Jeremiah 7
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
১সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য যিরমিয়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হল,
2 Stand in the gate of the LORD’S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
২“সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের ফটকে দাঁড়িয়ে এই বাক্য ঘোষণা কর! বল, ‘যিহূদার সমস্ত লোকেরা, যারা সদাপ্রভুর উপাসনা করবার জন্য এই ফটকগুলি দিয়ে ঢোকে, তারা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শোনো’।”
3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
৩ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, বাহিনীগনের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তোমাদের আচার আচরণ ও কাজকর্ম সঠিক কর তাহলে আমি তোমাদের এই জায়গায় বাস করতে দেব।
4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.
৪তোমরা এই মিথ্যা কথায় বিশ্বাস কোরো না, যা বলে, এটি সদাপ্রভুর মন্দির! সদাপ্রভুর মন্দির! সদাপ্রভুর মন্দির!
5 For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
৫যদি তোমরা সম্পূর্ণভাবে তোমাদের আচার আচরণ ও কাজকর্ম সঠিক কর; যদি তোমরা একজন ব্যক্তির সঙ্গে তার প্রতিবেশীর ন্যায়ভাবে বিচার কর,
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your harm:
৬যদি তুমি কোনো বিদেশী, অনাথ কিংবা বিধবাদের অত্যাচার না কর, এই জায়গায় নির্দোষের রক্তপাত না কর এবং অন্য দেবতাদের পিছনে গিয়ে নিজেদের ক্ষতি না কর,
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
৭তবে আমি এই জায়গায়, এই দেশে তোমাদের থাকতে দেব যেখানে আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের যুগ যুগ ধরে এবং চিরকাল বাস করবার জন্য দিয়েছি।
8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
৮দেখ! তোমরা মিথ্যা কথায় বিশ্বাস করছ, যা তোমাদের কোনো সাহায্য করে না।
9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
৯তোমরা কি চুরি, খুন ও ব্যভিচার কর? তোমার কি মিথ্যা শপথ কর, বাল দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে ধূপ দান কর এবং অন্য দেবতাদের পিছনে যাও যাদের তোমরা জানো না?
10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
১০তারপর তোমরা আমার গৃহে এসে আমার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে বল যে, আমরা নিরাপদ। যাতে তোমরা ঐ সব জঘন্য কাজ করতে পারো?
11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
১১এটা কি সেই গৃহ নয়, যা আমার নাম বহন করে, যা তোমাদের চোখে ডাকাতদের আড্ডাখানা হয়েছে? দেখ, আমি এই সব দেখছি, সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
12 But go ye now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
১২তাই শীলোতে আমার যে জায়গা ছিল, যেখানে আমি প্রথমে আমার নাম রেখেছিলাম, তোমরা সেখানে যাও এবং আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের দুষ্টতার জন্য আমি তার অবস্থা কি করেছি, তা দেখ।
13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spoke to you, rising early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
১৩এখন, তোমরা এই সব কাজ করেছ, এটা সদাপ্রভু বলেন, আমি তোমাদের বার বার বলেছি, কিন্তু তোমরা শোননি। আমি তোমাদের ডেকেছি, কিন্তু তোমরা উত্তর দাওনি।
14 Therefore will I do to this house, which is called by my name, in which ye trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
১৪সেই জন্য, এই যে গৃহকে আমার নামে ডাকা হয়েছে, যে গৃহকে তোমরা বিশ্বাস করেছ, এই যে জায়গা আমি তোমাদের ও তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দিয়েছি, এর উপরও আমি সেই রকম করব, যা শীলোর প্রতি করেছিলাম।
15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
১৫কারণ আমি তোমাদের আমার সামনে থেকে দূর করব, যেমন আমি তোমাদের ভাইদের প্রতি, ইফ্রয়িমের সমস্ত বংশের প্রতি করেছিলাম।
16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
১৬আর তুমি, যিরমিয়, এই লোকদের জন্য প্রার্থনা কোরো না এবং তাদের জন্য বিলাপ কোরো না বা তাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা কোরো না এবং আমাকে অনুরোধ কোরো না, কারণ আমি তোমার কথা শুনব না।
17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
১৭তুমি কি দেখতে পাচ্ছ না তারা যিহূদার শহরগুলিতে ও যিরূশালেমের রাস্তায় রাস্তায় কি করছে?
