1 Thessalonians 5
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
૧હવે ભાઈઓ, સમયો તથા ઈશ્વરીય પ્રસંગો વિષે તમને લખી જણાવવાંની કોઈ જરૂર નથી.
2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
૨કેમ કે તમે પોતે સારી રીતે જાણો છો કે, જેમ રાત્રે ચોર આવે છે તે પ્રમાણે પ્રભુ ઈસુનો દિવસ આવી રહ્યો છે.
3 For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.
૩કેમ કે જયારે લોકો કહેશે કે, ‘શાંતિ તથા સલામતી છે’, ત્યારે સગર્ભાની વેદનાની જેમ તેઓનો એકાએક વિનાશ થશે, તેઓ બચવા પામશે જ નહિ.
4 But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
૪પણ ભાઈઓ, તમે અંધારામાં નથી, કે તે દિવસ ચોરની પેઠે તમારા પર આવી પડે.
5 You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,
૫તમે સઘળાં અજવાળાનાં અને દિવસના દીકરાઓ છો; આપણે રાતનાં કે અંધકારનાં સંતાનો નથી.
6 so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
૬એ માટે બીજાઓની જેમ આપણે ઊંઘીએ નહિ, પણ જાગતા તથા સાવધાન રહીએ.
7 For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
૭કેમ કે ઊંઘનારાઓ રાત્રે ઊંઘે છે અને દારૂ પીનારાઓ રાત્રે છાકટા થાય છે.
8 But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
૮પણ આપણે દિવસના છીએ, માટે વિશ્વાસનું તથા પ્રેમનું બખતર અને ઉદ્ધારની આશાનો ટોપ પહેરીને સાવધાન રહીએ.
9 For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
૯કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે આપણને કોપને સારુ નહિ, પણ આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત દ્વારા ઉદ્ધાર પ્રાપ્ત કરવા સારુ નિર્માણ કર્યા છે;
10 who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
૧૦ખ્રિસ્ત આપણે સારુ મરણ પામ્યા, કે જેથી આપણે જાગીએ કે ઊંઘીએ; તેમની સાથે જીવીએ.
11 Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
૧૧માટે જેમ તમે હમણાં કરો છો તેમ જ અરસપરસ દિલાસો આપો અને એકબીજાને મજબૂત કરો.
12 But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
૧૨પણ, ભાઈઓ, અમે તમને વિનંતી કરીએ છીએ કે, જેઓ તમારા માટે શ્રમ કરે છે, પ્રભુમાં તમારા આગેવાન છે તથા તમને બોધ કરે છે તેઓની તમે કદર કરો;
13 and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
૧૩અને તેઓની સેવાને લીધે પ્રેમસહિત તેઓને અતિ ઘણું માન આપો; તમે એકબીજાની સાથે શાંતિમાં રહો.
14 We exhort you, brothers: Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all.
૧૪વળી, ભાઈઓ, અમે તમને વિનંતી કરીએ છીએ કે, તમે આળસુઓને ચેતવણી, નિરાશ થયેલાઓને ઉત્તેજન અને નિર્બળોને આધાર આપો, સઘળાંની સાથે સહનશીલ થાઓ.
15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
૧૫સાવધ રહો કે, કોઈ દુષ્ટતાનાં બદલામાં સામી દુષ્ટતા ન આચરે પણ તમે સદા એકબીજાનું તથા સર્વનું હિત સાધવાને યત્ન કરો.
16 Always rejoice.
૧૬સદા આનંદ કરો;
17 Pray without ceasing.
૧૭નિરંતર પ્રાર્થના કરો;
18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
૧૮દરેક બાબતમાં આભારસ્તુતિ કરો, કેમ કે તમારા વિષે ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છા એવી જ છે.
19 Don’t quench the Spirit.
૧૯આત્માને હોલવશો નહિ,
20 Don’t despise prophecies.
૨૦પ્રબોધવાણીઓને તુચ્છકારશો નહિ.
21 Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
૨૧પણ સઘળી બાબતોને પારખો, જે સારું છે તેને પકડી રાખો.
22 Abstain from every form of evil.
૨૨દરેક પ્રકારની દુષ્ટતાથી દૂર રહો.
23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
૨૩શાંતિના ઈશ્વર પોતે તમને સંપૂર્ણ પવિત્ર કરો અને આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં આગમન સુધી તમારો આત્મા, પ્રાણ તથા શરીર નિર્દોષતામાં સંભાળી રાખો.
24 He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
૨૪જેમણે તમને બોલાવ્યા છે તે વિશ્વસનીય છે અને તે એમ કરશે.
25 Brothers, pray for us.
૨૫ભાઈઓ, અમારે માટે પ્રાર્થના કરો.
26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
૨૬પવિત્ર ચુંબનથી સર્વ ભાઈઓને સલામ કહેજો.
27 I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
૨૭હું તમને પ્રભુમાં પ્રતિજ્ઞા લેવડાવું છું કે, આ પત્ર બધા ભાઈઓને વાંચી સંભળાવજો.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
૨૮આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તની કૃપા તમારા પર હો.
