Matthew 27
1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death.
൧പ്രഭാതം ആയപ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും എല്ലാം യേശുവിനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഗൂഢാലോചന കഴിച്ചു,
2 And when they had bound him, they led [him] away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
൨അവനെ ബന്ധിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി നാടുവാഴിയായ പീലാത്തൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.
3 Then Judas, who had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
൩അവനെ ശിക്ഷയ്ക്ക് വിധിച്ചു എന്നു അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത യൂദാ കണ്ട് അനുതപിച്ചു, ആ മുപ്പത് വെള്ളിക്കാശ് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കൽ മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു:
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that].
൪ഞാൻ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തത്തെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തതിനാൽ പാപംചെയ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അത് ഞങ്ങൾക്കു എന്ത്? നീ തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊൾക എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
൫അവൻ ആ വെള്ളിക്കാശ് മന്ദിരത്തിലേക്ക് എറിഞ്ഞിട്ട്, വേറിട്ടു ചെന്ന് കെട്ടിഞാന്നു ചത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.
6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
൬മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാർ ആ വെള്ളിക്കാശ് എടുത്തു: ഇതു രക്തവിലയാകയാൽ ഖജനാവിൽ ഇടുന്നത് വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചു,
7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
൭പരദേശികളെ കുഴിച്ചിടുവാൻ അതുകൊണ്ട് കുശവന്റെ നിലം വാങ്ങി.
8 Wherefore that field has been called, The field of blood, to this day.
൮ആകയാൽ ആ നിലത്തിന് ഇന്നുവരെ രക്തനിലം എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു.
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
൯“യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ വിലമതിച്ചവന്റെ വിലയായ മുപ്പത് വെള്ളിക്കാശ് അവർ എടുത്തു,
10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.
൧൦കർത്താവ് എന്നോട് നിർദ്ദേശിച്ചതുപോലെ കുശവന്റെ നിലത്തിന് വേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു” എന്നു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതിന് അന്ന് നിവൃത്തിവന്നു.
11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, Thou sayest.
൧൧എന്നാൽ യേശു നാടുവാഴിയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു; നീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവോ എന്നു നാടുവാഴി ചോദിച്ചു; ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നു യേശു അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു
12 And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
൧൨മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുകയിൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല.
13 Then saith Pilate to him, Hearest thou not how many things they testify against thee?
൧൩പീലാത്തോസ് അവനോട്: ഇവർ നിനക്ക് വിരോധമായി എന്തെല്ലാം കുറ്റാരോപണം പറയുന്നു എന്നു നീ കേൾക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
14 And he answered him to not a word; so that the governor marveled greatly.
൧൪അവൻ ഒരു വാക്കിനും ഉത്തരം പറയായ്കയാൽ നാടുവാഴി അത്യന്തം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
15 Now at [that] feast, the governor was wont to release to the people a prisoner, whom they would.
൧൫എന്നാൽ ഉത്സവസമയത്ത് പുരുഷാരം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരു തടവുകാരനെ നാടുവാഴി വിട്ടയയ്ക്ക പതിവായിരുന്നു.
16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
൧൬അന്ന് ബറബ്ബാസ് എന്ന കുപ്രസിദ്ധനായൊരു തടവുകാരൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
17 Therefore when they were assembled, Pilate said to them, Whom will ye that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?
൧൭അവർ ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിവന്നപ്പോൾ പീലാത്തോസ് അവരോട്: ബറബ്ബാസിനെയോ, ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പറയുന്ന യേശുവിനെയോ, ആരെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വിട്ടുതരണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
18 (For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.)
൧൮അവർ അസൂയകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവനെ ഏല്പിച്ചത് എന്നു അവൻ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.
19 When he was sitting on the judgment-seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream, because of him.
൧൯അവൻ ന്യായാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ ആളയച്ച്: ആ നീതിമാന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഇടപെടരുത്; അവൻ നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ ഇന്ന് സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ വളരെ കഷ്ടം സഹിച്ചു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
൨൦എന്നാൽ ബറബ്ബാസിനെ ചോദിപ്പാനും യേശുവിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പുരുഷാരത്തെ വശീകരിച്ചു.
21 The governor answered and said to them, Which of the two will ye that I release to you? They said, Barabbas.
൨൧നാടുവാഴി അവരോട്: ഈ ഇരുവരിൽ ആരെ വിട്ടുതരണമെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന് ബറബ്ബാസിനെ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
22 Pilate saith to them, What shall I do then with Jesus, who is called Christ? [They] all say to him, Let him be crucified.
൨൨പീലാത്തോസ് അവരോട്: എന്നാൽ ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന യേശുവിനെ എന്ത് ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്: അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണം എന്നു എല്ലാവരും പറഞ്ഞു.
