Psalms 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Aquelle que habita no esconderijo do Altissimo, á sombra do Omnipotente descançará.

2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Direi do Senhor: Elle é o meu Deus, o meu refugio, a minha fortaleza, e n'elle confiarei.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.

Porque elle te livrará do laço do passarinheiro, e da peste perniciosa.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler.

Elle te cobrirá com as suas pennas, e debaixo das suas azas te confiarás: a sua verdade será o teu escudo e rodella.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;

Não terás medo do terror de noite nem da setta que vôa de dia,

6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noon-day.

Nem da peste que anda na escuridão, nem da mortandade que assola ao meio-dia.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.

Mil cairão ao teu lado, e dez mil á tua direita, mas não chegará a ti.

8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Sómente com os teus olhos contemplarás, e verás a recompensa dos impios.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD [who is] my refuge, [even] the Most High, thy habitation;

Porque tu, ó Senhor, és o meu refugio: no Altissimo fizeste a tua habitação.

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Nenhum mal te succederá, nem praga alguma chegará á tua tenda.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Porque aos seus anjos dará ordem a teu respeito para te guardarem em todos os teus caminhos.

12 They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Elles te sustentarão nas suas mãos, para que não tropeces com o teu pé em pedra.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Pisarás o leão e a cobra; calcarás aos pés o filho do leão e o dragão.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

Porquanto tão encarecidamente me amou, tambem eu o livrarei; pôl-o-hei em retiro alto, porque conheceu o meu nome.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

Elle me invocará, e eu lhe responderei; estarei com elle na angustia; d'ella o retirarei, e o glorificarei.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

Fartal-o-hei com longura de dias, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.
