Judges 19
1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite dwelling on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
Aconteceu tambem n'aquelles dias, em que não havia rei em Israel que, houve um homem levita, que peregrinando aos lados da montanha de Ephraim, tomou para si uma mulher concubina, de Beth-lehem de Judah.
2 And his concubine played the harlot against him, and went away from him to her father’s house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
Porém a sua concubina fornicou contra elle, e foi-se d'elle para casa de seu pae, a Beth-lehem de Judah, e esteve ali alguns dias, a saber, quatro mezes.
3 And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak kindly to her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of donkeys: and she brought him into her father’s house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
E seu marido se levantou, e partiu após d'ella, para lhe fallar conforme ao seu coração, e para tornar a trazel-a: e o seu moço e um par de jumentos iam com elle: e ella o levou a casa de seu pae, e, vendo-o o pae da moça, alegrou-se ao encontrar-se com elle
4 And his father in law, the damsel’s father, detained him; and he abode with him three days: so they ate and drank, and lodged there.
E seu sogro, o pae da moça, o deteve, e ficou com elle tres dias: e comeram e beberam, e passaram ali a noite.
5 And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he arose to depart: and the damsel’s father said to his son in law, Strengthen thy heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward depart.
E succedeu que ao quarto dia pela manhã madrugaram, e elle levantou-se para partir: então o pae da moça disse a seu genro: Conforta o teu coração com um bocado de pão, e depois partireis.
6 And they sat down, and ate and drank both of them together: for the damsel’s father had said to the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thy heart be merry.
Assentaram-se pois, e comeram ambos juntos, e beberam; e disse o pae da moça ao homem: Peço-te que ainda esta noite queiras passal-a aqui, e alegre-se o teu coração.
7 And when the man rose to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
Porém o homem levantou-se para partir: mas seu sogro o constrangeu a tornar a passar ali a noite.
8 And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart: and the damsel’s father said, Strengthen thy heart, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they ate both of them.
E, madrugando ao quinto dia pela manhã para partir, disse o pae da moça: Ora conforta o teu coração. E detiveram-se até já declinar o dia: e ambos juntos comeram.
9 And when the man arose to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father, said to him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day is coming to an end, lodge here, that thy heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
Então o homem levantou-se para partir, elle, e a sua concubina, e o seu moço: e disse-lhe seu sogro, o pae da moça: Eis que já o dia se abaixa, e já a tarde vem entrando, peço-te que aqui passes a noite; eis que já o dia vae acabando, passa aqui a noite, e que o teu coração se alegre; e ámanhã de madrugada levantae-vos a caminhar, e vae-te para a tua tenda.
10 But the man would not tarry that night, but he arose and departed, and came opposite Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two donkeys saddled, his concubine also was with him.
Porém o homem não quiz ali passar a noite, mas levantou-se, e partiu, e veiu até defronte de Jebus (que é Jerusalem), e com elle o par de jumentos albardados, como tambem a sua concubina.
11 And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said to his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in to this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
Estando pois já perto de Jebus, e tendo-se já declinado muito o dia, disse o moço a seu senhor: Caminhae agora, e retiremo-nos a esta cidade dos jebuseos, e passemos ali a noite.
12 And his master said to him, We will not turn aside here into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
Porém disse-lhe seu senhor: Não nos retiraremos a nenhuma cidade estranha, que não seja dos filhos de Israel: mas passaremos até Gibeah.
13 And he said to his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
Disse mais a seu moço; Caminha, e cheguemos a um d'aquelles logares, e passemos em Gibeah ou em Ramah.
14 And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongeth to Benjamin.
Passaram pois adiante, e caminharam, e o sol se lhes poz junto a Gibeah, que é cidade de Benjamin.
15 And they turned aside there, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodge.
E retiraram-se para lá, para entrarem a passar a noite em Gibeah; e, entrando elle, assentou-se na praça da cidade, porque não houve quem os recolhesse em casa para ali passarem a noite.