23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
൨൩അവൻ ചെയ്ത അതിക്രമം എന്ത് എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു. അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണം എന്നു അവർ ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but [that] rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed [his] hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye [to it].
൨൪ലഹള അധികമാകുന്നതല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു പീലാത്തോസ് കണ്ടിട്ട് വെള്ളം എടുത്തു പുരുഷാരത്തിന് മുൻപാകെ കൈ കഴുകി: ഈ കളങ്കമില്ലാത്തവന്റെ രക്തത്തിൽ ഞാൻ കളങ്കരഹിതൻ; നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood [be] on us, and on our children.
൨൫അവന്റെ രക്തം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളുടെമേലും വരട്ടെ എന്നു ജനം ഒക്കെയും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
26 Then he released Barabbas to them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered [him] to be crucified.
൨൬അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ബറബ്ബാസിനെ അവർക്ക് വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു, യേശുവിനെ ചമ്മട്ടി കൊണ്ടടിപ്പിച്ച് ക്രൂശിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഏല്പിച്ചു.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered to him the whole band [of soldiers].
൨൭അനന്തരം നാടുവാഴിയുടെ പടയാളികൾ യേശുവിനെ നടുത്തളത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി പട്ടാളത്തെ എല്ലാം അവന്റെനേരെ വരുത്തി,
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
൨൮അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം അഴിച്ച് ഒരു ചുവന്ന മേലങ്കി ധരിപ്പിച്ചു,
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put [it] upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews?
൨൯മുള്ളുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു കിരീടം മെടഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ തലയിൽ വെച്ച്, വലങ്കയ്യിൽ ഒരു കോലും കൊടുത്തു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ മുട്ടുകുത്തി: യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and struck him on the head.
൩൦പിന്നെ അവന്റെമേൽ തുപ്പി, കോൽ എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയിൽ അടിച്ചു.
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify [him].
൩൧അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചുതീർന്നപ്പോൾ മേലങ്കി നീക്കി അവന്റെ സ്വന്തവസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ച്, ക്രൂശിപ്പാൻ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they constrained to bear his cross.
൩൨അവർ പോകുമ്പോൾ ശിമോൻ എന്നു പേരുള്ള കുറേനക്കാരനെ കണ്ട്, അവന്റെ ക്രൂശ് ചുമപ്പാൻ നിര്‍ബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു.
33 And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
൩൩തലയോടിടം എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ഗൊല്ഗോഥാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവന് കയ്പ് കലർത്തിയ വീഞ്ഞ് കുടിക്കുവാൻ കൊടുത്തു;
34 They gave him vinegar to drink, mingled with gall: and when he had tasted [of it], he would not drink.
൩൪അത് രുചിനോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അവന് കുടിക്കുവാൻ മനസ്സായില്ല.
35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture they cast lots.
൩൫അവനെ ക്രൂശിൽ തറച്ചശേഷം അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം പകുത്തെടുക്കുവാനായി പടയാളികൾ ചീട്ടിട്ടു,
36 And sitting down, they watched him there:
൩൬അവിടെ ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ട് അവനെ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു.
37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
൩൭യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവായ യേശു എന്നു അവന്റെ കുറ്റസംഗതി എഴുതി അവന്റെ തലയ്ക്കുമീതെ വെച്ച്.
38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him: one on the right hand, and another on the left.
൩൮വലത്തും ഇടത്തുമായി രണ്ടു കള്ളന്മാരെയും അവനോട് കൂടെ ക്രൂശിച്ചു.
39 And they that passed by, reviled him, wagging their heads,
൩൯കടന്നു പോകുന്നവർ തലകുലുക്കി അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു:
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days, save thyself. If thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.
൪൦മന്ദിരം പൊളിച്ച് മൂന്നുനാൾകൊണ്ടു പണിയുന്നവനേ, നിന്നെത്തന്നെ രക്ഷിയ്ക്ക; ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ക്രൂശിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking [him], with the scribes and elders, said,
൪൧അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പരിഹസിച്ചു:
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he is King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
൪൨ഇവൻ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു, തന്നെത്താൻ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ലയോ; ഇവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവ് ആകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ ക്രൂശിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവരട്ടെ; അപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ ഇവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാം.
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
൪൩ഇവൻ ദൈവത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന് ഇവനിൽ പ്രസാദമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ വിടുവിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാൻ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എന്നു ഇവൻ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
44 The thieves also who were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
൪൪അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിച്ചിരുന്ന കള്ളന്മാരും അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു.
45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land to the ninth hour.
൪൫ആറാംമണി നേരംമുതൽ ഒമ്പതാംമണി നേരംവരെ ദേശത്തു എല്ലാം ഇരുട്ടുണ്ടായി.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
൪൬ഏകദേശം ഒമ്പതാംമണി നേരത്ത് യേശു: ഏലീ, ഏലീ, ലമ്മാ ശബക്താനി എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു; എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ കൈവിട്ടത് എന്ത് എന്നർത്ഥം.
