Ezekiel 10

1 Then I looked, and behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubim there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

Et je vis, et voici que sur le firmament qui était au-dessus de la tête des Chérubins, il y avait comme une pierre de saphir; quelque chose paraissant ressembler à un trône apparut au-dessus d'eux.

2 And he spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, [even] under the cherub, and fill thy hand with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter [them] over the city. And he entered in my sight.

Et il dit à l'homme vêtu de lin: " Va dans les intervalles des roues, sous les Chérubins; remplis tes mains de charbons ardents pris d'entre les Chérubins, et répands-les sur la ville. " Et il y alla devant mes yeux.

3 Now the cherubim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.

Or les Chérubins se tenaient à droite de la maison quand l'homme y alla, et la nuée remplit le parvis intérieur.

4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, [and stood] over the threshhold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD'S glory.

Et la gloire de Yahweh s'éleva de dessus les Chérubins et vint sur le seuil de la maison; la maison fut remplie de la nuée, et le parvis était plein de l'éclat de la gloire de Yahweh.

5 And the sound of the cherubim's wings was heard [even] to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.

Le bruit des ailes des Chérubins se fit entendre jusqu'au parvis extérieur, comme la voix du Dieu tout-puissant quand il parle.

6 And it came to pass, [that] when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubim; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.

Quand il eut donné cet ordre à l'homme vêtu de lin: " Prends du feu dans l'intervalle des roues, entre les Chérubins, " l'homme vint se tenir à côté des roues.

7 And [one] cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubim, to the fire that [was] between the cherubim, and took [of it], and put [it] into the hands of [him that was] clothed with linen: who took [it], and went out.

Et le Chérubin avança la main entre les Chérubins, vers le feu qui était entre les Chérubins; il en prit et le mit dans les mains de l'homme vêtu de lin, qui le prit et sortit.

8 And there appeared in the cherubim the form of a man's hand under their wings.

Or on voyait aux Chérubins une forme de main d'homme sous leurs ailes.

9 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubim, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels [was] as the color of a beryl stone.

Et je vis, et voici quatre roues auprès des Chérubins, une roue à côté de chaque Chérubin, et l'aspect des roues était comme celui de la pierre de Tharsis.

10 And [as for] their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.

Et quant à leur aspect, toutes quatre étaient semblables, comme si une roue était au milieu d'une autre roue.

11 When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked, they followed it; they turned not as they went.

En avançant, elles allaient sur leurs quatre côtés, et ne se retournaient pas dans leur marche; car vers le lieu où se tournait la tête elles allaient, et elles ne se retournaient pas dans leur marche.

12 And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, [were] full of eyes on every side, [even] the wheels that they four had.

Et tout le corps des Chérubins, leur dos, leurs mains et leurs ailes, ainsi que les roues, étaient remplies d'yeux tout autour; tous les quatre avaient leurs roues.

13 As for the wheels, it was cried to them in my hearing, O wheel.

Quant aux roues, on les appelait " agiles. "

14 And every one had four faces: the first face [was] the face of a cherub, and the second face [was] the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

Chacun des Chérubins avait quatre faces: la face du premier était la face de chérubin; la face du second était une face d'homme; celle du troisième, une face de taureau, et celle du quatrième, une face d'aigle.

15 And the cherubim were lifted up. This [is] the living creature that I saw by the river of Kebar.

Et les chérubins s'élevèrent; c'était l'être vivant que j'avais vu au fleuve Chobar.

16 And when the cherubim went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.

Quand les Chérubins allaient, les roues allaient aussi à côté d'eux; et quand les Chérubins dressaient leurs ailes pour s'élever de terre, les roues ne se détournaient pas, elles non plus, d'à côté d'eux.

17 When they stood, [these] stood; and when they were lifted up, [these] lifted up themselves [also]: for the spirit of the living creature [was] in them.

Quand ils s'arrêtaient, elles s'arrêtaient; quand ils s'élevaient, elles s'élevaient avec eux; car l'Esprit de l'être vivant était en elles.

18 Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshhold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

La gloire de Yahweh se retira de dessus le seuil de la maison et s'arrêta sur les Chérubins.

19 And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also [were] beside them, and [every one] stood at the door of the east-gate of the LORD'S house; and the glory of the God of Israel [was] over them above.

Les Chérubins dressèrent leurs ailes et s'élevèrent de terre à mes yeux, quand ils partirent et les roues avec eux. Ils s'arrêtèrent à l'entrée de la porte orientale de la maison de Yahweh; et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël reposait sur eux par-dessus.

20 This [is] the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Kebar; and I knew that they [were] the cherubim.

C'était l'être vivant que j'avais vu au-dessous du Dieu d'Israël, au fleuve Chobar; et je sus que c'étaient des Chérubins.

21 Every one had four faces each, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man [was] under their wings.

Chacun avait quatre faces et chacun avait quatre ailes, et une ressemblance de mains d'hommes était sous leurs ailes.

22 And the likeness of their faces [was] the same faces which I saw by the river of Kebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.

Et quant à la ressemblance de leurs faces, c'étaient les faces que j'avais vues près du fleuve Chobar; c'était le même aspect, c'étaient eux-mêmes. Chacun allait droit devant soi.
