Hebrews 1

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

第一款 キリストは大いに天使等に優り給ふ 神は昔預言者等を以て、幾度にも幾様にも先祖等に語り給ひしに、

2 Hath in these last days spoken to us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (aiōn g165)

此末の日に至り、曾て萬物の世嗣に立て、又之によりて世を造り給ひたる御子を以て、我等に語り給へり。 (aiōn g165)

3 Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

彼は神の光榮の輝、其本體の印章に在して、己が権能の言を以て、萬物を保ち、罪の潔を為し給ひて、天に於て稜威の右に坐し給ふなり。

4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

彼が天使等に優る者と成り給へるは、猶其受け給ひし御名の彼等に優れるが如し。

5 For to which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

蓋神曾て天使等の敦れに斯は曰ひしぞ、[曰く]、「汝は我子なり、我今日汝を生めり」と、又「我彼に父たり彼我に子たらん」と。

6 And again, when he bringeth in the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

又冢子を更に世に入れ給ひし時に曰く、「神の天使皆之を禮拝すべし」、と。

7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

而して天使等に就きては、「彼風を其使者と為し、焔を其の役者となし給ふ」と言へるに、

8 But to the Son, [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness [is] the scepter of thy kingdom. (aiōn g165)

御子に就きては、「神よ、汝の玉座は世々に在り、汝の王位の笏は義の笏なり、 (aiōn g165)

9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

汝正義を愛し不義を憎めり、故に汝の神たる神は、喜の油を汝が同輩に優りて汝に注ぎ給へり、」と言ふ。

10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the works of thy hands.

又曰く、「主よ、汝初に地を据置き給へり、而して諸の天も御手の業なり、

11 They shall perish; but thou remainest: and they all shall become old as doth a garment;

是等は亡びん、然れど汝は永存し給ひ、是等は皆衣服の如く古びん。

12 And as a vesture wilt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

汝之を上衣の如く畳み給はんに、是等は變るべしと雖も、汝は同じきものにして變る事なく、汝の齢終なかるべし」と。

13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool?

然るに曾て天使等の敦れに向ひてか、「我汝の敵を汝の足台と成らしむるまで我右に坐せよ」、と曰ひし事ある、

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall inherit salvation?

天使は悉く役者と成る霊にして、救霊の世嗣を受くべき人々の為に役者として遣はさるるに非ずや。