16 And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at evening, who was also of mount Ephraim; and he dwelt in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.
E eis que um homem velho vinha á tarde do seu trabalho do campo; e era este homem da montanha de Ephraim, mas peregrinava em Gibeah: eram porém os homens d'este logar filhos de Benjamin.
17 And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Where goest thou? and where do you come from?
Levantando elle pois os olhos, viu a este passageiro na praça da cidade, e disse o velho: Para onde vaes, e d'onde vens?
18 And he said to him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from there am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receiveth me into his house.
E elle lhe disse: Passamos de Beth-lehem de Judah até aos lados da montanha de Ephraim, d'onde sou; porquanto fui a Beth-lehem de Judah: porém agora vou á casa do Senhor; e ninguem ha que me recolha em casa,
19 Yet there is both straw and fodder for our donkeys; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for thy handmaid, and for the young man which is with thy servants: there is no want of any thing.
Ainda que ha palha e pasto para os nossos jumentos, e tambem pão e vinho ha para mim, e para a tua serva, e para o moço que vem com os teus servos: de coisa nenhuma ha falta.
20 And the old man said, Peace be with thee; however let all thy wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.
Então disse o velho: Paz seja comtigo; tudo quanto te faltar fique ao meu cargo: tão sómente não passes a noite na praça.
21 So he brought him into his house, and gave fodder to the donkeys: and they washed their feet, and ate and drank.
E trouxe-o a sua casa, e deu pasto aos jumentos: e, lavando-se os pés, comeram e beberam.
22 Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain perverted men, beset the house on all sides, and beat at the door, and spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thy house, that we may know him.
Estando elles alegrando o seu coração, eis que os homens d'aquella cidade (homens que eram filhos de Belial) cercaram a casa, batendo á porta; e fallaram ao velho, senhor da casa, dizendo: Tira para fóra o homem que entrou em tua casa, para que o conheçamos.
23 And the man, the master of the house, went out to them, and said to them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into my house, do not this folly.
E o homem, senhor da casa, saiu a elles, e disse-lhes: Não, irmãos meus, ora não façaes similhante mal: já que este homem entrou em minha casa, não façaes tal loucura.
24 Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good to you: but to this man do not so vile a thing.
Eis que a minha filha virgem e a concubina d'elle vol-as tirarei fóra; humilhae-as a ellas, e fazei d'ellas o que parecer bem aos vossos olhos; porém a este homem não façaes loucura similhante.
25 But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth to them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.
Porém aquelles homens não o quizeram ouvir: então aquelle homem pegou da sua concubina, e lh'a tirou para fóra: e elles a conheceram e abusaram d'ella toda a noite até pela manhã, e, subindo a alva, a deixaram.
26 Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light.
E ao romper da manhã veiu a mulher, e caiu á porta da casa d'aquelle homem, onde estava seu senhor, e ficou ali até que se fez claro.
27 And her lord rose in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine had fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.
E, levantando-se seu senhor pela manhã, e abrindo as portas da casa, e saindo a seguir o seu caminho, eis que a mulher, sua concubina, jazia á porta da casa, com as mãos sobre o limiar.
28 And he said to her, Rise, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her upon a donkey, and the man rose, and went to his place.
E elle lhe disse: Levanta-te, e vamo-nos, porém não respondeu; então pôl-a sobre o jumento, e levantou-se o homem, e foi-se para o seu logar.
29 And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the land of Israel.
Chegando pois á sua casa, tomou um cutelo, e pegou na sua concubina, e a despedaçou com os seus ossos em doze partes: e enviou-as por todos os termos de Israel.
30 And it was so, that all that saw it said, There hath been no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came from the land of Egypt to this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
E succedeu que cada um que tal via dizia: Nunca tal se fez, nem se viu desde o dia em que os filhos d'Israel subiram da terra do Egypto, até ao dia d'hoje: ponderae isto no coração, considerae, e fallae.
