1 John 4
1 Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Geliebte, glaubt nicht jedem Geist, sondern prüfet die Geister, ob sie aus Gott sind; denn es sind viele Lügenpropheten ausgegangen in die Welt.
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
Daran erkennet den Geist Gottes: jeder Geist, der bekennet Jesus Christus im Fleisch gekommen, ist aus Gott;
3 and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.
und jeder Geist, der Jesus nicht bekennt, ist nicht aus Gott, und das ist das Wesen des Antichrist, wovon ihr gehört habt, daß er kommt, und jetzt ist er schon in der Welt.
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
Ihr seid aus Gott, Kinder, und habt sie überwunden, weil der in euch größer ist, als der in der Welt.
5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
Sie sind aus der Welt, darum reden sie aus der Welt heraus, und die Welt hört auf sie.
6 We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Wir sind aus Gott; wer Gott erkennt, hört auf uns; wer nicht aus Gott ist, hört nicht auf uns. Daran erkennen wir den Geist der Wahrheit und den Geist des Truges.
7 Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Geliebte, lasset uns einander lieben, weil die Liebe aus Gott ist, und jeder der liebt ist aus Gott gezeugt und erkennt Gott.
8 He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love.
Wer nicht liebt, hat Gott nicht erkannt, weil Gott Liebe ist.
9 By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
Daran ward die Liebe Gottes an uns offenbar, daß Gott seinen einzigen Sohn in die Welt gesandt hat, damit wir durch ihn leben.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Darauf steht die Liebe, nicht daß wir Gott geliebt haben, sondern daß er uns geliebt hat und hat seinen Sohn gesandt als Sühne für unsere Sünden.
11 Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.
Geliebte, wenn Gott so uns geliebt hat, so sind wir auch schuldig einander zu lieben.
12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
Gott geschaut hat niemand jemals: lieben wir einander, so ist er bleibend in uns, und seine Liebe ist vollendet in uns.
13 By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
Daran erkennen wir, daß wir in ihm bleiben und er in uns: weil er uns von seinem Geiste gegeben hat.
14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
Und wir, wir haben es geschaut und bezeugen es, daß der Vater den Sohn abgesandt hat als Heiland der Welt.
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.
Wer nun bekennt, daß Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist, in dem bleibt Gott, und er bleibt in Gott.
16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
Und wir haben erkannt und geglaubt die Liebe, welche Gott zu uns hat. Gott ist Liebe, und wer in der Liebe bleibt, bleibt in Gott und Gott bleibt in ihm.
17 In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so we are in this world.
Darin ist die Liebe an uns vollendet, daß wir Zuversicht haben am Tage des Gerichtes; weil wie er ist, so auch wir sind, in dieser Welt.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
Furcht ist nicht in der Liebe, sondern die vollkommene Liebe treibt die Furcht aus, weil es die Furcht mit Strafe zu thun hat; wer sich fürchtet, ist nicht vollendet in der Liebe.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Wir lieben, weil er uns zuerst geliebt hat.
20 If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
Wenn einer sagt: ich liebe Gott, und haßt seinen Bruder, so ist er ein Lügner. Denn der seinen Bruder nicht liebt, den er gesehen, kann Gott nicht lieben, den er nicht gesehen.
21 This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
Und dies ist das Gebot das wir von ihm haben, daß wer Gott liebt, auch seinen Bruder liebt.
