1 Corinthians 14

1 Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

౧ప్రేమ కలిగి ఉండడానికి ప్రయత్నం చేయండి. ఆత్మ సంబంధమైన వరాలను ఆసక్తితో కోరుకోండి. ముఖ్యంగా దైవసందేశం ప్రకటించగలిగే వరం కోరుకోండి.

2 For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.

౨ఎందుకంటే తెలియని భాషలతో మాట్లాడేవాడు మనుషులతో కాదు, దేవునితో మాట్లాడుతున్నాడు. అతడు పలికేది ఎవరికీ అర్థం కాదు. అతడు ఆత్మ ద్వారా రహస్య సత్యాలను పలుకుతున్నాడు.

3 But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation.

౩అయితే దైవసందేశం ప్రకటించేవాడు వినేవారికి క్షేమాభివృద్ధి, ఆదరణ, ఓదార్పు కలిగే విధంగా మనుషులతో మాట్లాడుతున్నాడు.

4 He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.

౪భాషతో మాట్లాడేవాడు తనకు మాత్రం మేలు చేసుకుంటాడు గాని దైవసందేశం ప్రకటించేవాడు ఆదరణ, ఓదార్పు కలిగిస్తూ సంఘానికి క్షేమాభివృద్ధి కలగజేస్తాడు.

5 Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but even more that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.

౫మీరంతా తెలియని భాషలతో మాట్లాడాలని నేను కోరుతున్నాను గాని, మీరు దైవసందేశం ప్రకటించేవారుగా ఉండాలని మరెక్కువగా కోరుతున్నాను. సంఘం అభివృద్ధి చెందడానికి భాషలతో మాట్లాడే వాడి కంటే (అర్థం చెబితే తప్ప) దేవుని పక్షంగా దేవుడు తెలియ చేసిన సందేశాన్ని ప్రకటించే వాడే గొప్పవాడు.

6 But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?

౬సోదరులారా, ఆలోచించండి. నేను మీ దగ్గరికి భాషలతో మాట్లాడుతూ వచ్చాననుకోండి. నా మాటలు మీకు అర్థం కాక, వాటిలో దేవుడు బయలు పరచిన విషయాలను గానీ, జ్ఞానం గానీ, దేవుడు చెప్పమన్న సందేశం గానీ, లేక ఎదైనా ఉపదేశం గానీ లేకుండా ఉంటే నా వలన మీకు ప్రయోజనమేమిటి?

7 Even lifeless things that make a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?

౭నిర్జీవమైన వస్తువులైన వేణువు ఊదినా, వీణ వాయించినా, అవి వేరు వేరు స్వరాలు పలకకపోతే, వాడిన వాయిద్యమేదో ఎలా తెలుస్తుంది?

8 For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?

౮బాకా స్పష్టంగా వినిపించకపోతే యుద్ధానికి ఎవరు సిద్ధపడతారు?

9 So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.

౯అలాగే మీ నాలుకతో స్పష్టమైన మాటలు పలకకపోతే వినేవారికి ఏం అర్థమౌతుంది? అది మీరు గాలితో మాట్లాడుతున్నట్టే ఉంటుంది కదా!

10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without meaning.

౧౦లోకంలో ఎన్నో భాషలున్నా, వాటన్నిటికీ స్పష్టమైన అర్థాలు ఉంటాయి.

11 If then I don’t know the meaning of the language, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.

౧౧మాటల అర్థం నాకు తెలియకపోతే మాట్లాడేవాడు నాకూ, నాకు అతడూ పరాయివారంగా ఉంటాం.

12 So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.

౧౨మీరు ఆత్మ సంబంధమైన వరాల విషయంలో ఆసక్తిగలవారు గనుక సంఘాన్ని అభివృద్ధి పరిచే వరాలను కోరుకుని వాటిలో అమితంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందండి.

13 Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.

౧౩కాబట్టి తెలియని భాషతో మాట్లాడేవాడు దానికి అర్థం చెప్పే సామర్ధ్యం కోసం ప్రార్థన చేయాలి.

14 For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

౧౪నేను తెలియని భాషతో ప్రార్థన చేసినపుడు నా ఆత్మ ప్రార్థన చేస్తుంది గాని నా మనసు చురుకుగా ఉండదు.

15 What should I do? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

౧౫కాబట్టి నేనేం చెయ్యాలి? నా ఆత్మతో ప్రార్ధిస్తాను, మనసుతో కూడా ప్రార్ధిస్తాను. ఆత్మతో పాడతాను, మనసుతో కూడా పాడతాను.

16 Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say?

౧౬అలా కాకుండా, నీవు ఆత్మతో మాత్రమే స్తుతులు చెల్లిస్తే నీవు పలికిన దాన్ని గ్రహించలేని వ్యక్తి నీవు చెప్పిన కృతజ్ఞతలకు, “ఆమేన్‌” అని చెప్పలేడు కదా!

17 For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.

౧౭నీకై నీవు బాగానే స్తుతులు చెల్లిస్తావు గానీ ఎదుటి వ్యక్తికి మేలు కలగదు.

18 I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.

౧౮దేవునికి స్తుతులు! నేను మీ అందరికంటే ఎక్కువగా తెలియని భాషలతో మాట్లాడతాను.

19 However, in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.

౧౯అయినా సంఘంలో తెలియని భాషతో పదివేల మాటలు పలకడం కంటే, ఇతరులకు ఉపదేశం దొరికేలా నా మనసుతో ఐదు మాటలు చెప్పడం మంచిది.

20 Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

౨౦సోదరులారా, ఆలోచనలో చిన్న పిల్లల్లాగా ఉండవద్దు. చెడు విషయంలో పసివారిలాగా ఉండండి గానీ ఆలోచించడంలో పరిణతి చెందినవారుగా ఉండండి.

