Acts 19
1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper country, came to Ephesus and found certain disciples.
Nahitabo kini samtang si Apolos anaa sa Corinto, miagi si Pablo sa ibabaw sa kabungtoran ug miabot siya sa siyudad sa Efeso, ug nakaplagan ang pipila sa mga disipulo didto.
2 He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They said to him, “No, we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Miingon si Pablo kanila, “Nadawat ba ninyo ang Balaang Espiritu sa dihang mituo kamo?” Miingon sila kaniya, “Wala, wala man gani kami makadungog mahitungod sa Balaang Espiritu.”
3 He said, “Into what then were you baptised?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Miingon si Pablo, “Ngadto sa unsa man nga kamo nagpabawtismo?” Miingon sila, “Ngadto sa pagbawtismo ni Juan.”
4 Paul said, “John indeed baptised with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Christ Jesus.”
Busa si Pablo mitubag, “Si Juan mobawtismo inubanan ang pagbawtismo sa paghinulsol. Gisultihan niya ang mga tawo nga kinahanglan motuo sila sa usa kong kinsa ang bout moabot human kaniya, mao kana, si Jesus.”
5 When they heard this, they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Sa dihang ang mga tawo nakadungog niini, gibawtismohan sila sa ngalan ni Ginoong Jesus.
6 When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied.
Unya sa dihang gitapion ni Pablo ang iyang mga kamot kanila, ang Balaang Espiritu mikunsad kanila ug nagsulti sila ug nagkalain-laing mga pinulongan ug nanagna.
7 They were about twelve men in all.
Ang tanan mga napulo ug duha ka mga lalaki.
8 He entered into the synagogue and spoke boldly for a period of three months, reasoning and persuading about the things concerning God’s Kingdom.
Miadto si Pablo sa sinagoga ug nagsulti nga walay kahadlok sulod sa tulo ka bulan. Nangulo siya sa mga panaghisgot ug nagdani sa mga tawo mahitungod sa mga butang nga may kalabutan sa gingharian sa Dios.
9 But when some were hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
Apan sa dihang ang pipila ka mga Judio nagmagahi ug nagmasinupakon, nagsugod sila sa pagsulti ug daotan nga pamaagi mahitungod kang Cristo didto sa panon sa katawhan, busa si Pablo mibiya kanila, ug gidala ang mga magtutuo palayo gikan kanila. Siya nagsugod sa pagsulti kada adlaw didto sa hawanang tudloanan sa Tirano.
10 This continued for two years, so that all those who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
Kini nagpadayon sulod sa duha ka tuig, aron ang tanang tawo nga namuyo sa Asia makadungog sa pulong sa Ginoo, ang mga Judio ug Griyego.
11 God worked special miracles by the hands of Paul,
Ang Dios naghimo ug mga gamhanang buhat pinaagi sa mga kamot ni Pablo,
12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out.
aron bisan pa ang naay sakit maulian, ug ang mga daotan nga espritu mogawas sa mga tawo, sa pagkuha nila sa mga panyo ug mga tapis gikan sa lawas ni Pablo.
13 But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, “We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.”
Apan adunay mga Judio nga espiritista nga nagbiyahe sa maong lugara nga nagdala sa ngalan ni Jesus alang sa ilang kaugalingong pagamit. Sila nakigsulti niadtong adunay daotang mga espiritu; sila miingon, “Ako nagmando kanimo pinaagi kang Jesus nga gisangyaw ni Pablo nga mobiya.”
14 There were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did this.
Kadtong naghimo niini mao ang pito ka anak nga mga lalaki sa pangulong pari sa mga Judio, Esceva.
15 The evil spirit answered, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?”
Ang daotang espiritu mitubag kanila, “Nakaila ako kang Jesus, ug nakaila ako kang Pablo; apan kinsa man kamo?”
16 The man in whom the evil spirit was leapt on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Ang daotang espiritu naa sa tawo milukso sa Espiritista ug nalupig sila ug gikulata sila. Unya nanghawa sila pagawas sa balay nga hubo ug samaran.
17 This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived at Ephesus. Fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Kini nahibal-an sa tanan, sa mga Judio ug mga Griyego, nga namuyo sa Efeso. Sila nangahadlok kaayo, ug ang ngalan ni Ginoong Jesus napasidunggan.
18 Many also of those who had believed came, confessing and declaring their deeds.
Daghan usab sa mga magtutuo miabot ug nagsugid ug miangkon sa mga daotang mga butang nga ilang nahimo.
19 Many of those who practised magical arts brought their books together and burnt them in the sight of all. They counted their price, and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver.
Daghan ang nagbansay ug mga salamangka ug nagdala sa ilang mga basahon ug gisunog sa panan-aw sa matag-usa. Sa dihang ilang giihap ang bili niini, kini mga 50, 000 kadaghanon sa plata.
20 So the word of the Lord was growing and becoming mighty.

21 Now after these things had ended, Paul determined in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”
Karon sa natapos na ni Pablo ang iyang pagpangalagad sa Efeso, nakahukom siya diha sa Espiritu nga moagi sa Macedonia ug Acaya sa iyang dalan ngadto sa Jerusalem; siya miingon, “Pagkahuman nako ug adto didto, kinahanglan usab nako makita ang Roma.”
22 Having sent into Macedonia two of those who served him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.
Gipadala ni Pablo sa Macedonia ang duha niya ka mga disipulo, si Timoteo ug si Erastus, nga nitabang kaniya. Apan siya nagpabilin makadiyot sa Asya.
