Acts 24

1 And after five days, Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and [with] a certain orator [named] Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

൧അഞ്ചുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ അനന്യാസ് മൂപ്പന്മാരോടും തെർത്തുല്ലൊസ് എന്ന വാക്ചാതുര്യം ഉള്ള ഒരുവനോടും കൂടിവന്നു, പൗലൊസിന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള അന്യായം ദേശാധിപതിയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse [him], saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done to this nation by thy providence,

൨പൗലൊസിനെ വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തിയതിന് ശേഷം തെർത്തുല്ലൊസ് അന്യായം വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

3 We accept [it] always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

൩“ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ശ്രീ ഫേലിക്സേ, നിന്റെ പരിപാലനത്താൽ ഈ ജാതിയ്ക്ക് ഏറിയ ഗുണങ്ങൾ സാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും വളരെ സമാധാനം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നതും ഞങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴും എല്ലായിടത്തും പൂർണ്ണനന്ദിയോടുംകൂടെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു.

4 Notwithstanding, that I may not be further tedious to thee, I pray thee, that thou wouldst of thy clemency hear us a few words.

൪എങ്കിലും നിന്നെ അധികം അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തരുത് എന്നുവച്ച് ക്ഷമയോടെ സംക്ഷിപ്തമായി ഞങ്ങളുടെ അന്യായം കേൾക്കണം എന്ന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

5 For we have found this a pestilent man, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ring-leader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

൫ഈ പുരുഷൻ ഒരു ഉപദ്രവകാരിയും ലോകത്തിലുള്ള സകല യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെയും ഇടയിൽ കലഹമുണ്ടാക്കുവാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും നസറായമതത്തിന് തലവനും എന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

൬അവൻ ദൈവാലയം അശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങൾ അവനെ പിടിച്ച് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം വിസ്തരിപ്പാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

7 But the chief captain Lysias came and with great violence took [him] out of our hands,

൭എങ്കിലും സഹസ്രാധിപനായ ലുസിയാസ് വന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്ന് വളരെ ബലത്തോടുകൂടെ അവനെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി,

8 Commanding his accusers to come to thee: by examining whom, thou thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things of which we accuse him.

൮അവനുവേണ്ടി വാദിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു നീ തന്നേ അവനെ വിസ്തരിച്ചാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അന്യായം ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകല സംഗതികളും സത്യം എന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവാൻ ഇടയാകും”.

9 And the Jews also assented, saying, that these things were so.

൯അത് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ എന്ന് യെഹൂദന്മാരും യോജിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

10 Then Paul, after the governor had beckoned to him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been for many years a judge to this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

൧൦സംസാരിക്കാം എന്ന് ദേശാധിപതി ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടിയപ്പോൾ പൗലൊസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഈ യഹൂദജാതികൾക്ക് നീ അനേകസംവത്സരമായി ന്യായാധിപതി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അറിയുകകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രതിവാദം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11 That thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship.

൧൧ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ആരാധിപ്പാൻ പോയിട്ട് പന്ത്രണ്ട് നാളിൽ അധികമായില്ല എന്ന് നിനക്ക് അറിയാകുന്നുവല്ലോ.

12 And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither exciting the people to sedition, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

൧൨യെരൂശലേം ദൈവാലയത്തിലോ യഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളികളിലോ നഗരങ്ങളിലോ വച്ച് ആരോടെങ്കിലും വാദിക്കുകയോ പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നവനായി അവർ ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

13 Neither can they prove the things of which they now accuse me.

൧൩ഇന്ന് എന്റെ നേരെ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അന്യായം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ തെളിയിപ്പാൻ അവർക്ക് കഴിയുന്നതുമല്ല.

14 But this I confess to thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

൧൪എന്നാൽ ഒന്ന് ഞാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു: മതഭേദം എന്ന് ഇവർ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ മാർഗ്ഗപ്രകാരം ഞാൻ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിക്കുകയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

15 And have hope towards God, which they themselves also allow, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

൧൫നീതിമാന്മാരുടെയും നീതികെട്ടവരുടെയും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്ന് ഇവർ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാനും ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽ ആശവച്ച് ഉറച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16 And in this I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense towards God, and [towards] men.

൧൬അതുകൊണ്ട് എനിക്ക് ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യരോടും കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത മനസ്സാക്ഷി എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.

17 Now after many years, I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

൧൭പലസംവത്സരം കൂടീട്ട് ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജാതിക്കാർക്ക് സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായം കൊണ്ടുവരുവാനും വഴിപാട് കഴിക്കുവാനും വന്നു.

18 Upon which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

൧൮അത് അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ എന്നെ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽവച്ച് ശുദ്ധീകരണം കഴിഞ്ഞവനായി കണ്ട്; പുരുഷാരത്തോടോ കലഹത്തോടോ കൂടിയല്ല.

19 Who ought to have been here before thee, and object if they had aught against me.

൧൯എന്നാൽ ആസ്യക്കാരായ ചില യെഹൂദന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർക്ക് എന്റെ നേരെ അന്യായം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വന്ന് ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.

20 Or else let these same [here] say, if they have found any evil-doing in me, while I stood before the council,

൨൦അല്ല, ഞാൻ ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ ‘മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വിസ്തരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്ന് ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞൊരു വാക്കല്ലാതെ

21 Except it is for this one voice, that I cried, standing among them, Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

൨൧അവിടെവച്ച് എന്റെ പക്കൽ വല്ല കുറ്റവും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഇവർ തന്നെ പറയട്ടെ”.

22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of [that] way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

൨൨ഫേലിക്സിന് ഈ മാർഗ്ഗം സംബന്ധിച്ച് സൂക്ഷ്മമായ അറിവ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും: “ലുസിയാസ് സഹസ്രാധിപൻ വരുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യം തീർച്ചപ്പെടുത്തും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവധിവച്ച്,

23 And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let [him] have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister, or come to him.

൨൩ശതാധിപനോട് അവനെ തടവിൽത്തന്നെ സൂക്ഷിച്ച് ദയകാണിപ്പാനും അവന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ അവന് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നത് വിരോധിക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും കല്പിച്ചു.

24 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

൨൪കുറേനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് ഫേലിക്സ് യെഹൂദ സ്ത്രീയായ തന്റെ ഭാര്യ ദ്രുസില്ലയുമായി വന്ന്, പൗലൊസിനോട് സംസാരിക്കേണ്ടതിനായി അവനെ വരുത്തി ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അവന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ട്.

25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, depart for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

൨൫എന്നാൽ അവൻ നീതി, ഇന്ദ്രിയജയം, വരുവാനുള്ള ന്യായവിധി എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ച് സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഫേലിക്സ് ഭയപരവശനായി: “തൽക്കാലം പോകാം; അവസരം ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ വീണ്ടും നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പിക്കാം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26 He hoped also that money would have been given him by Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

൨൬പൗലൊസ് തനിക്ക് പണം തരും എന്ന് ആശിച്ചു പലപ്പോഴും അവനെ വരുത്തി അവനോട് സംഭാഷിച്ചുപോന്നു.

27 But after two years Porcius Festus came as successor to Felix: and Felix willing to show the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

൨൭രണ്ടാണ്ട് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് ഫേലിക്സിനുശേഷം പൊർക്ക്യൊസ് ഫെസ്തൊസ് വന്നപ്പോൾ ഫേലിക്സ് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പ്രീതി സമ്പാദിക്കേണ്ടതിനായി പൗലൊസിനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനാക്കാതെ തടവുകാരനായി വിട്ടേച്ചു പോയി.