21 In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”

౨౧ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో ఇలా రాసి ఉంది, “తెలియని భాషలు మాట్లాడే ప్రజల ద్వారా, తెలియని మనుషుల పెదవుల ద్వారా, ఈ ప్రజలతో మాట్లాడతాను. అయినప్పటికీ వారు నా మాట వినరు అని ప్రభువు చెబుతున్నాడు.”

22 Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.

౨౨కాబట్టి భాషలు విశ్వాసులకు కాదు, అవిశ్వాసులకే సూచన. దేవుడిచ్చిన సందేశాన్ని ప్రకటించడం అవిశ్వాసులకు కాదు, విశ్వాసులకే సూచన.

23 If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?

౨౩సంఘమంతా ఒకేసారి తెలియని భాషలతో మాట్లాడుతున్నప్పుడు, బయటి వ్యక్తులు లేక అవిశ్వాసులు లోపలికి వచ్చి చూస్తే మిమ్మల్ని వెర్రివారు అని చెప్పుకొంటారు కదా?

24 But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.

౨౪అయితే అందరూ దేవుడిచ్చిన సందేశాన్ని ప్రకటిస్తూ ఉంటే బయటి వ్యక్తి లేక అవిశ్వాసి లోపలికి వచ్చి చూస్తే మీ అందరి ఉపదేశం వలన తాను పాపినని గ్రహిస్తాడు, అందరి మూలంగా అతనికి ఒప్పుదల కలుగుతుంది.

25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

౨౫అప్పుడతని హృదయ రహస్యాలు బయలుపడతాయి. అప్పుడతడు సాగిలపడి దేవుణ్ణి ఆరాధించి, దేవుడు నిజంగా మీలో ఉన్నాడని ప్రకటిస్తాడు.

26 What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.

౨౬సోదరులారా, ఇప్పుడేం జరుగుతున్నది? మీరు సమావేశమైనప్పుడు ఒకడు ఒక కీర్తన పాడాలని, ఇంకొకడు దేవుని మాటలు ఉపదేశించాలని చూస్తున్నాడు, వేరొకడు దేవుడు తనకు బయలు పరచిన దాన్ని ప్రకటించాలని చూస్తున్నాడు. ఒకడు తెలియని భాషతో మాటలాడాలని చూస్తుండగా మరొకడు దానికి అర్థం చెప్పాలని కనిపెడుతున్నాడు. సరే, అంతటినీ సంఘాభివృద్ధి కోసం జరిగించండి.

27 If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.

౨౭ఎవరైనా తెలియని భాషతో మాట్లాడితే, ఇద్దరు, అవసరమైతే ముగ్గురికి మించకుండా, ఒకరి తరువాత ఒకరు మాట్లాడాలి. ఒకరు దానికి అర్థం చెప్పాలి.

28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.

౨౮అర్థం చెప్పేవాడు లేకపోతే అతడు సంఘంలో మౌనంగా ఉండాలి. అయితే అతడు తనతో, దేవునితో మాట్లాడుకోవచ్చు.

29 Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.

౨౯ప్రవక్తలు ఇద్దరు ముగ్గురు మాటలాడవచ్చు. మిగిలినవారు ఆ ఉపదేశాన్ని వివేచనాపూర్వకంగా వినాలి.

30 But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.

౩౦అయితే అక్కడ కూర్చున్న మరొకనికి ఏదైనా వెల్లడి అయితే మొదటివాడు మౌనంగా ఉండాలి.

31 For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.

౩౧అందరూ నేర్చుకొనేలా, ప్రోత్సాహం పొందేలా మీరంతా ఒకడి తరవాత ఒకడు దేవుడిచ్చిన సందేశం ప్రకటించ వచ్చు.

32 The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,

౩౨ప్రవక్తల ఆత్మలు ప్రవక్తల స్వాధీనంలో ఉన్నాయి.

33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.

౩౩ఎందుకంటే దేవుడు శాంతి సమాధానాలు కలిగించే వాడే గాని గందరగోళం కలిగించేవాడు కాడు. పరిశుద్ధుల సంఘాలన్నిటిలో

34 Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,

౩౪స్త్రీలు సంఘ సమావేశాల్లో మౌనంగా ఉండాలి. వారు లోబడి ఉండవలసిందే. వారికి మాట్లాడేందుకు అనుమతి లేదు. ఇదే విషయాన్ని ధర్మశాస్త్రం కూడా చెబుతున్నది.

35 if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”

౩౫వారు దేనినైనా తెలుసుకోవాలంటే వారి ఇంట్లో తమ భర్తలను అడగాలి. సంఘంలో స్త్రీ మాట్లాడడం అవమానకరం.

36 What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?

౩౬ఏం, దేవుని వాక్కు మీ నుండే బయలుదేరిందా? మీ దగ్గరికి మాత్రమే వచ్చిందా?

37 If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.

౩౭ఎవరైనా తాను ప్రవక్తననీ లేక ఆత్మీయ వ్యక్తిననీ భావిస్తే ఇక్కడ నేను మీకు రాస్తున్నవి ప్రభువు చెప్పిన ఆజ్ఞలని అతడు కచ్చితంగా తెలుసుకోవాలి.

38 But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

౩౮ఎవరైనా దీన్ని పట్టించుకోక పొతే అ వ్యక్తిని పట్టించుకోకండి.

39 Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don’t forbid speaking with other languages.

౩౯కాబట్టి నా సోదరులారా, దేవుడిచ్చిన సందేశం ప్రకటించడం అనే వరాన్ని ఆసక్తితో కోరుకోండి. తెలియని భాషలతో మాట్లాడటాన్ని ఆపకండి.

40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

౪౦అంతా మర్యాదగా, క్రమంగా జరగనీయండి.
