Genesis 18
1 And the LORD appeared to him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
೧ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಬಿಸಿಲೇರಿದಾಗ ಮಮ್ರೆಯ ಮೋರೆ ತೋಪಿನ ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದನು.
2 And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw [them], he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
೨ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಲು ಅವನೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವರು ಪುರುಷರು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗಿ ತಲೆಬಾಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ.
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
೩“ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರೆತಿದ್ದರೆ; ದಾಸನ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ದಯಮಾಡದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನೀವು ದಾಸನಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ.
4 Let a little water, I pray you, be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
೪ನೀರು ತರಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮರದ ನೆರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
5 And I will bring a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that you shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
೫ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಆಹಾರ ತರುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಊಟವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಅವರು, “ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು” ಅಂದರು.
6 And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead [it], and make cakes upon the hearth.
೬ಆಗ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಾರಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಹಸನಾದ ಮೂರು ಸೇರು ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ನಾದಿ ಬೇಗ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 And Abraham ran to the herd, and brought a calf tender and good, and gave [it] to a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
೭ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನು ದನಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಎಳೇ ಕರುವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಆಳಿನ ಕೈಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set [it] before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they ate.
೮ಆಳು ಬೇಗನೆ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಕರುವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು, ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಹಾಲು ಮೊಸರನ್ನೂ ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಬಡಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಊಟ ಮಾಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಅವನು ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
9 And they said to him, Where [is] Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
೯ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಸಾರಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು “ಅಗೋ, ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ” ಎಂದನು.
10 And he said, I will certainly return to thee according to the time of life; and lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard [it] in the tent door, which [was] behind him.
೧೦ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು, “ಬರುವ ವರ್ಷ ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪದೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿರುವನು” ಎಂದನು. ಆ ಮಾತು ಹಿಂದೆ ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಸಾರಳ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah [were] old [and] far advanced in age; [and] it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
೧೧ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೂ ಸಾರಳೂ ಬಹುವೃದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದರು; ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟು ನಿಂತು ಹೋಗಿತ್ತು.
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am become old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
೧೨ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಸಾರಳು, “ನನ್ನಂಥ ಮುದುಕಿಗೆ ಭೋಗವಾದೀತೇ?” ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನೂ ಮುದುಕನಲ್ಲವೇ ಎಂದು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ನಕ್ಕಳು.
13 And the LORD said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I certainly bear a child, who am old?
೧೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ, “ಸಾರಳು ನಕ್ಕು, ಮುದುಕಿಯಾದ, ನಾನು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆರುವುದಾದೀತೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನು?
14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return to thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
೧೪ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದದ್ದುಂಟೋ? ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಬರುವ ವರ್ಷದ ಇದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿರುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
೧೫ಆಗ ಸಾರಳು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, “ನಾನು ನಗಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಆತನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ನಕ್ಕಿದ್ದುಂಟು” ಎಂದನು.
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
೧೬ತರುವಾಯ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರು. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡಲು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹೋದನು.
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
೧೭ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡುವುದು ಸರಿಯೋ?
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
೧೮ಅವನಿಂದ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ಮಹಾ ಜನಾಂಗವು ಹುಟ್ಟಬೇಕಲ್ಲಾ; ಅವನ ಮೂಲಕ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದಲ್ಲಾ;
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they will keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
೧೯ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ನೀತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆನಲ್ಲಾ; ಅವನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವು ನೆರವೇರುವುದು” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
೨೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಗೊಮೋರಗಳ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೊರೆ ನನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು; ಆ ಊರಿನವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸಿರುವ ಪಾಪವು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಘೋರವಾದದ್ದು,
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come to me; and if not, I will know.
೨೧ನಾನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ, ನನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೊರೆಯಂತೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿರುವರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ನೋಡಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went towards Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
೨೨ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
೨೩ಆಗ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, “ನೀನು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ?
24 Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that [are] in it?
೨೪ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿದ್ದಾರು; ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸದೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ?
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
೨೫ಆ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೂ ಶಿಷ್ಟರಿಗೂ ಭೇದ ಮಾಡದೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನೂ ಸಂಹರಿಸುವುದು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಆಗಬಾರದು; ಸರ್ವಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವವನು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನೇ ನಡಿಸುವನಲ್ಲವೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು.
26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
೨೬ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಸೊದೋಮನಲ್ಲಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉಳಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದನು.
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I, who [am] dust and ashes, have taken upon me to speak to the LORD.
೨೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, “ಇಗೋ, ಮಣ್ಣೂ ಬೂದಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ನಾನು ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ವಾದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ;
28 Peradventure there will lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for [lack of] five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy [it].
೨೮ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೈದು ಮಂದಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
29 And he spoke to him yet again, and said, Peradventure there will be forty found there. And he said, I will not do [it] for forty's sake.
೨೯ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದನು.
30 And he said, Oh, let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there will thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do [it], if I find thirty there.
೩೦ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕೋಪಮಾಡಬಾರದು; ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak to the LORD: Peradventure there will be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy [it] for twenty's sake.
೩೧ಅವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವೆನು, ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
32 And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten will be found there. And he said, I will not destroy [it] for ten's sake.
೩೨ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಸಿಟ್ಟಾಗಬಾರದು; ಇನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾರು” ಎನ್ನಲು ಆತನು, “ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವೆನು, ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.” ಎಂದನು.
33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned to his place.
೩೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು; ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
