2 Chronicles 7
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
Als aber Salomo ausgebetet hatte, fuhr Feuer vom Himmel herab und verzehrte das Brandopfer und die Schlachtopfer, und die Herrlichkeit Jahwes erfüllte den Tempel,
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.
so daß die Priester den Tempel Jahwes nicht zu betreten vermochten, weil die Herrlichkeit Jahwes den Tempel Jahwes erfüllte.
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshiped, and praised the LORD, [saying], For [he is] good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Und als alle Israeliten sahen, wie das Feuer herabfuhr, und die Herrlichkeit Jahwes über dem Tempel lagerte, beugten sie sich mit dem Angesichte zur Erde nieder auf das Steinpflaster, beteten an und priesen Jahwe, daß er gütig und daß seine Gnade ewig währt.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.
Der König aber und das ganze Volk opferten Schlachtopfer vor Jahwe.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
Und zwar opferte der könig Salomo als das Heilsopfer 22000 Rinder und 120000 Schafe.
6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy [endureth] for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
Die Priester aber standen auf ihren Posten und ebenso die Leviten mit den Musikinstrumenten Jahwes, die der König David hatte anfertigen lassen, um Jahwe zu danken, daß seine Gnade ewig währt, indem sie so den Lobpreis Davids vortrugen; und die Priester bliesen ihnen gegenüber die Trompeten, während sämtliche Israeliten dabeistanden.
7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that [was] before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt-offerings, and the meat-offerings, and the fat.
Und Salomo weihte den mittleren Teil des Vorhofs, der vor dem Tempel Jahwes liegt, indem er die Brandopfer und die Fettstücke der Heilsopfer daselbst opferte. Denn der eherne Altar, den Salomo hatte anfertigen lassen, vermochte nicht die Brandopfer und Speisopfer und die Fettstücke zu fassen.
8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entrance of Hamath to the river of Egypt.
So beging Salomo zu jener Zeit das Fest sieben Tage lang und ganz Israel mit ihm - eine sehr große Versammlung, von da an, wo es nach Hamath hineingeht, bis zum Bach Ägyptens.
9 And on the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
Und am achten Tage hielten sie eine Festversammlung; denn die Einweihung des Altars hatten sie sieben Tage lang begangen und das Fest sieben Tage.
10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shown to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
Am dreiundzwanzigsten Tage des siebenten Monats aber entließ er die Leute in ihre Heimat, fröhlich und gutes Muts wegen des Guten, das Jahwe David und Salomo und seinem Volke Israel erwiesen hatte.
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
Als nun Salomo den Tempel Jahwes und den königlichen Palast vollendet und alles das glücklich durchgeführt hatte, was sich Salomo im Tempel Jahwes und in seinem Palast auszuführen vogenommen hatte,
12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.
da erschien Jahwe Salomo des Nachts und sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dein Gebet gehört und mir diesen Ort zu einer Opferstätte erwählt.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
Wenn ich den Himmel verschließe, so daß kein Regen fällt, und wenn ich Heuschrecken entbiete, das Land abzufressen, und wenn ich Pest in mein Volk sende,
14 If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
und mein Volk, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, sich demütigt, und sie zu mir beten und mein Angesicht suchen und sich von ihrem schlimmen Wandel bekehren, so will ich vom Himmel her sie erhören, ihnen ihre Sünde vergeben und ihrem Lande Heilung schaffen.
15 Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive to the prayer [that is made] in this place.
Nun sollen meine Augen offen stehen und meine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet an dieser Stätte.
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
Und nun habe ich diesen Tempel erwählt und zu einem Heiligtume gemacht, daß mein Name für immer daselbst wohnen, und meine Augen und mein Herz immerdar daselbst weilen sollen.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
Wenn du nun vor mir wandeln wirst, wie dein Vater David gewandelt hat, daß du thust, ganz wie ich dir geboten habe, und meine Satzungen und Rechte beobachtest,
18 Then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man [to be] ruler in Israel.
so will ich den Thron deines Königtums bestätigen, wie ich deinem Vater David zugesichert habe, indem ich sprach: Es soll dir nie fehlen an einem Nachkommen, der über Israel herrsche.
19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
Werdet ihr aber antrünnig werden und meine Satzungen und Gebote, die ich euch vorgelegt habe, fahren lassen und hingehen und andere Götter verehren und euch vor ihnen niederwerfen,
20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it [to be] a proverb and a by-word among all nations.
so will ich sie hinwegreißen von meinem Boden, den ich ihnen verliehen habe, und werde diesen Tempel, den ich meinem Namen geheiligt habe, verworfen sein lassen vor meinem Angesicht und ihn zu einem Gegenstand des Spottes und Hohnes machen unter allen Völkern.
21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?
Und was diesen Tempel betrifft, der erhaben war, - jeder, der an ihm vorübergeht, wird sich entsetzen. Und wenn er dann fragen wird: Warum hat Jahwe diesem Land und diesem Tempel solches angethan?
22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshiped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
so wird man antworten: Darum, daß sie Jahwe, den Gott ihrer Väter, der diese aus Ägypten herausführte, verlassen und sich zu anderen Göttern gehalten und sich vor ihnen niedergeworfen und ihnen gedient haben, - darum hat Jahwe all' dieses Unglück über sie gebracht!
