2 Chronicles 26
1 All the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
૧યહૂદિયાના બધા લોકોએ સોળ વર્ષની ઉંમરના ઉઝિયાને પસંદ કર્યો અને તેને તેના પિતા અમાસ્યા પછી રાજગાદી પર બેસાડ્યો.
2 He built Eloth and restored it to Judah. After that the king slept with his fathers.
૨અમાસ્યાના મૃત્યુ પછી ઉઝિયાએ યહૂદિયા માટે એલોથ પાછું મેળવ્યું. તેને ફરી બંધાવ્યું.
3 Uzziah was sixteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jechiliah, of Jerusalem.
૩ઉઝિયા રાજા થયો ત્યારે તે સોળ વર્ષનો હતો. તેણે યરુશાલેમમાં બાવન વર્ષ રાજ કર્યું. તેની માતાનું નામ યકોલ્યા હતું. તે યરુશાલેમની વતની હતી.
4 He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
૪તેના પિતા અમાસ્યાએ ઈશ્વરની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે સારું હતું તે કર્યું, તે જ પ્રમાણે ઉઝિયાએ પણ કર્યું.
5 He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the vision of God; and as long as he sought Yahweh, God made him prosper.
૫ઝખાર્યાએ ઉઝિયાને ઈશ્વર વિશેનું શિક્ષણ આપ્યું હતું અને તેની હયાતીમાં તે ઈશ્વરની આરાધના કરતો હતો. જેમ જેમ તે ઈશ્વરના માર્ગે ચાલતો ગયો તેમ તેમ ઈશ્વરે તેને સમૃદ્ધિ આપી.
6 He went out and fought against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
૬ઉઝિયાએ પલિસ્તીઓ ઉપર ચઢાઈ કરીને ગાથ, યાબ્ને અને આશ્દોદનો કોટ તોડી પાડ્યો. તેણે આશ્દોદમાં અને પલિસ્તીઓના દેશમાં નગરો બંધાવ્યાં.
7 God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and the Meunim.
૭ઈશ્વરે તેને પલિસ્તીઓ, ગૂર-બઆલમાં વસતા આરબો અને મેઉનીઓની વિરુદ્ધ સહાય કરી.
8 The Ammonites gave tribute to Uzziah. His name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt, for he grew exceedingly strong.
૮આમ્મોનીઓ ઉઝિયાને નજરાણું આપતા હતા અને તેની કીર્તિ મિસરની સરહદ સુધી ફેલાઈ ગઈ, કેમ કે તે ઘણો પરાક્રમી થયો હતો.
9 Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
૯આ ઉપરાંત, ઉઝિયાએ યરુશાલેમમાં ખૂણાના દરવાજે, ખીણને દરવાજે તથા દિવાલને ખૂણાઓમાં બુરજો બાંધીને તેઓને મજબૂત કર્યા.
10 He built towers in the wilderness, and dug out many cisterns, for he had much livestock, both in the lowlands and in the plains. He had farmers and vineyard keepers in the mountains and in the fruitful fields, for he loved farming.
૧૦તેણે અરણ્યમાં બુરજો બાંધ્યાં અને ઘણાં કૂવા ખોદાવ્યા, કારણ કે તેની પાસે નીચાણના પ્રદેશમાં તેમ જ મેદાનમાં ઘણાં જાનવર હતાં. તેણે દ્રાક્ષવાડીઓ ઉગાડનાર ફળદ્રુપ ભૂમિમાં તથા પર્વતોમાં કામ કરનાર ખેડૂતો રાખ્યા હતા, કેમ કે તેને ખેતીવાડીનો શોખ હતો.
11 Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men who went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.
૧૧આ ઉપરાંત, ઉઝિયા પાસે યુદ્ધ માટે સૈન્ય હતું. તેના સૈનિકો યેઈએલ ચિટનીસ તથા માસેયા અધિકારીએ નિયત કરેલી સંખ્યા પ્રમાણે, રાજાના સેનાપતિઓમાંના એકના, એટલે હનાન્યાના હાથ નીચે ટુકડીઓ પ્રમાણે લડવા નીકળી પડતા.
12 The whole number of the heads of fathers’ households, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand six hundred.
૧૨પૂર્વજોનાં કુટુંબોના સરદારોની, એટલે મુખ્ય લડવૈયા પુરુષોની કુલ સંખ્યા બે હજાર છસોની હતી.
13 Under their hand was an army, three hundred seven thousand five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
૧૩તેમના હાથ નીચે ત્રણ લાખ, સાત હજાર પાંચસો પુરુષોનું કેળવાયેલું સૈન્ય હતું, તેઓ રાજાના શત્રુઓની વિરુદ્ધ મહા પરાક્રમથી લડીને તેને મદદ કરતા હતા.