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
১৮ছেলেমেয়েরা কাঠ কুড়ায় এবং বাবারা আগুন জ্বালায়! স্ত্রীলোকেরা আকাশমণ্ডলের রাণীর উদ্দেশ্যে কেক তৈরীর জন্য ময়দা মাখে এবং আমাকে দুঃখ দেবার জন্য তারা দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে পেয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালে।
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
১৯তারা কি আমাকে সত্যি দুঃখ দেয়? এটি সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, তারা কি নিজেদের দুঃখ দিচ্ছে না? তাই তাদের উপর লজ্জা ডেকে আনছে।
20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, my anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
২০সেইজন্য প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন, দেখ, আমার রাগ ও রোষ এই জায়গার উপরে, মানুষ ও পশুর উপরে, মাঠের গাছপালা ও ভূমির ফলের উপরে ঢালা হবে। তা জ্বলবে আর নিভবে না।
21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
২১ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বাহিনীগনের সদাপ্রভু বলেন, তোমরা নিজেদের অন্যান্য বলির সঙ্গে হোমবলি ও তাদের মাংস যোগ কর।
22 For I spoke not to your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
২২কারণ যখন আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মিশর থেকে বের করে এনেছিলাম, আমি তাদের থেকে কিছু চাইনি; আমি হোমবলি ও বলিদানের সম্মন্ধে কোন আদেশ দিইনি।
23 But this thing I commanded them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well to you.
২৩আমি শুধুমাত্র তাদের এই আদেশ দিয়েছিলাম, তোমরা আমার কথা শোনো এবং আমি তোমাদের ঈশ্বর হবো আর তোমরা আমার প্রজা হবে। তাই আমি যে সব পথে চলবার আদেশ দিচ্ছি, তোমাদের মঙ্গলের জন্য সেই সব পথে চল।
24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
২৪কিন্তু তারা শোনেনি বা কান দেয়নি। তারা তাদের নিজেদের মন্দ অন্তরের একগুঁয়েমি পরিকল্পনায় চলেছে। তারা এগিয়ে না গিয়ে পিছনে ফিরে গিয়েছে।
25 Since the day that your fathers came forth from the land of Egypt to this day I have even sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising early and sending them:
২৫তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা যখন মিশর দেশ থেকে বের হয়ে এসেছিল, সেই দিন থেকে আজ পর্যন্ত, আমি প্রতিদিন তোমাদের কাছে আমার সমস্ত দাসদের, ভাববাদীদের পাঠিয়ে আসছি।
26 Yet they hearkened not to me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
২৬কিন্তু তারা আমার কথা শোনেনি, তারা মনোযোগও দেয়নি, তার পরিবর্তে তারা নিজেদের ঘাড় শক্ত করত। তারা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের থেকেও বেশী পাপেপূর্ণ হয়েছে।
27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words to them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call to them; but they will not answer thee.
২৭তাই তুমি যখন এই সব কথা তাদেরকে বলবে, কিন্তু তারা তোমার কথা শুনবে না। তাদের কাছে এইসব জিনিস প্রচার করবে, কিন্তু তারা উত্তর দেবে না।
28 But thou shalt say to them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth hath perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
২৮তাদের বল, এটাই সেই জাতি, যে তার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর কথা শোনে না এবং শাসন মানে না। সত্য ধ্বংস হয়েছে এবং তাদের মুখ থেকে উচ্ছেদ হয়েছে।
29 Cut off thy hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
২৯তোমার চুল কাটো, নিজেকে কামাও এবং তোমার চুল ফেলে দাও। খোলা জায়গায় বিলাপ গান কর। কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাঁর রাগে এই প্রজন্মকে তিনি অগ্রাহ্য ও ত্যাগ করেছেন।
30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
৩০কারণ এই কথা সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, আমার চোখে যিহূদার লোকেরা মন্দ কাজ করেছে। যেখানে আমার নাম উচ্চারণ করা হয় সেই গৃহে তারা তাদের জঘন্য বিষয়গুলি স্থাপন করে অশুচি করেছে।
31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
৩১তারপরে তারা বিন-হিন্নোম উপত্যকায় তোফৎ নামক উঁচু জায়গা তৈরী করেছে। তারা তাদের ছেলে মেয়েদের আগুনে পোড়াবার জন্য এটা করেছিল। যার আদেশ আমি দিইনি। আমার মনে যা কখনও উদয় হয়নি।
32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there shall be no place.
৩২সুতরাং দেখ, এমন দিন আসছে, সদাপ্রভু বলেন, যখন ঐ জায়গাকে আর তোফৎ কিংবা বিন-হিন্নোমের উপত্যকা নামে ডাকা হবে না। এটা হত্যার উপত্যকা বলে পরিচিত হবে, কারণ তারা সেখানে জায়গা নেই বলে তোফতে কবর দেবে।
33 And the dead bodies of this people shall be food for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.
৩৩আর ওই লোকেদের মৃতদেহ আকাশের পাখী ও পৃথিবীর পশুদের খাবার হবে এবং সেগুলিকে তাড়িয়ে দেবার জন্য কেউ থাকবে না।
34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
৩৪আমি যিহূদার শহরগুলিতে ও যিরূশালেমের পথে উল্লাস ও জয়ধ্বনির শব্দ, বর ও কনের শব্দ শেষ করে দেব, কারণ দেশটি ধ্বংসস্থান হয়ে যাবে।
