Acts 27
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to [one] named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
൧ഞങ്ങൾ കപ്പൽ കയറി ഇതല്യയ്ക്ക് പോകേണം എന്ന് കല്പനയായപ്പോൾ പൗലൊസിനെയും മറ്റ് ചില തടവുകാരെയും ഔഗുസ്ത്യപട്ടാളത്തിലെ ശതാധിപനായ യൂലിയൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we lanched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia, [one] Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
൨അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങൾ ആസ്യക്കര പറ്റി ഓടുവാനുള്ള ഒരു അദ്രമുത്ത്യകപ്പലിൽ കയറി നീക്കി; തെസ്സലോനിക്യയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മക്കെദോന്യക്കാരനായ അരിസ്തർഹൊസും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
3 And the next [day] we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously treated Paul, and gave [him] liberty to go to his friends to refresh himself.
൩പിറ്റേന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ സീദോനിൽ എത്തി; യൂലിയൊസ് പൗലൊസിനോട് ദയ കാണിച്ചു, സ്നേഹിതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി സൽക്കാരം കൈക്കൊൾവാൻ അനുവദിച്ചു.
4 And when we had lanched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
൪അവിടെനിന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ കപ്പൽ നീക്കി, കാറ്റ് പ്രതികൂലമാകയാൽ കാറ്റിന്റെ മറയുള്ള കുപ്രൊസ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ അരികത്തുകൂടി ഓടി;
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Mira, [a city] of Lycia.
൫കിലിക്യ പംഫുല്യ കടൽവഴിയായി ചെന്ന് ലുക്കിയയിലെ മുറാപ്പട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തി.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
൬അവിടെ ശതാധിപൻ ഇതല്യയ്ക്ക് പോകുന്ന ഒരു അലെക്സന്ത്രിയക്കപ്പൽ കണ്ട് ഞങ്ങളെ അതിൽ കയറ്റി.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce had come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone:
൭പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ വളരെദിവസം പതുക്കെ ഓടി, ക്നീദൊസിന് സമീപത്ത് പ്രയാസത്തോടെ എത്തി, കാറ്റ് പ്രതികൂലമാകയാൽ ക്രേത്തദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ശല്മോനയ്ക്ക് എതിരെ ഓടി,
8 And hardly passing it, came to a place which is called, The fair havens; nigh to which was the city [of] Lasea.
൮പ്രയാസത്തോടെ കരപറ്റി ലസയ്യപട്ടണത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്ത് ശുഭതുറമുഖം എന്നു പേരുള്ള സ്ഥലത്ത് എത്തി.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished [them].
൯ഇങ്ങനെ വളരെനാൾ ചെന്നശേഷം യഹൂദന്മാരുടെ നോമ്പുകാലവും കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ കപ്പലോട്ടം അപകടകരമാകകൊണ്ട് പൗലൊസ്:
10 And said to them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
൧൦“പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഈ യാത്രയിൽ ചരക്കിനും കപ്പലിനും മാത്രമല്ല നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണങ്ങൾക്കും ഏറിയ കഷ്ടനഷ്ടങ്ങൾ വരും എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു” എന്ന് അവർക്ക് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകി.
11 Nevertheless, the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship more than the things which were spoken by Paul.
൧൧ശതാധിപനോ പൗലൊസ് പറഞ്ഞതിനേക്കാൾ കപ്പിത്താന്റെയും കപ്പലുടമസ്ഥന്റെയും വാക്ക് അധികം വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the greater part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, [and there] to winter; [which is] a haven of Crete, and lieth towards the south-west and north-west.
൧൨ആ തുറമുഖം ശീതകാലം കഴിക്കുവാൻ നല്ലതല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവിടെനിന്ന് നീക്കി തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായും വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായും തുറന്നുകിടക്കുന്ന ഫൊയ്നീക്യ എന്ന ക്രേത്തതുറമുഖത്ത് കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ ചെന്ന് ശീതകാലം കഴിക്കണം എന്ന് മിക്കപേരും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained [their] purpose, loosing [thence], they sailed close by Crete.
