1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
Paulus, berufener Apostel Christus Jesus' durch Gottes Willen, und Sosthenes der Bruder
2 to the assembly of God which is at Corinth—those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
an die Gemeinde Gottes in Korinth, die in Christus Jesus geheiligten, berufene Heilige, samt allen die den Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus anrufen aller Orten, bei ihnen wie bei uns.
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Gnade euch und Friede von Gott unserem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.
4 I always thank my God concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
Ich danke meinem Gott allezeit um euretwillen über der Gnade Gottes, die euch in Christus Jesus verliehen ward,
5 that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge—
daß ihr in allen Stücken reich geworden seid in ihm, in Wort und Erkenntnis jeder Art,
6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you—
demgemäß daß das Zeugnis von Christus unter euch fest aufgerichtet ward:
7 so that you come behind in no gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
so daß ihr in keiner Gabe zurücksteht, dieweil ihr die Offenbarung unseres Herrn Jesus Christus erwartet,
8 who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
der euch auch befestigen wird bis ans Ende unklagbar auf den Tag unseres Herrn Jesus Christus.
9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Gott ist getreu, durch den ihr berufen seid zur Gemeinschaft seines Sohnes Jesus Christus unseres Herrn.
10 Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Ich ermahne euch aber, Brüder, durch den Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, daß ihr alle einstimmig seid und keine Spaltungen aufkommen lasset, sondern geschlossen steht in einerlei Verstand und einerlei Sinn.
11 For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
Denn ich habe Nachricht über euch erhalten, meine Brüder, durch die Leute der Chloe, dahin lautend, daß Zwistigkeiten unter euch sind.
12 Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”
Ich meine, daß je der eine von euch sagt: ich bin vom Paulus, der andere: ich vom Apollos, oder: ich vom Kephas, oder: ich vom Christus.
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
Ist Christus zerteilt? Ist etwa Paulus für euch gekreuzigt worden, oder seid ihr auf den Namen Paulus getauft?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
Ich danke, daß ich niemand von euch getauft habe, außer Crispus und Gajus,
15 so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.
damit man nicht sagen kann, ihr seiet auf meinen Namen getauft;
16 (I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)
ja doch, weiter habe ich noch die Leute des Stephanas getauft; sonst aber erinnere ich mich nicht, einen getauft zu haben.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.
Denn Christus hat mich nicht ausgesandt zu taufen, sondern das Evangelium zu verkünden, nicht in Wortweisheit, damit nicht das Kreuz Christi hohl werde.
18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Denn das Wort vom Kreuze ist den Verlorenen Thorheit, uns Erlösten aber Gottes Kraft.
19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”
Denn es steht geschrieben: Ich werde die Weisheit der Weisen verderben, und den Verstand der Verständigen vernichten.
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
Wo bleiben die Weisen? Wo die Schriftgelehrten? Wo die Streitkünstler dieser Welt? Hat nicht Gott die Weisheit der Welt zur Thorheit gemacht? (aiōn g165)
21 For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
Nämlich: da unter der Weisheit Gottes die Welt Gott nicht erkannte durch die Weisheit, so beschloß Gott durch die Thorheit der Verkündigung zu erretten die Glaubenden.
22 For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
Wie denn Juden Zeichen fordern, Griechen auf Weisheit ausgehen,
23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,
wir dagegen Christus am Kreuz verkünden, für Juden ein Aergernis, für Heiden eine Thorheit,
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;
für die Berufenen aber, Juden und Griechen: Christus, Gottes Kraft und Gottes Weisheit.
25 because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Denn das Thörichte, das von Gott kommt, ist weiser als die Menschen, und das Schwache, das von Gott kommt, ist stärker als die Menschen.
26 For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
Sehet doch eure Berufung an, Brüder, da sind nicht viel Weise nach dem Fleisch, nicht viel mächtige, nicht viel vornehme Leute.
27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world that he might put to shame the things that are strong.
Sondern was der Welt für thöricht gilt, hat Gott auserwählt, die Weisen zu beschämen; und was der Welt für schwach gilt, hat Gott auserwählt, das Starke zu beschämen;
28 God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,
und was der Welt für unedel gilt und verachtet ist, hat Gott auserwählt, was nichts ist, um zu nichte zu machen, was etwas ist:
29 that no flesh should boast before God.
damit allem Fleische der Ruhm benommen sei vor Gott.
30 Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
Aus ihm aber habt ihr das Sein in Christus Jesus, der uns geworden ist Weisheit von Gott, Gerechtigkeit und Heiligung und Erlösung,
31 that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
damit es sei wie geschrieben steht: Wer sich rühmet, rühme sich des Herrn.
