1 Chronicles 12
1 Now these [are] they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they [were] among the mighty men, helpers of the war.
Voici ceux qui vinrent vers David à Siceleg, lorsqu'il devait encore se tenir éloigné de la face de Saül, fils de Cis; ils étaient parmi les vaillants qui le secoururent pendant la guerre.
2 [They were] armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in [hurling] stones, and [shooting] arrows from a bow, [even] of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.
C'étaient des archers, exercés à lancer des pierres de la main droite et de la main gauche, et à tirer des flèches avec leur arc; ils étaient d'entre les frères de Saül, de Benjamin.
3 The chief [was] Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,
A leur tête Ahiéser, puis Joas, tous deux fils de Samaa, de Gabaa; Jaziel et Phallet, fils d'Azmoth; Baracha; Jéhu, d'Anatoth;
4 And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,
Samaïas, de Gabaon, vaillant parmi les Trente et chef des Trente; Jérémie; Jéhéziel; Johanan; Jézabad, de Gédéra;
5 Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,
Eluzaï; Jérimuth; Baalia; Samaria; Saphatia, de Haruph;
6 Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korhites.

7 And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

8 And of the Gadites there separated themselves to David in the hold in the wilderness men of might, [and] men of war [fit] for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces [were like] the faces of lions, and [were] as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
Parmi les Gadites, des hommes vaillants passèrent auprès de David, dans les lieux forts, au désert: guerriers exercés au combat, sachant manier le bouclier et la lance, ayant un aspect de lions, aussi agiles que des gazelles sur les montagnes.
9 Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
Ezer était le chef; Obdias, le second; Eliab, le troisième;
10 Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,
Masmana, le quatrième; Jérémie, le cinquième;
11 Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,
Ethi, le sixième; Eliel, le septième;
12 Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
Johanan, le huitième; Elzébad, le neuvième;
13 Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.
Jérémie, le dixième; Machbanaï, le onzième.
14 These [were] of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least [was] over a hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.
C'étaient des fils de Gad, chefs de l'armée; un seul, le plus petit, pouvait l'emporter sur cent, et le plus grand sur mille.
15 These [are] they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all [them] of the valleys, [both] towards the east, and towards the west.
Ce sont eux qui passèrent le Jourdain au premier mois, alors qu'il déborde sur toutes ses rives, et qui mirent en fuite tous les habitants des vallées, à l'orient et à l'occident.
16 And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold to David.
Des fils de Benjamin et de Juda vinrent vers David, dans les lieux forts.
17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, If ye have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you: but if [ye have come] to betray me to my enemies, seeing [there is] no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look [on it], and rebuke [it].
David sortit au-devant d'eux, prit la parole, et leur dit: " Si vous êtes venus à moi avec des sentiments pacifiques, pour me secourir, mon cœur se portera vers vous, en vue de nous unir; mais si c'est pour me livrer perfidement à mes ennemis, lorsque aucune violence ne s'attache à mes mains, que le Dieu de nos pères le voie et qu'il fasse justice! "
18 Then the spirit came upon Amasai, [who was] chief of the captains, [and he said], Thine [are we], David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace [be] to thee, and peace [be] to thy helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
L'Esprit revêtit Amasaï, chef des Trente, et il dit: " A toi, David, et avec toi, fils d'Isaï! Paix, paix à toi, et paix à celui qui te secourt, car ton Dieu t'a secouru! " Et David les accueillit et les plaça parmi les chefs de la bande.
19 And there fell [some] of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to [the jeopardy of] our heads.
Des hommes de Manassé se joignirent à David, lorsqu'il alla avec les Philistins faire la guerre à Saül. Mais ils ne secoururent pas les Philistins; car les princes des Philistins renvoyèrent à dessein David en disant: " Au péril de nos têtes, il joindrait son maître Saül. "
20 And as he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that [were] of Manasseh.
Comme il revenait à Siceleg, des hommes de Manassé se joignirent à lui: Ednas, Jozabad, Jédihel, Michaël, Jozabad, Eliu et Salathi, chefs des milliers de Manassé.
