1 Peter 1
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
૧ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનો પ્રેરિત પિતર લખે છે કે, વેરવિખેર થઈને પોન્તસ, ગલાતિયા, કપાદોકિયા, આસિયા, અને બિથુનિયામાં પરદેશી તરીકે ઈશ્વરથી પસંદ કરેલાઓ;
2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
૨જેઓને ઈશ્વરપિતાના પૂર્વજ્ઞાન પ્રમાણે આત્માનાં પવિત્રીકરણથી આજ્ઞાકારી થવા અને ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં રક્તથી છંટકાવ પામવા સારુ પસંદ કરેલા છે, તેવા તમ સર્વ પર પુષ્કળ કૃપા તથા શાંતિ હો.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
૩આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં ઈશ્વર તથા પિતાની સ્તુતિ થાઓ; તેમણે પોતાની પુષ્કળ દયા પ્રમાણે મૂએલામાંથી ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં પુનરુત્થાન દ્વારા આપણને જીવંત આશાને સારુ,
4 to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,
૪અવિનાશી, નિર્મળ તથા જર્જરિત ન થનારા વારસાને માટે આપણને નવો જન્મ આપ્યો છે, તે વારસો તમારે માટે સ્વર્ગમાં રાખી મૂકેલો છે.
5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
૫છેલ્લાં સમયમાં જે ઉદ્ધાર પ્રગટ થવાની તૈયારીમાં છે, તેને માટે ઈશ્વરના સામર્થ્ય વડે વિશ્વાસથી તમને સંભાળવામાં આવે છે.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,
૬એમાં તમે બહુ આનંદ કરો છો, જોકે હમણાં થોડા સમય માટે વિવિધ પ્રકારનાં પરીક્ષણ થયાથી તમે દુઃખી છો.
7 that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
૭એ માટે કે તમારા વિશ્વાસની પરીક્ષા જે અગ્નિથી પરખાયેલા નાશવંત સોના કરતાં વધુ મૂલ્યવાન છે, તે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં પ્રગટ થવાની ઘડીએ સ્તુતિ, માન તથા મહિમા યોગ્ય થાય.
8 whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,
૮તેમને ન જોયા છતાં પણ તમે તેમના પર પ્રેમ રાખો છો, જોકે અત્યારે તમે તેમને જોતાં નથી, તોપણ તેમના પર વિશ્વાસ રાખો છો અને તમે તેમનાંમાં અવર્ણનીય તથા મહિમા ભરેલા આનંદથી હરખાઓ છો.
9 receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
૯તમે પોતાના વિશ્વાસનું ફળ, એટલે આત્માઓનો ઉદ્ધાર પામો છો.
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently. They prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
૧૦જે પ્રબોધકોએ તમારા પરની કૃપા વિષે ભવિષ્યકથન કર્યું તેઓએ તે ઉદ્ધાર વિષે તપાસીને ખંતથી શોધ કરી.
11 searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them pointed to when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow them.
૧૧ખ્રિસ્તનો આત્મા જે તેઓમાં હતો તેણે ખ્રિસ્તનાં દુઃખ તથા તે પછીના મહિમા વિષે સાક્ષી આપી, ત્યારે તેણે કયો અથવા કેવો સમય બતાવ્યો તેનું સંશોધન તેઓ કરતા હતા.
12 To them it was revealed that they served not themselves, but you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
૧૨જે પ્રગટ કરાયું હતું તેનાથી તેઓએ પોતાની નહિ, પણ તમારી સેવા કરી. સ્વર્ગમાંથી મોકલાયેલા પવિત્ર આત્માની સહાયથી જેઓએ તમને સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરી તેઓ દ્વારા તે વાતો તમને હમણાં જણાવવાંમાં આવી; જે વાતોને જોવાની ઉત્કંઠા સ્વર્ગદૂતો પણ ધરાવે છે.
13 Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
૧૩એ માટે તમે પોતાના મનને નિયંત્રણમાં રાખો અને જે કૃપા ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં પ્રગટ થવાની ઘડીએ તમારા પર થશે તેની સંપૂર્ણ આશા રાખો.
14 as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,
૧૪તમે આજ્ઞાકારી સંતાનો જેવા થાઓ, અને પોતાની અગાઉની અજ્ઞાન અવસ્થાની દુષ્ટ ઇચ્છાઓ પ્રમાણે ન ચાલો.
15 but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior,
૧૫પણ જેમણે તમને તેડ્યાં છે, તે જેવા પવિત્ર છે તેમના જેવા તમે પણ સર્વ વ્યવહારમાં પવિત્ર થાઓ.
16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
૧૬કેમ કે એમ લખ્યું છે કે, “હું પવિત્ર છું, માટે તમે પવિત્ર થાઓ.”
17 If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear,
૧૭અને જે પક્ષપાત વગર દરેકનાં કામ પ્રમાણે ન્યાય કરે છે, તેમને જો તમે પિતા કહીને વિનંતી કરો છો, તો તમારા અહીંના પ્રવાસનો સમય બીકમાં વિતાવો.
18 knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,
૧૮કેમ કે તમે એ જાણો છો કે તમારા પિતૃઓથી ચાલ્યા આવતાં વ્યર્થ આચરણથી તમે નાશવંત વસ્તુઓ, એટલે રૂપા અથવા સોના વડે નહિ,
19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ,
૧૯પણ ખ્રિસ્ત જે નિષ્કલંક તથા નિર્દોષ હલવાન છે તેમના મૂલ્યવાન રક્તથી તમે ખરીદી લેવાયેલા છો.
20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake,
૨૦તેઓ તો સૃષ્ટિના પ્રારંભ પૂર્વે નિયુક્ત કરાયેલા હતા ખરા, પણ તમારે માટે આ છેલ્લાં સમયમાં પ્રગટ થયા.
21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.
૨૧તેમને મારફતે તમે ઈશ્વર પર વિશ્વાસ રાખો છો, જેમણે તેમને મરણમાંથી ઉઠાડયા અને મહિમા આપ્યો, એ માટે કે તમારો વિશ્વાસ તથા આશા ઈશ્વર પર રહે.
22 Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently,
૨૨તમે સત્યને આધીન રહીને ભાઈ પરના નિષ્કપટ પ્રેમને માટે તમારાં મનને પવિત્ર કર્યા છે, માટે શુદ્ધ હૃદયથી એકબીજા પર આગ્રહથી પ્રેમ કરો.
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever. (aiōn g165)
૨૩કેમ કે તમને વિનાશી બીજથી નહિ, પણ અવિનાશી બીજથી, ઈશ્વરના જીવંત તથા સદા ટકનાર વચન વડે નવો જન્મ આપવામાં આવ્યો છે. (aiōn g165)
24 For, “All flesh is like grass, and all of man’s glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
૨૪કેમ કે, ‘સર્વ લોકો ઘાસનાં જેવા છે અને મનુષ્યનો બધો વૈભવ ઘાસનાં ફૂલ જેવો છે. ઘાસ સુકાઈ જાય છે અને તેનું ફૂલ ખરી પડે છે,
