Psalms 36

1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, [that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.

A prevaricação do impio diz no intimo do seu coração: Não ha temor de Deus perante os seus olhos.

2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity is found to be hateful.

Porque em seus olhos se lisongeia, até que a sua iniquidade se descubra ser detestavel.

3 The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit: he hath ceased to be wise, [and] to do good.

As palavras da sua bocca são malicia e engano: deixou de entender e de fazer o bem.

4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.

Projecta a malicia na sua cama; põe-se no caminho que não é bom: não aborrece o mal

5 Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] to the clouds.

A tua misericordia, Senhor, está nos céus, e a tua fidelidade chega até ás mais excelsas nuvens.

6 Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.

A tua justiça é como as grandes montanhas; os teus juizos são um grande abysmo; Senhor, tu conservas os homens e os animaes.

7 How excellent [is] thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Quão preciosa é, ó Deus, a tua benignidade, pelo que os filhos dos homens se abrigam á sombra das tuas azas.

8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

Elles se fartarão da gordura da tua casa, e os farás beber da corrente das tuas delicias;

9 For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Porque em ti está o manancial da vida; na tua luz veremos a luz.

10 O continue thy loving-kindness to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Estende a tua benignidade sobre os que te conhecem, e a tua justiça sobre os rectos de coração.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

Não venha sobre mim o pé dos soberbos, e não me mova a mão dos impios.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

Ali caem os que obram a iniquidade; cairão, e não se poderão levantar.
