2 Chronicles 18
1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and he allied himself with Ahab.
१यहोशाफाटाला भरपूर धनदौलत आणि बहुमान मिळाला. राजा अहाबाच्या घराण्याशी सोयरीक जुळवून त्याने त्यांच्याशी सलोखा केला.
2 After some years, he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.
२त्यानंतर काही वर्षांनी यहोशाफाट शोमरोन येथे अहाबाच्या भेटीला गेला. त्याप्रसंगी यहोशाफाट आणि त्याच्याबरोबरचे लोक यांच्याप्रीत्यर्थ अहाबाने बरेच बैल आणि शेळ्यामेंढ्या यांचे बली दिले. अहाबाने यहोशाफाटाला रामोथ-गिलादावर चढाई करण्यास प्रवृत्त केले.
3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”
३अहाब त्यास म्हणाला, “रामोथ-गिलादावरील स्वारीत तूही माझ्याबरोबर सहभागी होशील का?” अहाब इस्राएलचा राजा होता आणि यहोशाफाट यहूदाचा. यहोशाफाट त्यास म्हणाला, “तू आणि मी काही वेगळे नाही. माझी माणसे ती तुझीच माणसे. आम्ही अवश्य लढाईत भाग घेऊ.”
4 Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for Yahweh’s word.”
४यहोशाफाट इस्राएलाच्या राजाला पुढे असेही म्हणाला, “पण त्यापुर्वी परमेश्वराचा आदेशही घेऊ या.”
5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up, for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
५तेव्हा इस्राएलाचा राजा अहाबाने सुमारे चारशे संदेष्ट्यांना बोलावून विचारले, आम्ही रामोथ-गिलादावर स्वारी करावी की नाही? तेव्हा ते संदेष्टे राजा अहाबाला म्हणाले, “जरुर जा. कारण देव राजाला जय देईल.”
6 But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?”
६पण यहोशाफाट म्हणाला, “यांच्याखेरीज परमेश्वराचा संदेष्टा इथे कोणी आहे का? परमेश्वरास त्याच्या संदेष्ट्यामार्फतच आपण विचारायला हवे.”
7 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
७तेव्हा इस्राएलाचा राजा यहोशाफाटाला म्हणाला, “इथे तसा एकजण आहे. त्याच्या मार्फत आपण परमेश्वरास विचारु शकतो. पण मला त्याच्याकडून कधीच अनुकूल संदेश मिळत नाही. नेहमी प्रतिकूल संदेशच तो मला देतो, त्यामुळे मला त्याचा द्वेष वाटतो. त्याचे नाव मीखाया. तो इम्लाचा पुत्र.” पण यहोशाफाट म्हणाला, “अहाब, तू असे म्हणू नकोस.”
8 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”
८तेव्हा इस्राएलाच्या राजाने आपल्या एका कारभाऱ्याला बोलावून “इम्लाचा पुत्र मीखाया याला लगेच घेऊन यायला सांगितले.”
9 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah each sat on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
९इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब आणि यहूदाचा राजा यहोशाफाट राजवस्त्रे परिधान करून शोमरोन नगराच्या वेशीजवळच्या खळ्यात आपापल्या सिंहासनांवर विराजमान झाले होते. त्यांच्यासमोर ते चारशे संदेष्टे भविष्यकथन करत होते.
10 Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron and said, “Yahweh says, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
१०कनानचा पुत्र सिदकीया याने लोखंडाची शिंगे करून आणली होती. तो म्हणाला, “परमेश्वर म्हणतो ‘अरामी लोकांचा या शिंगांच्या सहाय्याने तुम्ही नाश कराल.’”
11 All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
११इतर सर्व संदेष्ट्यांनीही तेच सांगितले. ते म्हणाले, “रामोथ-गिलाद वर चालून जा. तुम्ही विजयी व्हाल. परमेश्वर तुझ्या हातून म्हणजे राजाच्या हातून अराम्यांचा पराभव करील.”
12 The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”
१२मीखायला आणायला गेलेला निरोप्या त्यास म्हणाला, “मीखाया, ऐक सगळ्या संदेष्ट्यांचे म्हणणे एकच आहे. राजाची सरशी होईल असे ते म्हणतात. तेव्हा तूही तसेच म्हणावेस. तू ही चांगले उद्गार काढ.”
13 Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, I will say what my God says.”
१३पण मीखाया म्हणाला, “परमेश्वराची शपथ तो जे म्हणेल, तसेच मी बोलणार.”
14 When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”
१४मीखाया मग अहाब राजाकडे आला. राजा त्यास म्हणाला, “मीखाया, आम्ही रामोथ-गिलादावर स्वारी करावी की नाही?” मीखाया म्हणाला, “खुशाल चढाई करा. व विजयी व्हा तो एक महान विजय असेल.”
15 The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”
१५राजा अहाब मीखायला म्हणाला, “परमेश्वराचे नाव उच्चारुन सत्य तेच सांग असे मी कितीदा तुला शपथ घेऊन सांगितले!”
16 He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
१६यावर मीखाया राजाला म्हणाला, “मेंढपाळाविना मेंढरे असावीत तसे मी इस्राएल लोकांस डोंगरांवर विखुरलेले पाहिले. परमेश्वर म्हणाला, यांना कोणी मालक नाही. ही आपापल्या घरी सुखरुप जावोत.”