23 About that time there arose no small disturbance concerning the Way.
Ug nianang taknaa mitumaw ang dakong kasamok sa Efeso mahitungod sa Dalan.
24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought no little business to the craftsmen,
Ang usa ka platero nga ginganlan ug Demetrius, nga naghimo ug plata nga istatuwa ni Diana, nagdala sa dakong negosyo alang sa mga magbubuhat.
25 whom he gathered together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, “Sirs, you know that by this business we have our wealth.
Busa gitigom niya ang mga trabahante sa maong panginabuhi ug miingon, “Mga sir, nakabalo kamo nga kini nga negosyo nakapahimo kanato ug daghan nga kuwarta.
26 You see and hear that not at Ephesus alone, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are no gods that are made with hands.
Kamo nakakita ug nakadungog niana, dili lamang sa Efeso, apan halos tibuok Asya, kini si Pablo nagdani ug nagpalayo sa daghang mga tawo. Siya nagaingon nga walay mga dios nga hinimo sa mga kamot.
27 Not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be counted as nothing and her majesty destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worships.”
Ug dili lamang ang kakuyaw nga ang atong mga negosyo dili na kinahanglanon, apan bisan pa ang templo sa bantogang diosa nga si Diana mahimong kining walay pulos. Unya siya mawad-an na sa iyang kadungganan, siya nga gisimba sa tanan sa Asya ug sa tibuok kalibotan.”
28 When they heard this they were filled with anger, and cried out, saying, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”
Sa dihang nadungog nila kini napuno sila sa kasuko ug misinggit sa kusog, sa pag-ingon, “Bantogan si Diana sa mga taga-Efeso.”
29 The whole city was filled with confusion, and they rushed with one accord into the theatre, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel.
Ang tibuok siyudad napuno sa kalibog, ug ang mga tawo nagdali-dali ug adto sa tiyatro. Gidakop nila ang mga kauban ni Pablo sa pagbiyahe, nga si Gaius ug si Aristarchus, nga miabot gikan sa Macedonia.
30 When Paul wanted to enter in to the people, the disciples didn’t allow him.
Si Pablo bout mosulod taliwala sa panon sa katawhan, apan ang mga disipulo nagpugong kaniya.
31 Certain also of the Asiarchs, being his friends, sent to him and begged him not to venture into the theatre.
Usab, pipila ka mga pangulo nga higala ni Pablo nagpadala sa pulong ug naghangyo kaniya nga dili mosulod sa tiyatro.
32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another, for the assembly was in confusion. Most of them didn’t know why they had come together.
Pipila ka mga tawo naninggit sa usa ka butang, ug ang pipila lahi, kay ang pundok sa katawhan anaa sa kalibog. Kasagaran kanila wala gani nasayod nganong nagtigom sila.
33 They brought Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. Alexander beckoned with his hand, and would have made a defence to the people.
Gidala sa mga Judio si Alexander pagawas gikan sa pundok sa katawhan ug gibutang siya atubangan sa mga tawo. Misinyas si Alexander sa iyang kamot aron maghimo ug usa ka pamahayag sa mga tawo.
34 But when they perceived that he was a Jew, all with one voice for a time of about two hours cried out, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”
Apan sa dihang nakaamgo sila nga siya usa ka Judio, silang tanan naninggit sa usa ka tingog nga hapit miabot sa duha ka oras, “Bantogan si Diana sa mga taga Efeso.”
35 When the town clerk had quieted the multitude, he said, “You men of Ephesus, what man is there who doesn’t know that the city of the Ephesians is temple keeper of the great goddess Artemis, and of the image which fell down from Zeus?
Sa dihang gipahilom sa tigdumala sa lungsod ang pundok sa katawhan, siya miingon, “Kamo mga tawo sa Efeso, unsa nga tawo didto ang wala masayod nga ang siyudad sa mga taga-Efeso mao ang magbalantay sa templo sa bantogang Diana ug sa mga larawan nga nahulog gikan sa langit?
36 Seeing then that these things can’t be denied, you ought to be quiet and to do nothing rash.
Sa pagkakita nga kining mga butanga dili ikalimod, kamo kinahanglan nga maghilom ug dili maghimo sa pagpangagpas.
37 For you have brought these men here, who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of your goddess.
Kay inyong gidala kining mga tawhana dinhi sa korte nga dili man gani mga kawatan sa templo ni tigpasipala sa atong diosa.
38 If therefore Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a matter against anyone, the courts are open and there are proconsuls. Let them press charges against one another.
Busa, kung si Demetrius ug ang mga mananalsal uban kaniya adunay mga sumbong batok ni bisan kinsa, abre ang mga hukmanan ug adunay mga gobernador. Tugoti sila nga magpasangil sa usag-usa.
39 But if you seek anything about other matters, it will be settled in the regular assembly.
Apan kung mangita kamo sa bisan unsang mga butang mahitungod sa laing mga butang, kinahanglan kini mahusay sa kasagaran nga panagtigom.
40 For indeed we are in danger of being accused concerning today’s riot, there being no cause. Concerning it, we wouldn’t be able to give an account of this commotion.”
Kay sa pagkatinuod kita anaa sa kakuyaw mahitungod sa kagubot niining adlawa. Walay hinungdan alang niining kagubot, ug dili kita makahimo sa pagpahayag niini.”
41 When he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
Sa dihang nasulti na niya kini, gitapos niya ang panagtigom.
