Psalms 33

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: [for] praise is comely for the upright.

Regozijae-vos no Senhor, vós, justos, pois aos rectos convem o louvor.

2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing to him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings.

Louvae ao Senhor com harpa, cantae a elle com psalterio de dez cordas.

3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.

Cantae-lhe um cantico novo: tocae bem e com jubilo.

4 For the word of the LORD [is] right; and all his works [are done] in truth.

Porque a palavra do Senhor é recta, e todas as suas obras são fieis.

5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

Elle ama a justiça e o juizo: a terra está cheia da bondade do Senhor.

6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e todo o exercito d'elles pelo espirito da sua bocca.

7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in store-houses.

Elle ajunta as aguas do mar como n'um montão; põe os abysmos em thesouros.

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

Tema toda a terra ao Senhor; temam-n'o todos os moradores do mundo.

9 For he spoke, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Porque fallou, e foi feito: mandou, e logo appareceu.

10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: he maketh the devices of the people of no effect.

O Senhor desfaz o conselho das nações, quebranta os intentos dos povos.

11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

O conselho do Senhor permanece para sempre: os intentos do seu coração de geração em geração.

12 Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD; [and] the people [whom] he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Bemaventurada é a nação cujo Deus é o Senhor, e o povo ao qual escolheu para sua herança.

13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

O Senhor olha desde os céus e está vendo a todos os filhos dos homens.

14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

Do logar da sua habitação contempla todos os moradores da terra,

15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

Aquelle que forma o coração de todos elles, que contempla todas as suas obras.

16 There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

Não ha rei que se salve com a grandeza d'um exercito, nem o homem valente se livra pela muita força.

17 A horse [is] a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver [any] by his great strength.

O cavallo é fallaz para a segurança: não livra ninguem com a sua grande força.

18 Behold, the eye of the LORD [is] upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Eis que os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua misericordia;

19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

Para lhes livrar as almas da morte, e para os conservar vivos na fome.

20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he [is] our help and our shield.

A nossa alma espera no Senhor: elle é o nosso auxilio e o nosso escudo.

21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Pois n'elle se alegra o nosso coração; porquanto temos confiado no seu sancto nome.

22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Seja a tua misericordia, Senhor, sobre nós, como em ti esperamos.
