Isaiah 46
1 Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your loads [were] heavy; [they were] a burden to the weary [beast].
Já Bel abatido está, já Nebo se encurvou, os seus idolos são postos sobre os animaes e sobre as bestas: as cargas dos vossos fardos são canceira para as bestas já cançadas.
2 They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves have gone into captivity.
Juntamente se encurvaram e se abateram; não poderam escapar da carga, mas a sua alma entrou em captiveiro.
3 Hearken to me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne [by me] from the birth, which are carried from the womb:
Ouvi-me, ó casa de Jacob, e todo o residuo da casa de Israel; vós a quem trouxe nos braços desde o ventre, e levei desde a madre.
4 And [even] to [your] old age I [am] he; and [even] to hoary hairs will I carry [you]: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver [you].
E até á velhice eu serei o mesmo, e ainda até ás cãs eu vos trarei: eu o fiz, e eu vos levarei, e eu vos trarei, e vos guardarei.
5 To whom will ye liken me, and make [me] equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
A quem me fareis similhante, e com quem me egualareis, e me comparareis, para que sejamos similhantes?
6 They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, [and] hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yes, they worship.
Gastam o oiro da bolsa, e pesam a prata com as balanças: alugam o ourives, e d'aquillo faz um deus, e diante d'elle se prostram e se inclinam.
7 They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yes, [one] shall cry to him, yet he cannot answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
Sobre os hombros o tomam, o levam, e o põem no seu logar; ali está em pé, do seu logar não se move: e, se alguem clama a elle, resposta nenhuma dá, nem o livra da sua tribulação.
8 Remember this, and show yourselves men: bring [it] again to mind, O ye transgressors.
Lembrae-vos d'isto, e tende animo: reconduzi-o ao coração, ó prevaricadores.
9 Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; I [am] God, and [there is] none like me,
Lembrae-vos das coisas passadas desde a antiguidade: que eu sou Deus, e não ha outro Deus, não ha outro similhante a mim;
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Que annuncio o fim desde o principio, e desde a antiguidade as coisas que ainda não succederam; que digo: O meu conselho será firme, e farei toda a minha vontade;
11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yes, I have spoken [it], I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed [it], I will also perform it.
Que chamo a ave de rapina desde o oriente, e o homem do meu conselho desde terras remotas; porque assim o disse, e assim o farei vir; eu o formei, e tambem o farei.
12 Hearken to me, ye stout-hearted, that [are] far from righteousness:
Ouvi-me, ó duros de coração, os que estaes longe da justiça.
13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not delay: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
Faço chegar a minha justiça, e não estará ao longe, e a minha salvação não tardará: mas estabelecerei em Sião a salvação, e em Israel a minha gloria.