17 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
१७इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब यहोशाफाटाला म्हणाला, “मीखाया मला कधीच परमेश्वराचा शुभसंदेश देत नाही. तो नेहमी प्रतिकूलच बोलतो असे मी तुला म्हणालोच होतो.”
18 Micaiah said, “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
१८मीखाया म्हणाला, “तुम्ही सर्वजण परमेश्वराचा संदेश काय आहे तो ऐका परमेश्वरास मी आपल्या सिंहासनावर बसलेले पाहिले, स्वर्गातील सर्व सेना त्याच्या उजव्या व डाव्या हाताला उभी होती.”
19 Yahweh said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
१९परमेश्वर म्हणाला, “इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब याला रामोथ-गिलादावर हल्ला करायला कोण बरे युक्तीने प्रवृत्त करील? म्हणजे अहाबाच्या तेथेच शेवट होईल.” आणि एकजण म्हणाला या मार्गाने दुसऱ्याने म्हटले त्या मार्गाने,
20 A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’
२०“मग एक आत्मा पुढे आला आणि परमेश्वरासमोर उभा राहून म्हणाला, मी अहाबाला भुलवून टाकतो. परमेश्वराने त्या आत्म्याला विचारले कसे बरे?”
21 “He said, ‘I will go, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go and do so.’
२१तेव्हा तो म्हणाला, “अहाबाच्या संदेष्ट्यांच्या तोंडून असत्य वदवणारा आत्मा असे मी रुप घेईन. तेव्हा परमेश्वर त्यास म्हणाला, तू अहाबाला मोहात पाडू शकशील, चल जा आपल्या कामगिरीवर.”
22 “Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
२२“अहाब, आता तूच पाहा. परमेश्वराने तुझ्या संदेष्ट्यांच्या तोंडी असत्य बोलणाऱ्या आत्म्याचा संचार केला आहे. तुझ्यावर अरिष्ट येणार असे परमेश्वराने बोलून दाखवले आहे.”
23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”
२३तेवढ्यात कनानाचा पुत्र सिदकीयाने पुढे होऊन मीखायाच्या थोबाडीत मारले. तो म्हणाला, “मीखाया, मला सोडून परमेश्वराचा आत्मा तुझ्याशी बोलायला गेला तो कोणत्या दिशेने?”
24 Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
२४मीखाया म्हणाला, “पाहा, घराच्या अगदी आतल्या खोलीत तू लपायला पळ काढशील तेव्हा तुला ते कळेल.”
25 The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
२५इस्राएलाचा राजा म्हणाला, “मीखायाला नगराचा सुभेदार आमोन आणि राज पुत्र योवाश यांच्याकडे घेऊन जा
26 and say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
२६आमोन आणि योवाश यांना म्हणावे, राजाचे म्हणणे असे: मीखायाला कैदेत टाका. मी युध्दावरुन सुखरूप परतेपर्यंत त्यास कैदयांना देण्यात येणारी भाकर व पाणी द्या.”
27 Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you people, all of you!”
२७मीखाया म्हणाला, “अहाब तू लढाईनंतर सुखरुप परत आलास तर परमेश्वर माझ्याद्वारे बोललेला नाही असे खुशाल समज. लोकहो, माझे हे शब्द लक्षात ठेवा.”
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
२८इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब आणि यहूदाचा राजा यहोशाफाट यांनी रामोथ-गिलादावर हल्ला चढवला.
29 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
२९इस्राएलाचा राजा यहोशाफाटाला म्हणाला, “मी युध्दात जातांना वेषांतर करतो. तू मात्र राजवस्त्रेच घाल.” आणि त्याप्रमाणे राजा अहाबाने वेषांतर केले आणि दोनही राजे लढाईला भिडले.
30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
३०अरामाच्या राजाने आपल्या रथावरच्या सरदारांना आज्ञा केली होती की, “इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब याच्यावरच फक्त हल्ला करा. बाकी लहानथोर कोणाशीही लढू नका.”
31 When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
३१त्या सरदारांनी यहोशाफाटाला पाहिले तेव्हा त्यांना वाटले, “हाच अहाब इस्राएलचा राजा.” म्हणून ते यहोशाफाटाकडे वळले. पण यहोशाफाट मोठ्याने ओरडला आणि परमेश्वर त्याच्या मदतीला आला. त्याने त्या सरदारांना यहोशाफाटापासून दूर वळवले.
32 When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
३२हा इस्राएलचा राजा नाही असे सरदारांच्या लक्षात आले तेव्हा त्यांनी त्याचा पाठलाग सोडून दिला.
33 A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”
३३पण कोणी एका सैनिकाने सहज म्हणून, लक्ष्य निश्चित न करता, धनुष्यातून एक बाण सोडला आणि तो नक्की चिलखताच्या सांध्यातून इस्राएलाच्या राजाच्या शरीरात रुतला. अहाब आपल्या सारथ्याला म्हणाला, “मागे वळ आणि मला युध्द भूमीतून बाहेर काढ. मी जखमी झालो आहे.”
34 The battle increased that day. However, the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening; and at about sunset, he died.
३४त्यादिवशी घनघोर युध्द झाले. अराम्याकडे तोंड करून इस्राएलाचा राजा अहाब आपल्या रथात संध्याकाळपर्यंत टेकून बसला. संध्याकाळी सुर्यास्ताच्या वेळेस तो मरण पावला.