21 And they helped David against the band [of the rovers]: for they [were] all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the host.
Ils secoururent David contre les bandes, car ils étaient tous des vaillants, et ils furent chefs dans l'armée.
22 For at [that] time day by day there came to David to help him, until [it was] a great host, like the host of God.
Et de jour en jour des hommes arrivaient auprès de David pour le secourir, jusqu'à ce qu'il eût une grande armée, comme une armée de Dieu.
23 And these [are] the numbers of the bands [that were] ready armed to the war, [and] came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.
Voici le nombre des chefs des hommes armés pour la guerre qui vinrent auprès de David à Hébron, pour lui transférer la royauté de Saül, selon l'ordre de Yahweh.
24 The children of Judah that bore shield and spear [were] six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed for war.
Fils de Juda, portant le bouclier et la lance, six mille huit cents, armés pour la guerre. —
25 Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for war, seven thousand and one hundred.
Des fils de Siméon, hommes vaillants à la guerre, sept mille cent. —
26 Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
Des fils de Lévi, quatre mille six cents;
27 And Jehoiada [was] the leader of the Aaronites, and with him [were] three thousand and seven hundred;
et Joïada, chef de la famille d'Aaron, et avec lui trois mille sept cents;
28 And Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.
et Sadoc, jeune homme vaillant, et la maison de son père, vingt-deux chefs. —
29 And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
Des fils de Benjamin, frères de Saül, trois mille; car jusqu'alors la plus grande partie d'entre eux gardaient fidélité à la maison de Saül. —
30 And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
Des fils d'Ephraïm, vingt mille huit cents, hommes vaillants et renommés dans les maisons de leurs pères. —
31 And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were expressed by name, to come and make David king.
De la demi-tribu de Manassé, dix-huit mille, qui furent nominativement désignés pour aller établir David roi. —
32 And of the children of Issachar, [who were men] that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them [were] two hundred; and all their brethren [were] at their command.
Des fils d'Issachar, ayant l'intelligence des temps pour savoir ce que devait faire Israël, deux cents chefs, et tous leurs frères sous leurs ordres. —
33 Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, who could keep rank: [they were] not of double heart.
De Zabulon, cinquante mille, en état d'aller à l'armée, prêts à la guerre et en parfait équipement de guerre, pour se ranger en bataille d'un cœur résolu. —
34 And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
De Nephthali, mille chefs, et avec eux trente-sept mille, portant le bouclier et la lance. —
35 And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
Des Danites prêts à la guerre, vingt-huit mille six cents. —
36 And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.
D'Aser, en état d'aller à l'armée et prêts à la guerre, quarante mille. —
37 And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.
Et de l'autre coté du Jourdain, des Rubenites, des Gadites et de la demi-tribu de Manassé, en parfait équipement d'armes de guerre, cent vingt mille.
38 All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel [were] of one heart to make David king.
Tous ces hommes de guerre, sachant se ranger en bataille, vinrent d'un cœur sincère à Hébron pour établir David roi sur tout Israël; et tout le reste d'Israël n'avait également qu'un cœur pour établir David roi.
39 And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
Ils furent là trois jours avec David, mangeant et buvant, car leurs frères leur avaient préparé des provisions.
40 Moreover, they that were nigh them, [even] to Issachar, and Zebulun, and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, [and] provision, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for [there was] joy in Israel.
Et même ceux qui habitaient près d'eux, jusqu'à Issachar, à Zabulon et à Nephthali, apportaient des vivres sur des ânes, sur des chameaux, sur des mulets et sur des bœufs, des provisions de farine, des masses de figues sèches et des raisins secs, du vin, de l'huile, des bœufs et des brebis en abondance; car il y avait joie en Israël.
