< Psalms 109 >

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻeku fakamālō, ʻoua naʻa ke fakalongo pē;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
He kuo mafaʻa ʻae ngutu ʻoe angahala mo e ngutu ʻoe kākā kiate au: kuo nau lea kovi kiate au ʻaki ʻae ʻelelo loi.
3 They encompassed me also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.
Naʻa nau kāpui foki au ʻaki ʻae ngaahi lea ʻoe taufehiʻa; mo nau tauʻi au taʻehanoʻuhinga.
4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I [give myself to] prayer.
Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻeku ʻofa kuo hoko ʻakinautolu ko hoku ngaahi fili: ka te u hangahanga lotu pe au.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
Pea kuo nau totongi ʻaki kiate au ʻae kovi ki he lelei, mo e fehiʻa ki heʻeku ʻofa.
6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
Ke ke fakanofo ʻae tangata angakovi ke pule kiate ia: pea tuku ke tuʻu ʻa Sētane ʻi hono nima toʻomataʻu.
7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
‌ʻOka fakamaau ia, tuku ke halaia ia pea tuku ke hoko ʻene lotu ko e angahala.
8 Let his days be few; [and] let another take his office.
Tuku ke siʻi pē hono ngaahi ʻaho; pea ke maʻu ʻe ha taha kehe ʻene ngāue.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Tuku ke tamai mate ʻene fānau, pea hoko ʻa hono uaifi ko e fefine kuo mate hono husepāniti.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek [their bread] also out of their desolate places.
Tuku ke ne maʻuaipē ʻene fānau, mo kole: pea tuku kenau kumi foki ʻenau mā mei honau ngaahi potu ʻoku lala.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let strangers spoil his labor.
Tuku ke maʻu ʻe he fakamālohi ʻae meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ʻaʻana; pea maumauʻi ʻe he kau muli ʻene ngāue.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy to him: neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.
‌ʻOua naʻa tuku ha taha ke manavaʻofa kiate ia: pea ʻoua naʻa tuku ha taha ke ʻofa ki heʻene fānau ʻoku tamai mate.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; [and] in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
Tuku ke tuʻusi hono hako; pea ʻi he toʻutangata ʻe haʻu tuku ke tāmateʻi honau hingoa.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
Ke manatuʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae hia ʻa ʻene ngaahi tamai; pea ʻoua naʻa tāmateʻi ʻae angahala ʻa ʻene faʻē.
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
Tuku maʻuaipē ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, koeʻuhi ke ne tuʻusi honau fakamanatuʻi mei māmani.
16 Because that he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
Koeʻuhi naʻe ʻikai manatuʻi ʻe ia ke fakahā ʻae ʻofa, ka naʻa ne fakatanga ʻae tangata masiva mo paea, koeʻuhi ke ne tāmateʻi ʻaia ʻoku mafesi hono loto.
17 As he loved cursing, so let it come to him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻene ʻofa ki he kapekape, ko ia ke hoko ia kiate ia: ko e meʻa ʻi heʻene taʻefiefia ʻi he tāpuaki, ko ia ke mamaʻo ia ʻiate ia.
18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻene fakakofuʻaki ia ʻae kape ʻo hangē ko e kofu, ko ia ke hoko ia ki hono kete ʻo hangē ko e vai, pea hangē ko e lolo ki hono ngaahi hui.
19 Let it be to him as the garment [which] covereth him, and for a girdle with which he is girded continually.
Ke tatau ia kiate ia mo e kofu ʻaia ʻoku ʻufiʻufi ʻaki ia, pea mo e noʻo ʻaia ʻoku nonoʻo ʻaki maʻuaipē ia.
20 [Let] this [be] the reward of my adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
Tuku eni ko e totongi ki hoku ngaahi fili meia Sihova, pea kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau lea ʻaki ʻae kovi ki hoku laumālie.
21 But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy [is] good, deliver thou me.
Ka ke fai ʻe koe maʻaku, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻEiki, koeʻuhi ko ho huafa: koeʻuhi ʻoku lelei hoʻo ʻaloʻofa, ke ke fakamoʻui au.
22 For I [am] poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
He ʻoku ou masiva mo paea, pea kuo lavea hoku loto ʻiate au.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.
Kuo u mole atu ʻo hangē ko e ʻata ʻoka fakaʻaʻau ke ʻosi ia: kuo feʻaveʻaki au ʻo hangē ko e fanga heʻe.
24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
‌ʻOku vaivai hoku tui ʻi he ʻaukai: pea kuo mole ʻae sino ʻo hoku kakano.
25 I became also a reproach to them: [when] they looked upon me they shook their heads.
Ne u hoko foki ko e manukiʻanga kiate kinautolu: ʻi heʻenau sio mai kiate au, naʻa nau kalokalo honau ʻulu.
26 Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:
Tokoniʻi au, ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua: ke ke fakamoʻui au ʻo hangē ko hoʻo ʻaloʻofa:
27 That they may know that this [is] thy hand; [that] thou, LORD, hast done it.
Koeʻuhi ke nau ʻilo ko ho nima eni; pea ko koe, ʻE Sihova, kuo ke fai ia.
28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.
Tuku kenau kape, ka ke fakamonūʻia ʻe koe: ʻoka nau ka tuʻu hake, tuku ke nau mā; kae tuku ke fiefia ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeiki.
29 Let my adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.
Tuku ke kofu ʻa hoku ngaahi fili ʻaki ʻae mā, pea tuku kenau ʻufiʻufi ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻa ʻenau puputuʻu, ʻo hangē ko e pulupulu.
30 I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yes, I will praise him among the multitude.
Te u fakamālō lahi kia Sihova ʻaki hoku ngutu; ʻio, te u fakamālō kiate ia ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe tokolahi.
31 For he will stand at the right hand of the poor, to save [him] from those that condemn his soul.
Koeʻuhi ʻe tuʻu ia ʻi he nima toʻomataʻu ʻoe masiva, ke fakamoʻui ia meiate kinautolu ʻoku nau fakahalaia hono laumālie.
