1 John 4

1 Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Geliebte, glaubt nicht jeglichem Geiste, sondern prüft die Geister, ob sie von Gott sind; denn viele falsche Propheten sind in die Welt ausgegangen.

2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

Daran erkennt den Geist Gottes: Jeder Geist, der da bekennt, daß Jesus Christus ist in das Fleisch gekommen, ist von Gott;

3 and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.

Und ein jeglicher Geist, der Jesus Christus nicht als ins Fleisch gekommen bekennt, der ist nicht von Gott, und das ist der

4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.

Ihr seid aus Gott, Kindlein, und habt sie überwunden, denn Der in euch ist, ist größer, als der in der Welt ist.

5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

Sie sind von der Welt, darum reden sie von der Welt und die Welt hört auf sie.

6 We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Wir sind von Gott; wer Gott erkennt, der hört auf uns; wer nicht aus Gott ist, hört nicht auf uns. Daran erkennen wir den Geist der Wahrheit und den Geist der Irrlehre.

7 Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Geliebte, laßt uns einander lieben; denn die Liebe ist aus Gott und der da liebt, ist aus Gott geboren und erkennt Gott.

8 He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love.

Wer nicht liebt, hat Gott nicht erkannt; denn Gott ist die Liebe.

9 By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.

Darin hat sich die Liebe Gottes an uns geoffenbart, daß Gott Seinen eingeborenen Sohn in die Welt gesendet hat, daß wir durch Ihn leben sollten.

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Darin besteht die Liebe, nicht daß wir Gott liebten, sondern daß Er uns liebte und Seinen Sohn zur Versöhnung für unsere Sünden gesandt hat.

11 Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.

Geliebte, wenn uns nun Gott also geliebt hat, so sollen auch wir einander lieben.

12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.

Niemand hat Gott jemals geschaut. So wir einander lieben, so bleibt Gott in uns und Seine Liebe ist völlig in uns.

13 By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

Daran erkennen wir, daß wir in Ihm bleiben, und Er in uns, daß Er uns von Seinem Geist gegeben hat.

14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.

Und wir haben geschaut und zeugen, daß der Vater den Sohn als Heiland der Welt gesendet hat.

15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.

Wer nun bekennt, daß Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist, in dem bleibt Gott, und er in Gott.

16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

Und wir haben die Liebe, so Gott zu uns hat, erkannt, und an sie geglaubt. Gott ist Liebe, und wer in der Liebe bleibt, bleibt in Gott und Gott in ihm.

17 In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so we are in this world.

Daran ist die Liebe völlig in uns, auf daß wir freudiges Vertrauen haben am Tage des Gerichts, weil, wie Er ist, so auch wir in dieser Welt sind.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

Furcht ist nicht in der Liebe, sondern völlige Liebe treibt die Furcht aus; denn Furcht hat Strafe, und wer sich fürchtet, ist nicht vollkommen in der Liebe.

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Laßt uns Ihn lieben, denn Er hat uns zuerst geliebt.

20 If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

So jemand spricht: Ich liebe Gott, und haßt seinen Bruder, der ist ein Lügner; denn wer seinen Bruder nicht liebt, den er sieht, wie kann er Gott lieben, Den er nicht sieht?

21 This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.

Und dies Gebot haben wir von Ihm, daß, wer Gott liebt, auch seinen Bruder liebe.
