ છે તેમ તમારા પ્રત્યે મારી વાતમાં હા કે ના નહોતું.
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”
૧૯કેમ કે ઈશ્વરના દીકરા ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત જે અમારાથી, એટલે મારાથી તથા સિલ્વાનસ અને તિમોથી ધ્વારા, તમારામાં પ્રગટ કરાયા, તે હા તથા ના ન થયા, પણ તે હા થયા.
20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.
૨૦કેમ કે ઈશ્વરનાં જેટલાં આશાવચનો છે તે બધામાં હા તથા તેમાં આમીન છે, એ માટે કે અમારાથી ઈશ્વરનો મહિમા થાય.
21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,
૨૧અને અમને તમારી સાથે ખ્રિસ્તમાં જે દૃઢ કરે છે તથા જેમણે અમારો અભિષેક કર્યો, તે તો ઈશ્વર છે;
22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.
૨૨તેમણે અમને મુદ્રાંકિત કર્યા અને અમારા હૃદયમાં આત્માની ખાતરી આપી છે.
23 But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I didn’t come to Corinth.
૨૩હું ઈશ્વરને સાક્ષી રાખીને કહું છું કે તમારા પર દયા કરીને હું હજી સુધી કરિંથમાં આવ્યો નથી;
24 We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.
૨૪અમે તમારા વિશ્વાસ પર સત્તા ચલાવીએ છીએ એમ નહિ, પણ તમારા આનંદમાં સહાય કરનારા છીએ; કેમ કે તમે વિશ્વાસથી દૃઢ રહો છો.
