1 Corinthians 12
1 Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.
Περί δε των πνευματικών, αδελφοί, δεν θέλω να αγνοήτε.
2 You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.
Εξεύρετε ότι ήσθε εθνικοί, συρόμενοι όπως εσύρεσθε προς τα είδωλα τα άφωνα.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.
Διά τούτο σας γνωστοποιώ ότι ουδείς λαλών διά Πνεύματος Θεού λέγει ανάθεμα τον Ιησούν, και ουδείς δύναται να είπη Κύριον Ιησούν, ειμή διά Πνεύματος Αγίου.
4 Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
Είναι δε διαιρέσεις χαρισμάτων, το Πνεύμα όμως το αυτό·
5 There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.
είναι και διαιρέσεις διακονιών, ο Κύριος όμως ο αυτός·
6 There are various kinds of workings, but the same God who works all things in all.
είναι και διαιρέσεις ενεργημάτων, ο Θεός όμως είναι ο αυτός, ο ενεργών τα πάντα εν πάσι.
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.
Δίδεται δε εις έκαστον η φανέρωσις του Πνεύματος προς το συμφέρον.
8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
Διότι εις άλλον μεν δίδεται διά του Πνεύματος λόγος σοφίας, εις άλλον δε λόγος γνώσεως κατά το αυτό Πνεύμα,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
εις άλλον δε πίστις διά του αυτού Πνεύματος, εις άλλον δε χαρίσματα ιαμάτων διά του αυτού Πνεύματος,
10 and to another workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of languages, and to another the interpretation of languages.
εις άλλον δε ενέργειαι θαυμάτων, εις άλλον δε προφητεία, εις άλλον δε διακρίσεις πνευμάτων, εις άλλον δε είδη γλωσσών, εις άλλον δε ερμηνεία γλωσσών.
11 But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.
Πάντα δε ταύτα ενεργεί το εν και το αυτό Πνεύμα, διανέμον ιδία εις έκαστον καθώς θέλει.
12 For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.
Διότι καθώς το σώμα είναι εν και έχει μέλη πολλά, πάντα δε τα μέλη του σώματος του ενός, πολλά όντα, είναι εν σώμα, ούτω και ο Χριστός·
13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.
διότι ημείς πάντες διά του ενός Πνεύματος εβαπτίσθημεν εις εν σώμα, είτε Ιουδαίοι είτε Έλληνες, είτε δούλοι είτε ελεύθεροι, και πάντες εις εν Πνεύμα εποτίσθημεν.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Διότι το σώμα δεν είναι εν μέλος, αλλά πολλά.
15 If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.
Εάν είπη ο πους, Επειδή δεν είμαι χειρ, δεν είμαι εκ του σώματος, διά τούτο τάχα δεν είναι εκ του σώματος;
16 If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.
Και εάν είπη το ωτίον, Επειδή δεν είμαι οφθαλμός, δεν είμαι εκ του σώματος, διά τούτο δεν είναι τάχα εκ του σώματος;
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?
Εάν όλον το σώμα ήναι οφθαλμός, που η ακοή; Εάν όλον ακοή, που η όσφρησις;
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.
Αλλά τώρα ο Θεός έθεσε τα μέλη εν έκαστον αυτών εις το σώμα καθώς ηθέλησεν.
19 If they were all one member, where would the body be?
Εάν όμως πάντα ήσαν εν μέλος, που το σώμα;
20 But now they are many members, but one body.
Αλλά τώρα είναι μεν πολλά μέλη, εν όμως σώμα.
21 The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”
Και δεν δύναται ο οφθαλμός να είπη προς την χείρα· Δεν έχω χρείαν σου· ή πάλιν η κεφαλή προς τους πόδας· Δεν έχω χρείαν υμών.
22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.
Αλλά πολύ περισσότερον τα μέλη του σώματος, τα οποία φαίνονται ότι είναι ασθενέστερα, ταύτα είναι αναγκαία,
23 Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant modesty,
και εκείνα τα οποία νομίζομεν ότι είναι τα ατιμότερα του σώματος, εις ταύτα αποδίδομεν τιμήν περισσοτέραν, και τα άσχημα ημών έχουσι περισσοτέραν ευσχημοσύνην·
24 while our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,
τα δε ευσχήμονα ημών δεν έχουσι χρείαν. Αλλ' ο Θεός συνεκέρασε το σώμα, δώσας περισσοτέραν τιμήν εις το ευτελέστερον,
25 that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.
διά να μη ήναι σχίσμα εν τω σώματι, αλλά να φροντίζωσι τα μέλη το αυτό υπέρ αλλήλων.
26 When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
Και είτε πάσχει εν μέλος, πάντα τα μέλη συμπάσχουσιν· είτε τιμάται εν μέλος, πάντα τα μέλη συγχαίρουσι.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
Και σεις είσθε σώμα Χριστού και μέλη κατά μέρος.
28 God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.
Και άλλους μεν έθεσεν ο Θεός εν τη εκκλησία πρώτον αποστόλους, δεύτερον προφήτας, τρίτον διδασκάλους, έπειτα θαύματα, έπειτα χαρίσματα ιαμάτων, βοηθείας, κυβερνήσεις, είδη γλωσσών.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?
Μη πάντες είναι απόστολοι; μη πάντες προφήται; μη πάντες διδάσκαλοι; μη πάντες ενεργούσι θαύματα;
30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?
μη πάντες έχουσι χαρίσματα ιαμάτων; μη πάντες λαλούσι γλώσσας; μη πάντες διερμηνεύουσι;
31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
Ζητείτε δε μετά ζήλου τα καλήτερα χαρίσματα. Και έτι πολύ υπερέχουσαν οδόν σας δεικνύω.
