1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men,
Exhorto ante todo, que sean hechas peticiones, conversaciones con Dios, súplicas y acciones de gracias por todos los hombres,
2 for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
por [los] reyes y por todos los que están en posición de autoridad, a fin de que pasemos una vida diaria tranquila y quieta, con toda piedad y dignidad.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
Esto es bueno y agradable delante de Dios nuestro Salvador,
4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
el cual desea que todos los hombres sean salvos y acudan al conocimiento de la verdad.
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Porque hay un solo Dios y un solo Mediador entre Dios y hombres: Cristo Jesús, Hombre,
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time,
Quien se dio a sí mismo como rescate por todos. El testimonio [fue dado] en tiempos apropiados,
7 to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
para lo cual yo fui constituido predicador y apóstol (digo verdad, no miento), maestro de [los] gentiles en fe y verdad.
8 I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
Quiero, pues, que los hombres hablen con Dios en todo lugar y levanten manos santas, sin ira ni discusión.
9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing,
Asimismo, que las mujeres se adornen con ropa decorosa, con modestia y decencia, no con peinados ostentosos, ni oro, ni perlas, ni ropa costosa,
10 but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness.
sino con buenas obras, lo cual conviene a mujeres que profesan reverencia a Dios.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission.
Que una mujer aprenda en quietud, con toda sumisión,
12 But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
pues no permito a una mujer enseñar ni dominar a un varón, sino estar en quietud.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
Porque Adán fue formado primero, luego Eva.
14 Adam wasn’t deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
Adán no fue engañado, sino la esposa. Cuando fue engañada, cayó en transgresión.
15 but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety.
Pero será preservada por medio de la procreación, cuando permanezca en [la] fe, [el ]amor, y [la ]santificación con modestia.
