Jeremiah 9
1 Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
Wer gäbe, daß mein Haupt Wasser werde, und mein Auge ein Born der Tränen, daß ich bei Tag und Nacht beweinete die Erschlagenen der Tochter meines Volkes!
2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging-place of way-faring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they [are] all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
Wer gibt Mir in der Wüste eine Herberge der Reisenden, so verließe Ich Mein Volk und ginge von ihnen; denn sie alle sind Ehebrecher, eine Rotte von Treulosen.
3 And they bend their tongues [like] their bow [for] lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
Und sie spannen ihre Zungen als ihren Bogen der Lüge, und nicht für Wahrheit sind mächtig sie im Lande; denn von Bösem gehen sie auf Böses aus, und Mich kennen sie nicht, spricht Jehovah.
4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbor, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will walk with slanders.
Der Mann hüte sich vor seinem Genossen, und vertraue auf keinen Bruder; denn jeder Bruder überlistet und jeder Genosse geht als Zwischenträger um.
5 And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, [and] weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Und der Mann hintergeht seinen Genossen, und Wahrheit reden sie nicht. Sie lehren ihre Zunge Lüge reden. Sie mühen sich ab, verkehrt zu handeln.
6 Thy habitation [is] in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.
Du wohnst mitten unter Trug. Vor Trug weigern sie sich, Mich zu erkennen, spricht Jehovah.
7 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?
Darum spricht also Jehovah der Heerscharen: Siehe, läutern und prüfen will Ich sie. Denn was sollte Ich tun vor der Tochter Meines Volkes?
8 Their tongue [is as] an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: [one] speaketh peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Ein geschärfter Pfeil ist ihre Zunge. Trug redet sie. Mit seinem Munde redet er Frieden mit dem Genossen, und in seinem Inneren legt er ihm einen Hinterhalt.
9 Shall I not visit them for these [things]? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Sollte über solchem Ich sie nicht heimsuchen? spricht Jehovah. Sollte an einer Völkerschaft wie diese nicht Meine Seele Rache nehmen?
10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through [them]; neither can [men] hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast have fled; they are gone.
Über die Berge will Ich ein Weinen erheben und ein Trauerlied, und über der Wüste Auen ein Klagelied. Denn sie sind versengt, so daß kein Mann vorübergeht, und man nicht hört die Stimme der Viehherde. Sie sind entflohen, hingegangen, vom Gevögel der Himmel bis zum Vieh.
11 And I will make Jerusalem heaps, [and] a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
Und Ich gebe Jerusalem dahin, zum Trümmerhaufen, zur Wohnstätte der Drachen und die Städte Jehudahs gebe Ich zur Verwüstung ohne Bewohner.
12 Who [is] the wise man that may understand this? and [who is he] to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth [and] is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
Wer ist der weise Mann, daß er dies einsehe und zu dem Jehovahs Mund geredet, daß er es ansage? Weshalb wird dieses Land zerstört, versengt wie die Wüste, daß niemand durchgeht?
13 And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
Und Jehovah spricht: Darum, daß sie verlassen Mein Gesetz, das Ich vor sie gegeben, und auf Meine Stimme nicht gehört und nicht danach gewandelt haben;
14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
Und gingen der Verstocktheit ihrer Herzen nach und nach den Baalen, wie ihre Väter sie gelehrt hatten.
15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, [even] this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
Darum, so spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, siehe, Ich lasse dieses Volk Wermut essen und tränke sie mit Wasser der Galle.
16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.
Und zerstreue sie unter die Völkerschaften, die weder sie selbst noch ihre Väter kannten, und sende ihnen das Schwert nach, bis Ich sie aufgerieben.
17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for skillful [women], that they may come:
So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Merket auf und ruft den Klageweibern, daß sie kommen, und sendet nach den weisen Frauen, daß sie kommen.
18 And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
Daß sie eilen und über uns das Trauerlied erheben, und Tränen von unseren Augen herabrinnen, und Wasser von unseren Wim- pern riesle.
19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we laid waste! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast [us] out.
Denn aus Zijon hört man des Trauerliedes Stimme: Wie sind wir verheert, wir sind beschämt sehr. Denn wir verlassen das Land, denn niedergeworfen sind unsere Wohnungen.
20 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbor lamentation.
Ja, höret, ihr Weiber, Jehovahs Wort, und Seines Mundes Wort nehmet zu Ohr, und lehret eure Töchter das Trauerlied und das Weib die Genossin das Klagelied.
21 For death hath come up into our windows, [and] hath entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, [and] the young men from the streets.
Denn zu unseren Fenstern steigt herauf der Tod, er kommt in unsere Paläste, auszurotten das Kindlein aus der Gasse, die Jünglinge aus der Straße.
22 Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcasses of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvest-man, and none shall gather [them].
Rede: So spricht Jehovah: Wie Dünger fällt des Menschen Leichnam auf des Feldes Angesicht und wie die Garbe hinter dem Schnitter, und keiner sammelt sie.
23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches:
So spricht Jehovah: Nicht rühme der Weise sich seiner Weisheit und nicht rühme der Mächtige sich seiner Macht; nicht rühme der Reiche sich seines Reichtums.
24 But let him that glorieth, glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD who exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.
Sondern wer sich rühmen will, der rühme sich, daß er verständig ist und Mich kennt, daß Ich Jehovah bin, Welcher tut Barmherzigkeit, Recht und Gerechtigkeit auf Erden; denn daran habe Ich Lust, spricht Jehovah.
25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all [them who are] circumcised with the uncircumcised;
Siehe, es kommen Tage, spricht Jehovah, daß Ich an allen die Beschneidung in der Vorhaut heimsuche.
26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all [that are] in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all [these] nations [are] uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel [are] uncircumcised in the heart.
An Ägypten und an Jehudah und an Edom, und an den Söhnen Ammons und an Moab und an allen, welche die Ecke stutzen, die in der Wüste wohnen; denn alle die Heiden sind unbeschnitten und das ganze Haus Israels ist unbeschnittenen Herzens.
