Numbers 35
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
Y habló el SEÑOR a Moisés en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó, diciendo:
2 Command the children of Israel, that they give to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also to the Levites common lands for the cities around them.
Manda a los hijos de Israel, que den a los levitas de la posesión de su heredad ciudades en que habiten. También daréis a los levitas los ejidos de esas ciudades alrededor de ellas.
3 And they shall have the cities to dwell in; and the common lands of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
Y tendrán ellos las ciudades para habitar, y los ejidos de ellas serán para sus animales, y para sus ganados, y para todas sus bestias.
4 And the common lands of the cities, which ye shall give to the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits on all sides.
Y los ejidos de las ciudades que daréis a los levitas, serán mil codos alrededor, desde el muro de la ciudad para afuera.
5 And ye shall measure from outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the common lands of the cities.
Luego mediréis fuera de la ciudad a la parte del oriente dos mil codos, y a la parte del mediodía dos mil codos, y a la parte del occidente dos mil codos, y a la parte del norte dos mil codos, y la ciudad en medio: esto tendrán por los ejidos de las ciudades.
6 And among the cities which ye shall give to the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee there: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.
Y de las ciudades que daréis a los levitas, seis ciudades serán de acogimiento, las cuales daréis para que el homicida se acoja allá; y además de éstas daréis cuarenta y dos ciudades.
7 So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their common lands.
Todas las ciudades que daréis a los levitas serán cuarenta y ocho ciudades; ellas con sus ejidos.
8 And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities to the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.
Y las ciudades que diereis de la heredad de los hijos de Israel, del que mucho tomaréis mucho, y del que poco tomaréis poco; cada uno dará de sus ciudades a los levitas según la posesión que heredará.
9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Y habló el SEÑOR a Moisés, diciendo:
10 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When ye have passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;
Habla a los hijos de Israel, y diles: Cuando hubiereis pasado el Jordán a la tierra de Canaán,
11 Then ye shall appoint for you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee there, who killeth any person unintentionally.
os señalaréis ciudades, ciudades de acogimiento tendréis, donde huya el homicida que hiriere a alguno por yerro.
12 And they shall be to you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer may not die, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.
Y os serán aquellas ciudades por acogimiento del pariente, y no morirá el homicida hasta que esté a juicio delante de la congregación.
13 And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.
De las ciudades, pues, que daréis, tendréis seis ciudades de acogimiento.
14 Ye shall give three cities on this side of Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.
Tres ciudades daréis de este lado del Jordán, y tres ciudades daréis en la tierra de Canaán; las cuales serán ciudades de acogimiento.
15 These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unintentionally may flee there.
Estas seis ciudades serán para acogimiento a los hijos de Israel, y al peregrino, y al que morare entre ellos, para que huya allá cualquiera que hiriere de muerte a otro por yerro.
16 And if he shall smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he shall die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Y si con instrumento de hierro lo hiriere y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.
17 And if he shall smite him by throwing a stone, by which he may die, and he shall die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Y si con piedra de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.
18 Or if he shall smite him with an hand weapon of wood, by which he may die, and he shall die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Y si con instrumento de palo de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.
19 The avenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.
El pariente del muerto, él matará al homicida; cuando lo encontrare, él le matará.
20 But if he shall thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying in wait, that he die;
Y si con odio lo empujó, o echó sobre él alguna cosa por asechanzas, y muere;
21 Or in enmity shall smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the avenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.
o por enemistad lo hirió con su mano, y murió; el heridor morirá; es homicida; el pariente del muerto matará al homicida, cuando lo encontrare.
22 But if he shall thrust him suddenly without enmity, or shall have cast upon him any thing without laying in wait,
Mas si casualmente lo empujó sin enemistades, o echó sobre él cualquier instrumento sin asechanzas,
23 Or with any stone, by which a man may die, seeing him not, and shall cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:
o bien, sin verlo, hizo caer sobre él alguna piedra, de que pudo morir, y muriere, y él no era su enemigo, ni procuraba su mal;
24 Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the avenger of blood according to these judgments:
entonces la congregación juzgará entre el heridor y el pariente del muerto conforme a estas leyes.
25 And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, where he had fled: and he shall abide in it to the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
Y la congregación librará al homicida de mano del pariente del muerto, y la congregación lo hará volver a su ciudad de acogimiento, a la cual se había acogido; y morará en ella hasta que muera el sumo sacerdote, el cual fue ungido con el aceite santo.
26 But if the slayer shall at any time come outside the border of the city of his refuge, where he had fled;
Y si el homicida saliere fuera del término de su ciudad de refugio, a la cual se acogió,
27 And the avenger of blood find him outside the borders of the city of his refuge, and the avenger of blood shall kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:
y el pariente del muerto le hallare fuera del término de la ciudad de su acogida, y el pariente del muerto matare al homicida, no se le culpará a él por su sangre.
28 Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.
Pues en su ciudad de acogimiento habitará hasta que muera el sumo sacerdote; y después que muriere el sumo sacerdote, el homicida volverá a la tierra de su posesión.
29 So these things shall be for a statute of judgment to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Y estas cosas os serán por ordenanza de derecho por vuestras edades, en todas vuestras habitaciones.
30 Whoever killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.
Cualquiera que hiriere a alguno, por dicho de testigos, morirá el homicida; mas un solo testigo no hablará contra alguna persona para que muera.
31 Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.
Y no tomaréis precio por la vida del homicida; porque está condenado a muerte; mas indefectiblemente morirá.
32 And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that hath fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
Ni tampoco tomaréis precio del que huyó a su ciudad de acogimiento, para que vuelva a vivir en su tierra, hasta que muera el sacerdote.
33 So ye shall not pollute the land in which ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him that shed it.
Y no contaminaréis la tierra donde estuviereis; porque esta sangre contaminará la tierra; y la tierra no será expiada de la sangre que fue derramada en ella, sino por la sangre del que la derramó.
34 Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, in which I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.
No contaminéis, pues, la tierra donde habitáis, en medio de la cual yo habito; porque yo el SEÑOR habito en medio de los hijos de Israel.