൧൩തെക്കൻ കാറ്റ് മന്ദമായി ഊതുകയാൽ, വിചാരിച്ചതുപോലെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാം എന്ന് തോന്നി, അവർ അവിടെനിന്ന് നങ്കൂരം എടുത്ത് ക്രേത്തദ്വീപിന്റെ തീരംചേർന്ന് ഓടി.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
൧൪എന്നാൽ കുറച്ച് കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അതിനുനേരേ ദ്വീപിൽനിന്ന് വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ എന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് അടിക്കുവാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let [her] drive.
൧൫കപ്പലിന് കാറ്റിന്റെ നേരെ നില്പാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം കുടുങ്ങുകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ കാറ്റിന് വഴങ്ങി അതിന്റെ വഴിക്കുതന്നെ പോയി.
16 And running under a certain isle which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
൧൬ക്ലൌദ എന്ന ചെറിയ ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഓടീട്ട് പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തോണി കൈവശമാക്കി.
17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, struck sail, and so were driven.
൧൭അത് വലിച്ചുകയറ്റിയിട്ട് അവർ കപ്പലിന്റെ വശത്തോട് ചുറ്റിക്കെട്ടിയും മറ്റും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തി; പിന്നെ മണൽത്തിട്ടമേൽ അകപ്പെടും എന്നു പേടിച്ചു പായ് ഇറക്കി, അങ്ങനെ കാറ്റിന്റെ ദിശയ്ക്ക് നീക്കി.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next [day] they lightened the ship;
൧൮ഞങ്ങൾ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിനാൽ അത്യന്തം അലയുകകൊണ്ട് പിറ്റേന്ന് അവർ ചരക്ക് പുറത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.
19 And the third [day] we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
൧൯മൂന്നാം നാൾ അവർ സ്വന്തകയ്യാൽ കപ്പൽകോപ്പും കടലിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on [us], all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
൨൦വളരെ നാളായിട്ട് സൂര്യനെയോ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയോ കാണാതെയും വല്ലാത്ത കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് അടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും ഇരിക്കയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ രക്ഷപെടും എന്നുള്ള ആശ ഒക്കെയും അറ്റുപോയി.
21 But after long abstinence, Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened to me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
൨൧അവർ വളരെ പട്ടിണി കിടന്നശേഷം പൗലോസ് അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “പുരുഷന്മാരേ, എന്റെ വാക്ക് അനുസരിച്ചു ക്രേത്തയിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കാതെയും ഈ കഷ്ടനഷ്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of life among you, but of the ship.
൨൨എങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോൾ ധൈര്യത്തോടിരിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; കപ്പലിന് അല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരുടെയും പ്രാണന് ഹാനി വരികയില്ല.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
൨൩എന്റെ ഉടയവനും ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുവരുന്നവനുമായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതൻ കഴിഞ്ഞ രാത്രിയിൽ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന്:
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cesar: and lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
൨൪‘പൗലൊസേ, ഭയപ്പെടരുത്; നീ കൈസരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; നിന്നോടുകൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നിനക്ക് ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it will be even as it was told to me.
൨൫അതുകൊണ്ട് പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ധൈര്യത്തോടിരിപ്പിൻ; എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
26 But we must be cast upon a certain isle.
൨൬എങ്കിലും നാം ഒരു ദ്വീപിന്മേൽ മുട്ടി വീഴേണ്ടതാകുന്നു”.
27 When the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen suspected that they drew near to some country:
൨൭പതിനാലാം രാത്രിയായപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ അദ്രിയക്കടലിൽ അലയുന്നേരം അർദ്ധരാത്രിയിൽ ഒരു കരയ്ക്ക് സമീപിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് കപ്പൽക്കാർക്ക് തോന്നി.
28 And sounded, and found [it] twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found [it] fifteen fathoms.
൨൮അവർ ഈയം ഇട്ട് ഇരുപത് മാറെന്ന് കണ്ട്; കുറച്ച് അപ്പുറം പോയിട്ട് വീണ്ടും ഈയം ഇട്ട് പതിനഞ്ച് മാറെന്ന് കണ്ട്.
