1 Kings 22
1 They continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
Reposaron tres años sin guerra entre los Siros e Israel.
2 In the third year, Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
Al tercero año aconteció, que Josafat rey de Judá descendió al rey de Israel.
3 The king of Israel said to his servants, “You know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we do nothing, and don’t take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?”
Y el rey de Israel dijo a sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que es nuestra Ramot de Galaad? Y nosotros cesamos de tomarla de mano del rey de Siria.
4 He said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”
Y dijo a Josafat: ¿Quieres venir conmigo a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad? Y Josafat respondió al rey de Israel: Como yo, así tú: y como mi pueblo, así tu pueblo: y como mis caballos, tus caballos.
5 Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for Yahweh’s word.”
Y dijo Josafat al rey de Israel: Yo te ruego que consultes hoy la palabra de Jehová.
6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Should I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain?” They said, “Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
Entonces el rey de Israel juntó como cuatrocientos varones profetas, a los cuales dijo: ¿Iré a la guerra contra Ramot de Galaad, o dejarla he? Y ellos dijeron: Sube, porque el Señor la entregará en manos del rey.
7 But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”
Y dijo Josafat: ¿Hay aun aquí algún profeta de Jehová por el cual consultemos?
8 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
Y el rey de Israel respondió a Josafat: Aun hay un varón, por el cual podríamos consultar a Jehová, Miqueas, hijo de Jemla; mas yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza bien, sino solamente mal. Y Josafat dijo: No hable el rey así.
9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah.”
Entonces el rey de Israel llamó a un eunuco, y díjole: Trae presto a Miqueas, hijo de Jemla.
10 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
Y el rey de Israel, y Josafat rey de Judá, estaban sentados cada uno en su trono real, vestidos de sus ropas reales, en la plaza junto a la entrada de la puerta de Samaria, y todos los profetas profetizaban delante de ellos.
11 Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron, and said, “Yahweh says, ‘With these you will push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
Y Sedequias, hijo de Canaana, se había hecho unos cuernos de hierro, y dijo: Así dijo Jehová: Con estos acornearás a los Siros hasta acabarlos.
12 All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
Y todos los profetas profetizaban de la misma manera, diciendo: Sube a Ramot de Galaad, y serás prosperado, que Jehová la dará en mano del rey.
13 The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good.”
Y el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Miqueas, le habló, diciendo: He aquí, las palabras de los profetas a una boca anuncian al rey bien: sea ahora tu palabra conforme a la palabra de alguno de ellos, y habla bien.
14 Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”
Y Miqueas respondió: Vive Jehová, que lo que Jehová me hablare, eso diré.
15 When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?” He answered him, “Go up and prosper; and Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
Y vino al rey, y el rey le dijo: Miqueas, ¿iremos a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad, o dejarla hemos? Y él le respondió: Sube, que serás prosperado, y Jehová la entregará en mano del rey.
16 The king said to him, “How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”
Y el rey le dijo: ¿Hasta cuántas veces te conjurare, que no me digas sino la verdad, en el nombre de Jehová?
17 He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
Entonces él dijo: Yo ví a todo Israel esparcido por los montes como ovejas que no tienen pastor: y Jehová dijo: Estos no tienen señor, vuélvase cada uno a su casa en paz.
18 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: ¿No te lo había yo dicho? Este ninguna cosa buena profetizará sobre mí, sino solamente mal.
19 Micaiah said, “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
Entonces él dijo: Oye pues palabra de Jehová: Yo ví a Jehová sentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba junto a él, a su diestra y a su siniestra.
20 Yahweh said, ‘Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One said one thing, and another said another.
Y Jehová dijo: ¿Quién inducirá a Acab, para que suba, y caiga en Ramot de Galaad? Y uno decía de una manera, y otro decía de otra.
21 A spirit came out and stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’
Y salió un espíritu, y púsose delante de Jehová, y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y Jehová le dijo: ¿De qué manera?
22 Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’ He said, ‘I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ He said, ‘You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.’
Y él dijo: Yo saldré, y seré espíritu de mentira en boca de todos sus profetas. Y él dijo: Inducirle has, y aun saldrás con ello: sal pues, y házlo así.
23 Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
Y ahora, he aquí, Jehová ha puesto espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos estos tus profetas, y Jehová ha decretado mal sobre ti.
24 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”
Y llegándose Sedequias, hijo de Canaana, hirió a Miqueas en la mejilla, diciendo: ¿Por dónde se fue de mí el Espíritu de Jehová para hablarte a ti?