14 Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the army, shields, spears, helmets, coats of mail, bows, and stones for slinging.
૧૪ઉઝિયાએ આખા સૈન્યને માટે ઢાલો, ભાલાઓ, ટોપ, બખતરો, ધનુષ્યો તથા ગોફણોના ગોળા તૈયાર કરાવ્યા.
15 In Jerusalem, he made devices, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and on the battlements, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread far abroad, because he was marvelously helped until he was strong.
૧૫તેણે યરુશાલેમમાં બુરજો પર, મોરચાઓ પર ગોઠવવા માટે બાણો તથા મોટા પથ્થરો ફેંકવા માટે બાહોશ કારીગરો દ્વારા યાંત્રિક ઉપકરણો બનાવડાવ્યા. તેની કીર્તિ ઘણે દૂર સુધી ફેલાઈ ગઈ, કેમ કે તે બળવાન થયો ત્યાં સુધી અજાયબ રીતે તેને સહાય મળી હતી.
16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly and he trespassed against Yahweh his God, for he went into Yahweh’s temple to burn incense on the altar of incense.
૧૬પણ જયારે ઉઝિયા બળવાન થયો, ત્યારે તેનું હૃદય ભ્રષ્ટ થયું, તેથી તેનો નાશ થયો; તેણે પોતાના પ્રભુ, ઈશ્વરની વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કર્યું. તે ધૂપવેદી ઉપર ધૂપ ચઢાવવા માટે ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં ગયો.
17 Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of Yahweh, who were valiant men.
૧૭અઝાર્યા યાજક તથા તેની સાથે ઈશ્વરના એંશી મુખ્ય યાજકો તેની પાછળ અંદર ગયા.
18 They resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, “It isn’t for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to Yahweh, but for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed. It will not be for your honor from Yahweh God.”
૧૮તેઓએ ઉઝિયા રાજાને અટકાવતાં તેને કહ્યું, “હે ઉઝિયા, ઈશ્વરની આગળ ધૂપ ચઢાવવો એ તારું કામ નથી, પણ હારુનના જે દીકરાઓ ધૂપ ચઢાવવા માટે પવિત્ર થયેલા છે, તે યાજકોનું એ કામ છે. સભાસ્થાનમાંથી બહાર આવ, કેમ કે તેં પાપ કર્યું છે. ત્યાં પ્રભુ, ઈશ્વર તરફથી તને સન્માન મળશે નહિ.”
19 Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in Yahweh’s house, beside the altar of incense.
૧૯પછી ઉઝિયાને ક્રોધ ચઢયો. તેના હાથમાં ધૂપદાની હતી. જયારે તે યાજકો પર કોપાયમાન થયો હતો, ત્યારે ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં યાજકોના જોતાં ધૂપવેદીની બાજુમાં જ તેના કપાળમાં કોઢ ફૂટી નીકળ્યો.
20 Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead; and they thrust him out quickly from there. Indeed, he himself also hurried to go out, because Yahweh had struck him.
૨૦અઝાર્યા મુખ્ય યાજકે તથા બીજા સર્વ યાજકોએ તેની તરફ જોયું, તો તેઓએ તેના કપાળ પર કોઢ જોયો. તેઓએ તેને ત્યાંથી એકદમ કાઢી મૂક્યો. તેણે પોતે પણ બહાર નીકળી જવાને ઉતાવળ કરી, કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે તેને રોગી કર્યો હતો.
21 Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from Yahweh’s house. Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
૨૧ઉઝિયા રાજા પોતાના મરણના દિવસ સુધી કુષ્ટરોગી રહ્યો. તેને કારણે તેને અલગ ખંડમાં રહેવું પડ્યું હતું. તેને ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં આવવાથી વંચિત રાખવામાં આવ્યો હતો. તેનો પુત્ર યોથામ રાજાના મહેલનો ઉપરી થઈને દેશના લોકોનો ન્યાય ચૂકવતો હતો.
22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, wrote.
૨૨ઉઝિયાના બાકીનાં કૃત્યો પહેલેથી તે છેલ્લે સુધી આમોસના પુત્ર યશાયા પ્રબોધકે લખ્યાં છે.
23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings, for they said, “He is a leper.” Jotham his son reigned in his place.
૨૩તેથી ઉઝિયા પોતાના પૂર્વજોની સાથે ઊંઘી ગયો; તેઓએ તેને રાજાઓના કબ્રસ્તાનની બાજુના ખેતરમાં તેના પૂર્વજોની સાથે દફનાવ્યો, કેમ કે તેઓએ કહ્યું, “તે કુષ્ટરોગી છે.” તેનો પુત્ર યોથામ તેની જગ્યાએ રાજા બન્યો.