29 Then fearing lest we should fall upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
൨൯പാറ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഇടിക്കുമോ എന്നു പേടിച്ച് അവർ അമരത്തുനിന്ന് നാല് നങ്കൂരം ഇട്ട്, വേഗം നേരം വെളുപ്പാൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under color as though they would cast anchors out of the foreship,
൩൦എന്നാൽ കപ്പൽക്കാർ കപ്പൽ വിട്ട് ഓടിപ്പോകുവാൻ വിചാരിച്ച് അണിയത്തുനിന്ന് നങ്കൂരം ഇടുവാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നുള്ള ഭാവത്തിൽ തോണി കടലിൽ ഇറക്കി.
31 Paul said to the centurion, and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
൩൧അപ്പോൾ പൗലൊസ് ശതാധിപനോടും പടയാളികളോടും: “ഇവർ കപ്പലിൽ താമസിച്ചല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് രക്ഷപെടുവാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
൩൨പടയാളികൾ തോണിയുടെ കയറ് അറുത്ത് അത് വീഴിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought [them] all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried, and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
൩൩നേരം വെളുക്കാറായപ്പോൾ പൗലൊസ് എല്ലാവരോടും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു: “നിങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിക്കാതെ കാത്തുകൊണ്ട് പട്ടിണി കിടക്കുന്നത് ഇന്ന് പതിനാലാം ദിവസം ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take [some] food; for this is for your health: for there shall not a hair fall from the head of any of you.
൩൪അതുകൊണ്ട് ആഹാരം കഴിക്കണം എന്ന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; അത് നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷയ്ക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ; നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുവന്റെയും തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമംപോലും നഷ്ടമാകയില്ല നിശ്ചയം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all; and when he had broken [it], he began to eat.
൩൫ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ട് അപ്പം എടുത്ത് എല്ലാവരും കാൺകെ ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിയിട്ട് നുറുക്കി തിന്നുതുടങ്ങി.
36 Then they were all of good cheer, and they also took food.
൩൬അപ്പോൾ എല്ലാവരും ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ട് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred and seventy six souls.
൩൭കപ്പലിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ആകപ്പാടെ ഇരുനൂറ്റെഴുപത്താറ് ആൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast the wheat into the sea.
൩൮അവർ തിന്ന് തൃപ്തിവന്നശേഷം ധാന്യം കടലിൽ കളഞ്ഞ് കപ്പലിന്റെ ഭാരം കുറച്ച്.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into which they purposed, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
൩൯വെളിച്ചമായപ്പോൾ ഇന്ന ദേശം എന്ന് അവർ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല എങ്കിലും കരയുള്ളൊരു തുറ കണ്ട്, കഴിയും എങ്കിൽ കപ്പൽ അതിലേക്ക് ഓടിക്കേണം എന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed [themselves] to the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted the mainsail to the wind, and made towards the shore.
൪൦നങ്കൂരം അറുത്ത് കടലിൽ വിട്ട് ചുക്കാന്റെ കെട്ടും അഴിച്ച് പെരുമ്പായ് കാറ്റുമുഖമായി ഉയർത്തിക്കെട്ടി കരയ്ക്ക് നേരെ ഓടി.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained immovable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
൪൧ഇരുകടൽ കൂടിയൊരു സ്ഥലത്തിന്മേൽ ചെന്ന് കയറുകയാൽ കപ്പൽ അടിഞ്ഞ്, അണിയം ഉറച്ച് ഇളക്കമില്ലാതെയായി; അമരം തിരയുടെ ശക്തിയാൽ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയി.
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
൪൨തടവുകാരിൽ ആരും നീന്തി ഓടിപ്പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവരെ കൊല്ലേണം എന്ന് പടയാളികൾ ആലോചിച്ചു.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from [their] purpose, and commanded that they who could swim, should cast [themselves] first [into the sea], and get to land:
൪൩ശതാധിപനോ പൗലൊസിനെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ട് അവരുടെ ആലോചനയെ തടുത്തു, നീന്തുവാൻ കഴിയുന്നവർ ആദ്യം ചാടി കരയ്ക്ക് പറ്റുവാനും
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on [broken pieces] of the ship: And so it came to pass, that they all escaped safe to land.
൪൪ശേഷമുള്ളവർ പലകമേലും കപ്പലിന്റെ ഖണ്ഡങ്ങളുടെ മേലുമായി എത്തുവാനും കല്പിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ എല്ലാവരും സുരക്ഷിതരായി കരയിൽ എത്തി.