25 Micaiah said, “Behold, you will see on that day when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
Y Miqueas respondió: He aquí, tú lo verás en el mismo día, cuando te irás metiendo de cámara en cámara por esconderte.
26 The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son.
Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Toma a Miqueas y vuélvele a Amón gobernador de la ciudad, y a Joas hijo del rey.
27 Say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”
Y dirás: Así dijo el rey: Echád a este en la cárcel, y mantenédle con pan de angustia, y con agua de angustia, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.
28 Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, all you people!”
Y dijo Miqueas: Si volviendo volvieres en paz, Jehová no ha hablado por mí. Y tornó a decir: Oíd todos los pueblos.
29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
Así subió el rey de Israel, y Josafat rey de Judá a Ramot de Galaad.
30 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into the battle, but you put on your robes.” The king of Israel disguised himself and went into the battle.
Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: Yo me disfrazaré, y así entraré en la batalla: y tú vístete tus vestidos. Y el rey de Israel se disfrazó, y entró en la batalla.
31 Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
Y el rey de Siria había mandado a sus treinta y dos capitanes de los carros, diciendo: No peleéis vosotros con grande ni con chico, sino contra solo el rey de Israel.
32 When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “Surely that is the king of Israel!” and they came over to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.
Y como los capitanes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: Ciertamente este es el rey de Israel, y viniéronse a él para pelear con él: mas el rey Josafat dio voces.
33 When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
Y viendo los capitanes de los carros que no era el rey de Israel, apartáronse de él.
34 A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around, and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”
Mas un varón flechando su arco cuanto pudo, hirió al rey de Israel por entre las junturas y las corazas. Y él dijo a su carretero, vuelve las riendas, y sácame del campo, que estoy herido.
35 The battle increased that day. The king was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians, and died at evening. The blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
La batalla se había encendido aquel día, y el rey estaba en su carro delante de los Siros: y a la tarde murió: y la sangre de la herida corría por el seno del carro.
36 A cry went throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, “Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”
Y a puesta del sol pasó un pregón por el campo, diciendo: Cada uno se vaya a su ciudad: y cada uno a su tierra.
37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
Y el rey murió, y fue traído a Samaria; y sepultaron al rey en Samaria.
38 They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood where the prostitutes washed themselves, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke.
Y lavaron el carro en el estanque de Samaria, y los perros lamieron su sangre: y lavaron sus armas, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, que había hablado.
39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Lo demás de los hechos de Acab, y todas las cosas que hizo, y la casa de marfil que edificó, y todas las ciudades, que edificó, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
Y durmió Acab con sus padres, y reinó en su lugar Ocozías su hijo.
41 Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
Y Josafat, hijo de Asa, comenzó a reinar sobre Judá en el cuarto año de Acab rey de Israel.
42 Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
Y era Josafat de treinta y cinco años, cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó veinte y cinco años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fue Azuba, hija de Salai.
43 He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
Y anduvo en todo el camino de Asa su padre, sin declinar de él, haciendo lo que era recto en los ojos de Jehová. Con todo eso los altos no fueron quitados; que aun el pueblo sacrificaba, y quemaba olores en los altos.
44 Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
Y Josafat hizo paz con el rey de Israel.
45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he fought, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Lo demás de los hechos de Josafat, y sus valentías, que hizo, y las guerras que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
46 The remnant of the sodomites, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
Y el resto de los sodomíticos que habían quedado en el tiempo de su padre Asa, él los barrió de la tierra.
47 There was no king in Edom. A deputy ruled.
Entonces no había rey en Edom, presidente había en lugar de rey.
48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, but they didn’t go, for the ships wrecked at Ezion Geber.
Josafat había hecho navíos en Társis, los cuales habían de ir a Ofir por oro: mas no fueron, porque se rompieron en Asión-gaber.
49 Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my servants go with your servants in the ships.” But Jehoshaphat would not.
Entonces Ocozías, hijo de Acab, dijo a Josafat: Vayan mis siervos con los tuyos en los navíos: mas Josafat no quiso.
50 Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city. Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
Y durmió Josafat con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre: y en su lugar reinó Joram su hijo.
51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
Y Ocozías, hijo de Acab, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, en Samaria, el año diez y siete de Josafat rey de Judá, y reinó dos años sobre Israel.
52 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
E hizo lo malo en los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de su padre, y en el camino de su madre, y en el camino de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar a Israel.
53 He served Baal and worshiped him, and provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger in all the ways that his father had done so.
Porque sirvió a Baal, y le adoró: y provocó a ira a Jehová Dios de Israel, conforme a todas las cosas que su padre había hecho.
