Psalms 10
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? [why] hidest thou [thyself] in times of trouble?
Porque estás ao longe, Senhor? Porque te escondes nos tempos de angustia?
2 The wicked in [his] pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
Os impios na sua arrogancia perseguem furiosamente o miseravel; sejam apanhados nas ciladas que machinaram.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, [whom] the LORD abhorreth.
Porque o impio gloria-se do desejo da sua alma; bemdiz ao avarento, e blasphema do Senhor.
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek [after God]: God [is] not in all his thoughts.
Pela altivez do seu rosto o impio não busca a Deus: todas as suas cogitações são que não ha Deus
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments [are] far above out of his sight: [as for] all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
Os seus caminhos atormentam sempre: os teus juizos estão longe da vista d'elle em grande altura, e despreza aos seus inimigos.
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for [I shall] never [be] in adversity.
Diz em seu coração: Não serei commovido, porque nunca me verei na adversidade.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue [is] mischief and vanity.
A sua bocca está cheia d'inprecações, d'enganos e d'astucia; debaixo da sua lingua ha molestia e maldade.
8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
Põe-se nas emboscadas das aldeias; nos logares occultos mata ao innocente; os seus olhos estão occultamente fitos contra o pobre.
9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
Arma ciladas no esconderijo, como o leão no seu covil; arma ciladas para roubar ao miseravel; rouba ao miseravel, trazendo-o na sua rede.
10 He croucheth, [and] humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
Encolhe-se, abaixa-se, para que os pobres caiam em suas fortes garras.
11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see [it].
Diz em seu coração: Deus esqueceu-se, cobriu o seu rosto, e nunca o verá.
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the humble.
Levanta-te, Senhor: oh! Deus, levanta a tua mão; não te esqueças dos miseraveis.
13 Why doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it].
Porque blasphema o impio de Deus? dizendo no seu coração: Tu não o esquadrinharás?
14 Thou hast seen [it]; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite [it] with thy hand: the poor committeth himself to thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
Tu o viste, porque attentas para o trabalho e enfado, para o entregar em tuas mãos; a ti o pobre se encommenda, tu és o auxilio do orphão.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil [man]: seek out his wickedness [till] thou shalt find none.
Quebra o braço do impio e malvado; busca a sua impiedade, até que nenhuma encontres.
16 The LORD [is] King for ever and ever: the heathen have perished out of his land.
O Senhor é Rei eterno; da sua terra perecerão os gentios.
17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thy ear to hear:
Senhor, tu ouviste os desejos dos mansos; confortarás os seus corações; os teus ouvidos estarão abertos para elles;
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
Para fazer justiça ao orphão e ao opprimido, afim de que o homem da terra não prosiga mais em usar da violencia.
