Psalms 36

1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, [that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.

Prestopek zlobnega znotraj mojega srca pravi, da pred njegovimi očmi ni Božjega strahu.

2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity is found to be hateful.

Kajti v svojih lastnih očeh si laska, dokler se ne najde njegova krivičnost, da je vreden sovraštva.

3 The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit: he hath ceased to be wise, [and] to do good.

Besede iz njegovih ust so krivičnost in prevara. Prenehal je biti moder in delati dobro.

4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.

Na svoji postelji snuje vragolijo, postavlja se na pot, ki ni dobra, zla ne prezira.

5 Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] to the clouds.

Tvoje usmiljenje, oh Gospod, je v nebesih; in tvoja zvestoba sega do oblakov.

6 Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.

Tvoja pravičnost je podobna velikim goram, tvoje sodbe so zelo globokoumne. Oh Gospod, ti ohranjaš človeka in žival.

7 How excellent [is] thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Kako odlična je tvoja ljubeča skrbnost, oh Bog! Zato človeški otroci svoje trdno upanje polagajo pod senco tvojih peruti.

8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

Obilno bodo nasičeni z obiljem tvoje hiše in primoral jih boš piti iz reke svojih radosti.

9 For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Kajti s teboj je studenec življenja, v tvoji svetlobi bomo videli svetlobo.

10 O continue thy loving-kindness to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Oh nadaljuj svoje ljubeče skrbnosti tem, ki te poznajo, in svojo pravičnost do iskrenih v srcu.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

Naj proti meni ne pride stopalo ponosnega in naj me roka zlobnega ne odstrani.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

Tam so padli delavci krivičnosti. Podrti so in ne bodo mogli vstati.