47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard [that], said, This [man] calleth for Elijah.
൪൭അവിടെ നിന്നിരുന്നവരിൽ ചിലർ അത് കേട്ടിട്ട്; അവൻ ഏലിയാവെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
48 And immediately one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink.
൪൮ഉടനെ അവരിൽ ഒരുവൻ ഓടി ഒരു സ്പോങ്ങ് എടുത്തു പുളിച്ച വീഞ്ഞ് നിറച്ച് ഓടത്തണ്ടിന്മേൽ ആക്കി അവന് കുടിക്കുവാൻ കൊടുത്തു.
49 The rest said, Forbear, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.
൪൯ശേഷമുള്ളവർ: അവനെ തനിയെ വിടുക; ഏലിയാവ് അവനെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ വരുമോ എന്നു നോക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, expired.
൫൦യേശു പിന്നെയും അത്യുച്ചത്തിൽ നിലവിളിച്ചു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.
51 And behold, the vail of the temple was rent in two, from the top to the bottom: and the earth shook, and the rocks rent;
൫൧അപ്പോൾ മന്ദിരത്തിലെ തിരശ്ശീല മേൽതൊട്ട് അടിയോളവും രണ്ടായി ചീന്തിപ്പോയി;
52 And the graves were opened, and many bodies of saints who slept, arose,
൫൨ഭൂമി കുലുങ്ങി, പാറകൾ പിളർന്നു, കല്ലറകൾ തുറന്നു, നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ ശരീരങ്ങൾ പലതും ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റ്
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many.
൫൩അവന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെശേഷം കല്ലറകളെ വിട്ടു, വിശുദ്ധനഗരത്തിൽ ചെന്ന് പലർക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
൫൪ശതാധിപനും അവനോടുകൂടെ യേശുവിനെ കാത്തുനിന്നവരും ഭൂകമ്പം മുതലായവ സംഭവിച്ചത് കണ്ടിട്ട്: അവൻ ദൈവപുത്രൻ ആയിരുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.
55 And many women were there (beholding at a distance) who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him:
൫൫ഗലീലയിൽ നിന്നു യേശുവിനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അനുഗമിച്ചുവന്ന പല സ്ത്രീകളും ദൂരത്തുനിന്ന് നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
56 Among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.
൫൬അവരിൽ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും യാക്കോബ് യോസഫ് എന്നിവരുടെ അമ്മയായ മറിയയും സെബെദിപുത്രന്മാരുടെ അമ്മയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
57 When the evening was come, there came a rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, who also himself was a disciple of Jesus.
൫൭സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോൾ യേശുവിന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരുന്ന അരിമത്ഥ്യക്കാരനായ യോസഫ് എന്ന പേരുള്ള ധനവാൻ വന്നു,
58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
൫൮പീലാത്തോസിനെ സമീപിച്ചു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു; പീലാത്തോസ് അത് കൊടുക്കുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
൫൯യോസഫ് ശരീരം എടുത്തു വൃത്തിയുള്ള ചണശീലയിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞു,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed.
൬൦താൻ പാറയിൽ വെട്ടിച്ചിരുന്ന തന്റെ സ്വന്തമായ പുതിയ കല്ലറയിൽ വെച്ച് കല്ലറയുടെ വാതിൽക്കൽ ഒരു വലിയ കല്ല് ഉരുട്ടിവച്ചിട്ടുപോയി.
61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulcher.
൬൧കല്ലറയ്ക്ക് എതിരെ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും മറ്റെ മറിയയും ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.
62 Now the next day that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together to Pilate,
൬൨ഒരുക്കനാളിന്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും പീലാത്തൊസിനോടൊപ്പം വന്നുകൂടി:
63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
൬൩യജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങൾ ഓർക്കുന്നു ആ ചതിയൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ: മൂന്നുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് ഞാൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞത്.
64 Command therefore that the sepulcher be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error will be worse than the first.
൬൪അതുകൊണ്ട് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ചെന്ന് അവനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ട്, അവൻ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പറകയും ഒടുവിലത്തെ ചതിവ് മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വിഷമമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് മൂന്നാം നാൾവരെ കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
65 Pilate said to them, Ye have a watch: go, make [it] as secure as ye can.
൬൫പീലാത്തോസ് അവരോട്: കാവൽക്കൂട്ടത്തെ തരാം; പോയി നിങ്ങളാൽ കഴിയുന്നിടത്തോളം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
66 So they went, and having sealed the stone, made the sepulcher secure with a watch.
൬൬അവർ ചെന്ന് കല്ലിന് മുദ്രവെച്ചു കാവൽക്കൂട്ടത്തെ നിർത്തി കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കി.
